Should I drink them or just keep them until the Federation gets created?

That's synthehol, right?

Lol
Top-Statistician8620@reddit
Good photo op of something you’re never going to open or drink.
Venarius@reddit
If you don't drink them, at least store them roperly so the cork doesn't ruin and you can a trully enjoy later...
Very cool little collection BTW. Jeaoulous!

Where’s the Earl Grey?

Idk how people drink hot tea
seamallorca@reddit
You are being downvoted. I don't get it either.
garth54@reddit
I'd suggest using a cup and your mouth... But you do you. (do I need to specify /s ?)
namewithanumber@reddit
Now this is the kind of hot (heh) take I come to Star Trek forums for.
NuggetNasty@reddit
You haven't had good tea
Lafayettereader@reddit (OP)
🤔
NuggetNasty@reddit
Get a steeper ball or whatever they're called and try some herbal looseleaf I personally love blue raspberry as that's what it taste just like, amazing tea, I typically don't care for sweet tea, but a loose lead herbal is amazing
Lafayettereader@reddit (OP)
Cool. Thanks for info
NuggetNasty@reddit
Np! I think tea is underrated because teabags and sweet tea has taken over in the US lol
Blah_Blah_Blah7892@reddit
That blood wine better be 2309....there is no finer vintage.

At least drink the white wine on a special occasion, white wine doesn't age well. I drank mine but kept the bottle. I'm not touching the red for awhile though.
garth54@reddit
Seeing as it's -300+ yo, I wonder what that does to the taste... ;p
Redfandango7@reddit
Just a heads up: neither wine nor spirits “age” once they’ve been bottled. The aging happens in wood barrels. Once they’ve been corked it’s all downhill from there, or you drink.
Jean-LucBacardi@reddit
Red wine definitely will age in the bottle as the tannins go through chemical changes over time.
Redfandango7@reddit
I’d get rid of the “definitely” here. Corked wine does go through a chemical change but that change is known as decomposition. When the bottle is sealed in glass no more flavor is absorbed, it just sits and entirely depends on how long the cork stays intact.
NuggetNasty@reddit
You're just wrong, Google it, red wine does age in the bottle, corked or not - probably not in the same way as in a cask but it does age.
Redfandango7@reddit
The end product of wine is what you’re buying at the supermarket. Everything else is marketing.
Johnsendall@reddit
Sorry man I worked with a master of wine and was a wine manager for a restaurant chain. Red’s age in the bottle.
Redfandango7@reddit
That’s amateur
Johnsendall@reddit
I did. Thanks.
Redfandango7@reddit
You would know differently then, so idk what to say to you. Drinking wine outta the cask is eerily similar to drinking wine that’s literally just sitting in glass with possible oxygen disturbance
Johnsendall@reddit
Oh man. Give up. Or Google it. Jesus you’re wrong. No more responses. Go find your safe space or have your mom heat up some pizza bagels.
Redfandango7@reddit
Haha
Redfandango7@reddit
This is exactly why the wine industry is failing. It’s all speculative fiction
Johnsendall@reddit
You spelled, “I can’t admit that I’m wrong” wrong.
Jean-LucBacardi@reddit
Any chemical changes taking place in wine constitutes as aging. The tannins break down over time making the flavor more mellow. The color will even undergo changes due to this. That is aging. It's not barrel aging but it's aging nonetheless. Same with mead, which I used to make at home regularly. Mead should be aged in the bottle for years as it vastly undergoes changes in flavor overtime.

