City break in Budapest

We’re travelling to budapest next week from Ireland. My fiance will celebrate his birthday while we are over there. Can anyone recommend a nice restaurant to eat in that night? My fiance is a big foodie and loves a good feed so although I’d love to visit a Michelin star it won’t suit for that night! Any suggestions for nice restaurants that I can book?

I can also recommend Kiosk Budapest, it has one of the best Chicken Paprikash I've ever had.

Not a restaurant, but if you are up to seeing some less touristy, more hidden gems of the coty, I recommend you the book "Secret Budapest" by Jonglez Publishing.

Stand25Bistro is a good suggestion, run by the same company and staff as 2 star Stand, excellent service and food, but in price less, as the restaurant.
Though not a cheap one :) Stand25
Or take a look at recommended places by Michelin. Fricska is a good one, Tati and Felix as well.

What type of restaurant? What’s your budget? We need more info.
If you don’t want to go to a Michelin restaurant, one of them owns another location that doesn’t have any stars but is similar quality. Stand and a number, I forget the exact name. Stand51?

Any type of restaurant really! Somewhere intimate preferably- I’ve got €200 (80,251Huf) put aside so far but will have more if needed

If you want to try true hungarian cuisine that is high quality and is NOT a tourist trap - i highly recommend Pörcz & Prezli Restaurant - just make sure to book ahead! Alternatively Stand51 Bistro.

Here are my recommendations:
A really nice restaurant, not in the city center, so it is quieter and less touristy: https://buda.vakvarju.com/ (I am also taking my BF here for his birthday:)
If he really likes to eat and try different things I would recommend this italian restaurant, it has an all you can eat option for around 14 000 HUF drinks included, but still the place is fancy, and every pasta and pizza is freshly made: https://aperegina.hu/en/
If you want to try Hungarian food I recommend this restaurant, as a local I can say they are authentic, and not that pricey: https://www.facebook.com/gettogulyas/

Go to Riso restaurant, close by the castle. Great dishes, good service, reasonable rates. https://riso.hu/en/
You will not be disappointed.
