My post last night got a lot of attention and opinions. This is how I store my rifle every morning before I start driving.

Curious how I'd manage prison since the reddit lawyers are sending me there.
FilthyNasty626@reddit
Shit, I don't lock mine up. It sits cocked locked and ready to rock right behind my seat. Even when I get out of the truck I don't lock the doors or anything even in LA or NYC. Haven't had an issue in 16 years. For the enevitible down votes I will get - I have never once had someone test the german shepherd thay guards it.
Zeon_Pilot83@reddit
The only states I could see you getting in trouble in IF they were to ever search you is New England, Illinois, WA and CA. But quite frankly, what the state don’t know can’t hurt them. Now if you’re going onto a federal installation, I would reconsider.
Western-Willow-9496@reddit
New England isn’t a state. NH is a constitutional carry state and I think Maine is as well.
overpaidlazytrucker@reddit
The states surrounding NH are not gun friendly.
justaguynumber35765@reddit
Vermont was literally the first constitutional carry state .
What are you on about ?
Girafferage@reddit
Vermont is pretty friendly I believe. AND no billboards. Much more enjoyable drive.
overpaidlazytrucker@reddit
You still have to enter a non gun friendly state to get there.
Girafferage@reddit
well ya got me there
justaguynumber35765@reddit
Vermont was the first constitutional carry state way back in 1902
hadriangates@reddit
Yes Maine is!!!
cumdump307@reddit
And Vermont.
Organic_South8865@reddit
NY as well.
CMDR_PEARJUICE@reddit
Except upstate, where AR15s are very popular
Sir_Uncle_Bill@reddit
And that shitty city dictates life to the rest of the state.
UrbanSobriety@reddit
WA is fine if you have permit from a state with reciprocity.
84WVBaum@reddit
Former military security, and secondary the federal installation advice. If you tried to access a base with this, you're getting turned away, likely having your firearm confiscated, and may or may not end up in cuffs, depending on installation, resources, threat protection level, etc..
I have spent many, many hours over 6 years searching rigs, and it's crazy the shit drivers try to bust through, or hide. I figured it was often drugs when I found pills in weird places, but if they were in a bottle - not my problem. Same with porn (huge in the desert, where it was illegal), it'd be squirreled away in some super secret spot that A) they thought I wouldn't find lol, and B) I left it right there. While we did monitor for contraband our chief concerns were espionage and violence. We'd look away from a LOT, especially for truckers because i mean, it's your fucking house after all. But, guns, cameras, and explosives? Your day is fucked, at best your missing your delivery.
IneedPepto@reddit
I am in and out of different fed establishments not just base….this is unthinkable.
petit_cochon@reddit
What the state learns can hurt you.
gr8daynenyg@reddit
You'd have to be able to see trouble coming from a mile away.
lbodyslamrhinos@reddit (OP)
It's for when I'm butt ass naked at night and hear my window break
krowrofefas@reddit
Can you even maneuver in your cab with the long gun? Wouldn’t a handgun be more practical?
domesticatedwolf420@reddit
This is a long gun but it's relatively compact and can still be fired with the stock folded in. Plus higher capacity, better accuracy, and most of all, fewer legal implications when traveling to other states.
trucker151@reddit
What accuracy lol. Dude says he keeps the gun for self decence in his truck.... u need a hand gun and you need it on you to have any hope of getting the upper hand. That's the biggest false sense of security.. Shit happens fast and out of the blue. Ur not going to the back, unzipping the gun, unlocking it, assembling it, loading it... in the time it takes someone to break ur window and get inside. Especially if u get women up....
domesticatedwolf420@reddit
Look at his previous post that he referenced in the title. Obviously he deploys the weapon and has it at the ready while sleeping. And in many states it would be perfectly legal to not have it stowed and locked during driving so I imagine that OP tailors his carry situation to local laws.
Rudyscrazy1@reddit
In illinois, he would have a fast ticket to the joint. They dont fuckmaround if you.dont have a foid
justaguynumber35765@reddit
If you have a home state permit , you are legal in your vehicle in Illinois .
Also, Illinois has shall issue CCW for residents now .
It's not 1985 anymore
Sir_Uncle_Bill@reddit
One reason on the mountain of reasons I don't go to that state.
Rudyscrazy1@reddit
Like i told op on his last post, the world is a scary place, so i get it. Living in fear just seems a strange way to go about life.
Sir_Uncle_Bill@reddit
I don't think he's living in fear. I think he's just keeping something just in case. Same for a dude extinguisher. You don't expect your house to catch fire but most people have at least one anyway because sometimes they do.
Rudyscrazy1@reddit
Right. But I'll go stay somewhere without one and not worry about bringing mine. You let the items' possession dictate your life. That's fear, brother.
Sir_Uncle_Bill@reddit
No it isn't.
Rudyscrazy1@reddit
Yes, it is.
Sir_Uncle_Bill@reddit
Lol
Rudyscrazy1@reddit
Sleep tight, sweetheart 💖
Sir_Uncle_Bill@reddit

