Instead of music videos make music games.

Simple games that are only meant to be played for a few minutes while listening to the song.

Check out Capsule Silence, from Anamanaguchi. The band created a fake shitty game that, when entering a cheat into it, teleported the player to a HUB where they could find some 30 tracks to listen to. Pretty cool, I recommend the Polygon YouTube video, if you wanna know more about it.

These... already exist.

Rez is nearly a quarter of a century old.
1... 2... 3... KICK IT! (Drop That Beat Like an Ugly Baby) is going on fifteen years old.
Guitar Hero is not only nearly twenty years old but an episode of South Park revolved entirely around it.
DJ Hero is fifteen years old.
And they're just the first four off the to of my head - you'll find plenty of others here (and that isn't an exhaustive list either).

I don't think any of those are what I said.

You said "music games".
The games listed are music games.
If that's not what you mean ... say something else.

Avicii invector is pretty similar to what you're describing. It's only avicii songs tho

Rez and 1... 2... 3... KICK IT! fit that bill to an extent ... albeit the envisaged aim is continuous play rather than the length of one song - but there's nothing stopping you from only playing them for the length of one song and then restarting (or not).
Likewise, you could play Guitar (and DJ) Hero in similar manner - but, again, that's not their 'intended' play format.
Whether there are any that exactly meet your specification, I couldn't say - those are just the ones of which I am personally aware (or at least remember in any case). Maybe there are some in the Wikipedia list, maybe not ... maybe there are some that aren't in that list (or maybe not).
If nobody else here can point you in the direction of precisely what you mean then your only option will be to see what (if anything) you can track down yourself. Either way though, I'm not sure the idea itself is 'crazy' as such - for that to be the case, there'd need to have never have been any kind of music game of the type you mean or those in that list (and even then, I'm still not sure the idea would be crazy so much as "My God, that's a good idea - why has nobody ever done it!?" 🙂).

That's a interactive music video.
mercury_pointer@reddit (OP)
To the same extent that all games are interactive videos.

You should check out Audiosurf on Steam. It generates levels based on the sound file you feed into it.
