Gas Pedal and Break

Hello, today I accidentally pressed on the gas pedal instead of breaking. Nothing happen though. However, I am a little paranoid now because I had made this mistake once or twice as a newbie and thought that it wouldn’t happen again as I accumulated enough experience and my brain and muscle memory adapted. Does anyone else do this from time to time? Are my worries unbacked?

Not if you accidentally hit the gas, then it's definitely breaking.

Buy a manual trans car and your left foot will be needed for the clutch and your forced ro use your right for the gas and brake.

It's interesting because I've always driven with two feet and I've never mistaken one pedal for the other. The reason I was told for 1 foot driving was so you don't confuse the two and cause an accident.
I am so much faster to react because I can hover the left foot over the brake and be ready for anything without having to swap.

Are you driving with both feet? I did this starting out. Luckily yea in a parking lot and not on the road. You probably aren’t but this is easy to do if you are driving with both.

Even after years of experience, sometimes the brain just has a fart.
Once a couple years, no biggie, I would put that under "mistakeful nature of humans"
More frequent than that (excluding other factors such as first 1-2 years of driving), and I'd indeed start to worry. But if it truly is a one-time err and you make sure to integrate the lesson, then don't stress yourself up over this.

That would happen to me very occasionally when I first started learning how to drive. Muscle memory eventually takes over.