United_News3779@reddit
I think that carbine is a dude extinguisher. I know it was a typo, but that's a great typo.
domesticatedwolf420@reddit
You sound dumb
trucker151@reddit
In illinois yea u would be. Even if u have a foid card the weapon still has to be unloaded and stored. You need a Conceal carry to have a loaded weapon but that applies to hand guns only as far as I know.
trucker151@reddit
Yea I'd figured he assembles it at night. But he says he has it locked up while he's driving. I dunno....,I think ur just as likley to get into trouble during the day. There's plenty of psychos out and about at all hours. I'd just get a handgun if it's for real self decence. Maybe he can't get a conceal carry. I know if u have a CC permit but a state doesn't honor it, you can usually still keep the gun on or near you but it has to stay in the car. I'm in illinois and have a CC permit. It's honored in at least some of the states touching mine, but illinois itself doesn't honor CC permits from out of state. You would have to keep the gun in the car
KickinAssHaulinGrass@reddit
🤣 It's a 9mm rifle with NO SIGHTS and 10 round mags
Sir_Uncle_Bill@reddit
Did you look at his previous post? Unless he said that that 23rd mag was a 10 then it's a 23rd mag.
KickinAssHaulinGrass@reddit
Gonna need all of them blind firing into that hooker
Tut_Rampy@reddit
I thought this too, maybe transporting a long gun is less restricted across the country? Idk not a gun guy
trucker151@reddit
Yea this is more a case of "i just want to bring my rifle with me". And thats fine. But this is not for self defence. This would just give u a false sense of security. for real self decence especially in a truck (tiny space) , you need a hand gun and it needs to be near you ready to go. U need a conceal carry permit.. Maybe he just assembles it every night and keeps it locked up when on the move. Not sure of the legality of keeping a loaded rifle in ur truck while u sleep. But that means u have nothing for the day time.
Wizard_with_a_Pipe@reddit
Conceal permit is not reciprocal. You would need one for each State you plan to carry in. To be "legal."
Sir_Uncle_Bill@reddit
And some states won't give you one of you aren't a resident. Hell, a couple effectively won't give you one even if you a resident.
trucker151@reddit
Yea for real man... for self defence when ur out and about u need to go with a handgun. If its truly for self decence that is. If u just want to bring a rifle with you then its whatever... but you need the weapon within a second. A criminal isnt going to wait for u to unlock and assemble ur rifle... that just givesu a false sense of security. No matter who you are, your not special. Your not gonna see a crime coming from a mile away. That shit happens fast. If anything theyll just steal ur rifle too. I just have a conceal carry and keep a Heckler&Koch pistol with a 17 round mag.
Captain_Wag@reddit
Physically more practical, legally speaking very impractical to bring a handgun across state lines.
FreeAndRedeemed@reddit
In other words: Memphis.
NFLTG_71@reddit
I don’t know why everybody keeps giving Memphis some shit. I’ve lived there for 20 years. I’ve never had a fucking problem.
FreeAndRedeemed@reddit
We just had a truck and trailer get broken into in Memphis last week. It was a meat load so since the seal got broken it’s no longer USDA certified so we had to buy the whole load.
Memphis sucks.
No_more_cargo_theft@reddit
You should look into the internal door locks offered by Level5Fleet.com. They put trailer access in the palm of your hand.
NFLTG_71@reddit
Because I have one of the best parking spots in the Memphis area and it has video cameras
NFLTG_71@reddit
Where was the person parked in Memphis?
ImaginationVisual729@reddit
You mentioned never having a "fucking problem". That implies you had other problems...
NFLTG_71@reddit
No, I’ve never had a problem with Memphis not one. other people have but not me and if you need a place to park and drive an 18 wheeler I got the perfect place has cameras security and no one has ever messed with my truck and I was down with Covid and my truck was parked there and no one messed with it
moldschlager@reddit
Thats just the lot lizard delivery service pal
United_News3779@reddit
"Good morning sir! We've been trying to reach you regarding your lot lizard extended warranty!"
Mcj1972@reddit
Just stab them as they come up into the cab. It's more fun and way more personal. Make sure your blade is long enough to reach at least one vital organ. Twist and pull in opposite directions on way out.
Massive-Vegetable-78@reddit
lol
trucker151@reddit
