Yeah, I was gonna say that looks like the heavy side of a medium duty. They aren’t the gigantic highway heavy load hauling class 8s that are the standard “semi”. You can get them (freightliner M2) with a semi trailer 5th wheel, but this kinda is more like a box truck RV than a semi.
^(Though I guess most semis you see on American roads are their own RVs with the sleeper compartment, if you think about it…)
Imagine the years of nice, comfortable hotel rooms you could've paid for with the price of this stupid barge that's not even particularly adventurous and just as locked to RV campsites as any other RV.
Sure, but that thing is a common hauler with a fifth wheel instead of the body. I'm pretty sure that with a trailer the same total length as this rig would have more space and a better escape vehicle.
I would have to assume the owner does trips with no trailer for this to make sense. (Of course there is always the option that there is no sense to be made with something like this. Lol)
Something like this pretty much never makes sense unless there's special circumstances, say "I already owned the semi and prefer driving it" or "I need to regularly tow ridiculous loads with a vehicle I can also comfortably sleep in and this contraption was cheaper to make than to buy a semi with a long factory sleeper". Most likely just made by a guy who likes trucks, RVs and building stuff.
It looks like an International Harvester
XT Series. Bring a trailer shows them going for ~60k.... To which holy shit I'd much rather buy that than a new "truck".

I have ridden in a lot of these. as box trucks and stake beds/ 5th wheels.
Anyone not in the air ride, drivers seat is in for an uncomfortable ride.
If you're not towing 10K lbs why would you subject yourself to the terrible ride and crazy high cost to own and operate this truck ?
Look more like vanity than function to me.

It's not a semi as there's no fifth wheel coupling

It looks like an International Harvester XT Series. You can say it's in-between a super duty truck and semi.

It's a freightliner m2

Honestly easier to maneuver than an RV and a beefy tow rig. Pretty cool but I bet she's pricey
