Easy way to make money a bunch of cops sit in places and ticket everyone that doesn't signal

Easier yet is just use a camera car and ticket them via video and mail the tickets. No more one cop one ticket trying to search. 2 cops one camera vehicle. One is monitoring and flagging while the other drives. It’ll be 200 tickets an hour. Make them cheap enough and like speed cameras not go on you driving record. It’d be a bigger windfall. Instead of 4 tickets an hour per officer it’ll be 100 per hour per officer. Instead of the higher cost ticket make it $75 each. It’ll make revenue faster than your idea.

Which is why I'm thankful traffic ticket cameras are illegal in my state.
Funny story though, there's an area near me where it goes from 35 to 55 but the 35 is still set up like a three-lane highway. They decided to post a cop there every day for like 2 weeks to "crack down on speeders".....well it backfired. They weren't a large municipality and they gave out so many tickets that their court system got completely overwhelmed. They ended up doing mass plea deals with the DA because there was too much for them to handle. They were doing a deal every ten minutes. Sat down in a room with probably 30 other people, called your name up, offered a deal, paperwork, then it was done. Every time they got somebody out of the hall, another person would stream in.
I ended up getting a four points speeding ticket reduced to a parking violation without even asking for leniency or pleaing.

The reason they won’t do what I said is they like asset forfeiture more and looking for worse offenses. AndvArizona tried similar and twice the camera techs were shot. Then a mass no plate speeding event that triggered the cameras thousands of times in a single day.

That's a normal thing in traffic court, not a "we're overwhelmed" thing. My friend's first job when she got her JD was traffic court plea deals. Save them from having to talk with a judge, and any noobie lawyer can do it.

Except that this information came directly from an employee of that court. I think they're qualified to determine if the crout they work at is overwhelmed.

Yeah...I had a job years ago where I had to get things from people who worked at courts, so I totally get that they would feel overwhelmed a lot. LOL

But then they'd have to write tickets to fellow police? I can't count how many time I see police w/o lights and sirens on, not use signals. My understanding of the law is that they HAVE to follow the same rules as everyone else UNLESS they have their emergency lights and sirens on.

That's a very simplistic way of looking at it. All or nothing? Where do you think all of these cops are going to come from?

Make money for whom? The county from which the tickets were harvested?
I would argue that would cost more money in resources than it would yield. A flurry of contested tickets would easily engulf the profit gained in court expenses. And a majority of the people ensnared in the trap would benefit from the usage of those captured funds in the form of infrastructure improvements from enriched transportation funds.
So what would you really be gaining, that you would not also gain from pulling people over and handing out written warnings? If your intent is to make people use their turn signals more often, you can do that without all the financial penalizing and the judicial rigmarole.
All in all I am in favor of a non-police state. Address an issue, don't create one with a vindictive sting.