That's a false sense of security man. U should really consider a hand gun and a Conceal carry permit (if its required in ur state). Ur not assembling that rifle in the time it takes someone to break ur window and open the door.
In chicago I was waiting for someone parked on the side of a street. Saw 2 guys walk up, i thought to myself, "Is that him? He's coming from a different direction, why is one of them going on the sidewalk, what's in his hand? Is that a gun?"
And BAM. 2 seconds and i got 2 guys at both windows, both pointing a gun at my head and wanting money. There's so very little time to react. Shit happens in slow motion. I though this whole incident took place over like 3 minutes but it was literally 30 seconds or less. I ran thru all these scenarios in my head. Like "what if I grab his gun and do this or that".... but it wasn't worth the risk. I tried to drice off at one point but there was a car in front of me and they got mad so i didnt want to push them to do something very bad. They were like 17 years old too and that's a dangerous age cause they don't have critical thinking skills and can't comprehend consequences as well... I didn't want to get shot over some credit cards. I had 400$ on me and managed to slip the money in my sleve without them seeing it. i Gave them a basically empty wallet and they took like 13$ and didn't even steal the credit cards. They just said to me "u broke u ain't got shit i got a family to feed'. Then they walked away... they asked where my gun is too but I just said I don't have one. If I pulled out my gun, best case scenario is I kill 2 kids over some credit cards. Worst case scenario and the more likley one, I would kill one of them but I'd get shot and possibly killed myself in the process. Its hard to get the upper hand in real life when there's 2 guns pointed at ur head. Just saying this stuff is usually unexpected and happens so fast...
mistermann802004@reddit
All joking aside, it's your decision alone to store your weapon the way you see fit.
NFLTG_71@reddit
I didn’t think you were allowed to carry on an 18 wheeler per DOT. I have a CC and I was told by the owner of our company you’re not allowed to have firearms on the truck because my CC doesn’t reach all 50 states.
FWD_to_twin_turbo@reddit
That's misinformation to the highest degree, it varies HEAVILY state to state. I can personally vouch that Texas, Louisiana, Missisipi, New Mexico and Arkansas did not give two shits when i declared that it was in the truck. There is NO FEDERAL OR DOT LAW against it, it's all dependent on local laws.
NFLTG_71@reddit
Look up FOPA it says your firearm has to be unloaded and inaccessible from the cab meaning you gonna have to have it in one of your utility boxes
FWD_to_twin_turbo@reddit
FOPA can be superseded if the state you are currently in has reciprocacy with the state your CC license originates from.
For example, i dont need to follow FOPA if i'm traveling from texas to Louisiana.
I will need to follow FOPA if i'm traveling from texas to Nevada. Different regulations with no reciprocacy of my CC license.
A big difference in my CC license being valid immediately across state
It's one of those cases of "Techniccally you are not wrong yo do so", a good lawyer could brush it off without batting an eye.
I must also point out that this is for Concealed Carry License holders ONLY. If you dont have one, then follow FOPA like your life depended on it.
The law is only enforcable if a good lawyer can't get you out of it 😉
NFLTG_71@reddit
Then it must be a company policy because I have a CC and I was told under no circumstances can I carry because some of the states we go to like New York Jersey Pennsylvania don’t reciprocate an Arkansas CC license
FWD_to_twin_turbo@reddit
It's a company policy for sure, not to mention the fact that the company can get caught in the crossfire of a questionable self-defense/assault/murder lawsuit if things go sideways.
Losing a driver doesn't hurt a company in the slightest, a lawsuit does.
Luckily, i'm either regional in one of my brother-in-law's trucks or local in one of my trucks, i dont have to get nannied by restrictions. I'm also sure that most of our drivers carry, even though some of them legally shouldn't but that's not my problem.
NFLTG_71@reddit
OK, I could see that. Thanks, brother.
NFLTG_71@reddit
Well, the company I work for is based at Iowa, and we were told not to have a weapon a firearm on board. Doesn’t mean I’m not armed with something. I just don’t have a firearm.
Noxious14@reddit
Is that an M&P frame for a lower? Whats going on here
lbodyslamrhinos@reddit (OP)