Thanks for advice
SenatorCrabHat@reddit
I'll be real with you. There may come a day where you do not have the option to drink them. Don't horde your consumables until the end of the game, they are meant to be used. On a special occasion, certainly, but use them while you can.
namewithanumber@reddit
Drink and save the bottles.
I’ve got my Picard bottle that I treasure.
Lafayettereader@reddit (OP)
Cool
shaded-user@reddit
Where's the Romulan Ale?
Lafayettereader@reddit (OP)
Not enough gold pressed latinum to buy everything
davesToyBox@reddit
Seeing as how these are marketed as collectibles, and the value is more in the label than the product, I would bet that the wine inside is just a common table wine, possibly even rebottled from existing bottles. If you’re planning on drinking them then do it sooner than later; there’s no benefit to letting them age unless you need vinegar.
Lafayettereader@reddit (OP)
As BIG as Star Trek is....you think they would allow a "common" wine to be inside a Trek bottle ? Seem like there would be complaints from "Trekkies"....lol
Kylar_Stern@reddit
Eh, I dunno. I'm gonna have to agree that the value is all in the bottle, being these are collectibles. Unless you were just joking.
badfaced@reddit
Store the blood wine for Ram nl' Tay!

Not…. They are interesting collectibles… but shitty wines :)
FriendlyDish1106@reddit
I only drink on the weekend these days.
El_human@reddit
Don't drink it!!!!
I drink my bottle of château Picard, and I wish I did not. It didn't taste that great, and the bottles not as cool to keep on display when it's empty. That's why I'm not even gonna touch my Kanar.
One_Waxed_Wookiee@reddit
I'd fancy some Romulan Ale please!
Love the setup you've got there 😀
Flight305Jumper@reddit
No Romulan ale?
Unhappy_Run8154@reddit
I love the Klingon symbol. It's just so awesome
Hepcat10@reddit
Drink them before they turn bad. Then fill them with colored water
Lafayettereader@reddit (OP)
Maybe I could send the bottles to the Picard winery and get them refilled....🤔 🙃🙂
shmupsy@reddit
is there TNG beer?
i want TNG beer
Lafayettereader@reddit (OP)
Hmm ..IDK. but would it be called beer. I can remember many times in Ten forward it being called Ale
anotherdamnscorpio@reddit
Better find appropriate drinking vessels to pour them in if you do decide to open them.
Lafayettereader@reddit (OP)
They drink out of so many different shaped glasses..lol
anotherdamnscorpio@reddit
Gotta find some old metal cup that looks like you found it in a field after it sat there for 10 years after a great battle for the bloodwine. A simple champagne glass for the other should suffice.
ExperienceDaveness@reddit
It seems incredibly unlikely that there would be "Property of the USS Enterprise" mugs in universe. These could be replicated easily as needed, by anyone, meaning that Starfleet would have no reason to worry about them being stolen, and they would have minimal resale value.
Lafayettereader@reddit (OP)
These have a gold press latinum label on the bottom certifying that these mugs are genuine Starfleet (they don't but seem like that could happen....lol)
Johnsendall@reddit
I’d suggest drinking them and saving the bottles. The producers of these wines are not winning any awards I’m afraid. Take it from a former sommelier, the liquid inside isn’t as nice as the bottle it comes in. Still a fantastic collectors item but the wine won’t be selling higher than face.
MattTheSmithers@reddit
I would not. Branded and promotional liquors and wines are mediocre at best. The bottle makes a much better unopened collector’s item than it will make for a drink.
androidguy50@reddit
You must have a fully stocked bar. Klingon blood wine, Saurian brandy, Romulan ale. You know, the necessary stuff. 😆
Anaxamenes@reddit
I’d drink it and then use the bottles for something else like homemade liqueurs or something like that. The rosé was actually pretty good. White wines don’t usually age very well and storing them upright in a warm environment like this will hasten their demise. Just enjoy them and keep on enjoying the bottles as something else, even if it’s just displaying colored water.
TomeseekerLorekeeper@reddit
Of course you should drink them. You can save the bottles as display pieces.
VuckoPartizan@reddit
Prune juice i hope? It's a warriors drink
Lafayettereader@reddit (OP)
😆
sqplanetarium@reddit
Where’s the Romulan ale though? Grab some before they make it illegal!