Beautiful Bro I always carry!!! Rather be Judged by 12 than Carried by 6 Be safe out there!! Truckin Up!!
gunsndonuts@reddit
Who gives a shit? I keep a loaded handgun above the visor, and when I'm out of the truck, it's concealed on me. If anyone has a problem with it they can fuck right off. No one is gonna know you have it unless you get in a situation you need to use it, and at that point you have more important shit to worry about.
AroundGoesThe18@reddit
Been inspected dozens of times and not once did any officer or inspector get in the cab. Just food for thought.
rainbowcoloredsnot@reddit
This reddit. The majority of reddit is scared of the gun and thinks they kill people by themselves.
KickinAssHaulinGrass@reddit
It's definitely gun owners that kill people. Responsible gun owners right up to the point where they get into an argument
rainbowcoloredsnot@reddit
Yeah shit happens. A lot of other things kill people too.

The criminal has to give you 2 business days notice before breaking in
WTFisjuice1@reddit
In texas that's actually a law lmao
Blarchford@reddit
Definitely not. Texas is a constitutional carry state.
WTFisjuice1@reddit
WOOOSHHH lol no Back in 1973, Rep. James Kaster from El Paso proposed that a law be passed where a criminal must notify the "target" they would be committing a crime against them within 24 hours. Never actually passed but still relevant here, constitutional carry has nothing to do with the statement I replied to
Sir_Uncle_Bill@reddit
A law requiring criminals to be polite. Interesting concept.
ValuableShoulder5059@reddit
Hahaha. Oh wait, can we make that punishable by an extra 5 years?
validxib@reddit
Which cascadia has the lounge table?
lbodyslamrhinos@reddit (OP)
It's an option on the new gen, Idk if every year of it, but I got a 19. Thinking about buying a mid roof and Idk if I'd bother with it again. It would be nice to have more storage
validxib@reddit

FreeAndRedeemed@reddit
God I miss my driver’s lounge. That’s such an underrated option.
P3tr0@reddit
And absolutely braindead how little the oems offer it. Volvo has been offering the dinette bed since the mid 90s. Peterbilt had the Bed and Breakfast on select models for like 3 or so years early 2000s. Freightliner offered it in the Classic XL but only the big 84in sleeper and you had to order it. Kenworth has the audacity to offer a giant 86in sleeper and all you gey is a futon that sucks so bad in bed form most drivers just sleep on the top bunk and leave the bottom in the couch setting.
It isn't even difficult nor expensive to implement it either, you didn't even have to change the sleepers all that much. Just change the way the bed is mounted and secured and build a little dinette system under it that's it. Drivers realize just how much better for quality of life it is over the same ole double bunk.
FreeAndRedeemed@reddit
I don’t mind Kenworth’s take on it with the T680s. The rotating passenger seat and the big table seem to work well.
RayAlmighty13@reddit
I thought it was illegal to carry firearms though. Is it not?
SavvyEquestrian@reddit
It is not.
State laws or company policy are the only barriers... there are no federal laws baring firearms in a CMV.
RayAlmighty13@reddit
No kidding? Must’ve been company policy for me then. The more you know. 👍
Guuuda@reddit
Might as well carry it loaded and ready, carrying in CV is federally illegal i believe. I don't blame you though I'd rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6!
lbodyslamrhinos@reddit (OP)
It's legal to have, Illegal if I carry it loaded and reachable. With the amount of cameras and shit on the highways I'll keep it out of site
Guuuda@reddit
Right on👍
tralphaz43@reddit
How are you even allowed to carry that in states like new jersey or new york
lbodyslamrhinos@reddit (OP)
As far as the laws I found, it's compliant. Can't mess with HP ammo and not waving it around. But the rifle itself come 50 state legal from the factory
tralphaz43@reddit

I know that much, just asking if that’s how you do it bc it’s illegal to drive with it assembled? I just saw your other post it looks sweet!
lbodyslamrhinos@reddit (OP)
Yup, basicallyat the change of my duty status. Lot of laws and loopholes and I try to keep it all legit. I'm not a gun nut who lives with it by my side, but I do when I feel I need it most and when it's legal.
Saskatchemoose@reddit

You feel bad because someone exercises there right ?
You are what is wrong with today's america
I mean who cares it's his life let him live it freely as he wants ! Is he bothering you ?
DecadentEx@reddit
I completely agree that people should let everyone live life as freely as they want, and believe in the 2nd Amendment. However, do you really believe someone expressing their opinion that's different from yours on a social media platform is "what is wrong with today's America"? You say "who cares", but your comment shows you do. You ask "is he bothering you?" But don't realize that a simple expression of a different mindset is bothering you. Let the guy feel bad. It's his right to do so, just as it's OP's to want to carry a rifle.
man-of-stihl@reddit
He edited his post so you have no idea what i originally even replied to
DecadentEx@reddit
I see. Well, luckily I don't mind the taste of crow all that much.

ComStar6@reddit
It's not his right. I don't give a fuck what Justice Scalia ruled, the 2A will always be an amendment meant for states to raise well REGULATED militias so individuals states had proper militaries.
It was NEVER EVER for random special operator wannabes to own guns for self defense.
man-of-stihl@reddit
The RIGHT of the PEOPLE to keep and bear arms shall not be infeinged. It's picture clear its definitely his right.
It doesn't get much more clear than that. But yeah the people can also form a militia. But how can you form a militia if you don't have the right to keep your guns lol
LordChimyChanga@reddit
They choose to ignore that it’s inclusive to both. The guy is right and wrong at the same time. He’s also acting as if a single recent decision was decided on out of thin air, these people usually never consider traditional standing when a major decision they don’t agree with is made.
Healthier6908@reddit
This man has a constitutional right to protect and defend himself. You do you!
HodGuy@reddit
Yup great thing about America. Most people are forgetting about the bill of rights that gives every citizen the freedom to talk, choose their own religion and have the capacity to defend themselves with out fear of retaliation. If there's fear we're closer to the tyranny that the forefathers fought to get away from, so every American needs to remember to agree to disagree before it's too late...

Confident professionals get robbed every day B! I know I stayed with one or two, the service tech found a bullet that I FOUND outside and snitched on me. Company called the police, told me come to the shop so they could fix something on the NEW rig I just got two days ago. Long story short, I was fired and the police told me I had to mail the shit to my house.
ColonEscapee@reddit
After watching those videos of trucks getting hijacked (I understand those didn't happen in the USA) I don't know how the thought didn't even make a pass but I've seen enough here myself and once I step out of the truck there's no such thing as professional, I'm a short scrawny guy who is confident that I'll need something to equalize the fight in almost any instance. People who question this "IDENTITY "spent too much time being the bully in school and we're never cornered in an alley just to get their ass kicked and taken for anything minutely valuable... By schoolmates mind you. And it's not your attitude about the guns it's your attitude towards people who carry because they don't get off trying to fight everyone. Like an identity that says if gUns didn't exist I'd be the bad ass anywhere and nobody could rob me... "beefcake, BEEFCAAAAAAKE" and the world would live as one.
I have a better one. Was in college (dating myself here) 25 years ago. Driving to girlfriends and got stopped at every freaking light by the damn red. Well this one particular light was a car ahead of me and we got stopped by red again so after 3 miles of red mights I pound my fist on the dash and car ahead apparently thought I meant him so a giant (above 6'5" and THICK ) passenger gets out dressed in blood (red gangsters) and proceeds to walk between our cars and up to my window. I almost ran him over because he was a giant but I just presented my (redneck black powder) iron at the window & told him I'm just mad at the damn lights and the problem diffused with no injuries.
But nah I'm "BEEFCAKE" and I'll just get out and meet him is what you're really saying as a confident professional and not great advice for a midget like me. Identity is a nice way to put it when you're built with the same attitude that others apparently need a gun for. Born to be a bad ass oh and look at him ha ha he needs a gun to be a bad ass, I was born like this.
Far_Help_5032@reddit

Honestly more impressed with the interior of that cascadia lol
FlamingoAlert7032@reddit
wtf is this anyway? A handgun rifle kit? If so why? You’re better off with just the handgun. Better yet, if you’re gonna tote a rifle why not just do the sensible thing and register a SBR on a 5.56 platform.

lbodyslamrhinos@reddit (OP)
I run my own rig so there's no company to tell me otherwise. The feds also have no laws daying we can't. But gun laws are hard and complicated so I went for a simple rife that has a wide net of compliance that most states recognize.
Puzzleheaded-Bag-121@reddit
There is a law regarding how it has to be stored in transit, nothing more.
BrassMonkey-NotAFed@reddit
The Feds actually have laws that protect your right to carry across state lines. The states are the ones you have to worry about.
Puzzleheaded-Bag-121@reddit
Yes, but there is a regulation about how it has to be stored when in transit. The laws are very similar to progressive state gun laws. I.e locked container, unloaded, and not easily accessible to driver while moving.
A lot of companies have policies against it though. Mine does. I just tell my guys straight up, if you get caught I didn’t know.
domesticatedwolf420@reddit
Pistol has a lot more legal implications when crossing state lines. OP has the right idea with a compact folding carbine
Feisty-Season-5305@reddit
At what point does carrying a weapon become more of a burden then trying to just punch the guy out. I think this is it
Puzzleheaded-Bag-121@reddit

I see nothing wrong with that. Its probably more secure than the law requires no? As long as it's in a case and not loaded it should be fine, specially if it's out of reach somewhere. I only carry a pistol, and I have a conceal cary permit. But when I'd go to the shooting range I just had the rifles boxed up in the truck, unloaded, and never had issues.

Noticed that too. It’s clean and tidy which is a huge plus but goddamn is it stark and depressing.
Mindes13@reddit
Pillows are for the week and soft, OP grabs a rock every night from the roadside to sleep on.
palebd@reddit
Oh he grabs a rock every night, for sure.
R34CTz@reddit
Shit, i have 5 pillows in my truck.
notquitepro15@reddit
I thought that’s what piss jugs were for
Substantial-Prune704@reddit
I used to roll with a KSG when I drove. I figured that was the best option being a full length rifle and not having a magazine. But I kept mine more accessible.
senticosus@reddit
Looks secure 👍🏼
My super pro gun neighbor left two glocks in his center console… of his unlocked truck for days. Now they are gone. His first words were to bitch about how the cops said they weren’t going to pawn shops to look for him.
I told him to be a little more careful because there’s probably a couple dipshits running around with stolen loaded handguns. I’m sure it didn’t register. He’s a guy that just never seems to do anything correctly
mwonch@reddit
A truck is close quarters, inside and out. A rifle is mid to long range, and a bitch to properly store for quick access.
Wouldn’t a pistol be better?
lbodyslamrhinos@reddit (OP)
Potentially, the s&w fpc is incredibly light and more easy to handle than you'd think. I only have to point it at a door. Not pivoting around or anything. It's also much easier to stay compliant with state laws, as I drive through all of them, with a rifle
Cute-Roll2849@reddit
How do you like that table/chair setup Freightliner is doing? Is it chintzy garbage that gets I. The way or actually helpful?
lbodyslamrhinos@reddit (OP)
I got starlink and a good gaming laptop and play with my friends and wife when I have time, so it's helpful there. Otherwise I find it more tedious to setup everytime I want to eat or lounge. Gotta move pillows and sometimes the blankets snag. I'd probably get it again though if I bought another cascadia.
wittywillync@reddit
Can you tell us what starlink you are using
lbodyslamrhinos@reddit (OP)
Standard dish that gets set up on the hood at night
Angry_Hermitcrab@reddit
Which starlink set up do you have and how is the lag?
lbodyslamrhinos@reddit (OP)
Lag is shockingly low, as good as home wifi. I have the standard dish that I set up on my hood at night
Kai_Tenbears@reddit
It's dangerous to go alone, take this. Stay armed. Don't worry about what a few people on reddit think, I am always armed and loaded for bear with the safety off and a round in the chamber. After all the things I have experienced I don't take any chances.
dethwish69@reddit
I would have a Glock man , even when I'm at home I have my pistole near my bed. If you're startled out of sleep the AR is just awkward for me for self defense. If you miss that round isn't stopping either.
BrassMonkey-NotAFed@reddit
Commercial vehicles don’t have the same 4A protections as passenger vehicles because it’s used for commerce. If you’re found with a weapon, the state you’re in will determine how it’s handled.
In Texas, we’d have laughed and asked why it wasn’t loaded and in your lap. In New York, you may get shot and later arrested and convicted for having scary metal.
DammmmnYouDumbDude@reddit
I’m no trucker, but that surely looks like a fancy rig!!!

Are you planning on sniping lot lizards?

That's none of your business

Unless he IS a lot lizard.

What kind of trucking is the OP doing to be this afraid?

This doesn't make you look any less like a baby.

what rifle is that? AR ?

MainInternational824@reddit
Truckers and guns I approve of this message! I’ll shot 6 before I’m carried by 6.. y’all be safe out here!
iLostMyMap78@reddit
If you feel the need to carry a weapon I sincerely feel bad for you. It’s a fear I can live without.
Take care my fearless friends. Grasp those guns tight and remind yourselves how brave you are.
Oh ya.
I run NYC.
Sooo…
Ya.
Horacegumboot@reddit
God forbid you end up meeting a serial killer or deranged lunatic or a thief who might be on drugs and out of their mind. Sometimes giving them what they asked for isn’t enough. Stay strapped or get clapped…
atticthump@reddit
Basically never happens. If you choose to carry a gun I'm not really knocking you but the chance you'll actually ever need it for self defense (or have it be useful in any of these fantasy scenarios should they actually ever happen, which to be clear, they won't) is so astronomically slim it's near delusional to even think about them. It's much more likely just to get robbed out of your truck lol
lbodyslamrhinos@reddit (OP)
I feel bad too. Nearly cried about it this morning when I was drinking my morning latte
tactical_soul44@reddit
Be careful in Illinois because they don't care about the Constitution. But they do care about putting people in prison
ComStar6@reddit
2A is for citizens soldiers (state national guard AKA well regulated militia). It's not for random civilians.
Horacegumboot@reddit
There would be a lot more burglaries if it wasn’t for the fact that most people are armed and will shoot intruders. The whole statement about well regulated militia was actually directed at ordinary citizens. The whole point of it was so that if everyone is armed to the teeth then it will deter threats, foreign and domestic from fucking around and then finding out.
People kill people, not guns. If someone wanted to hurt people they could do it without guns. There’s a mental health problem in this country and it’s most likely because the everything costs too much and no one is getting higher pay. If someone wanted to hurt people they could do what the unabomber did and mail out a bunch of bombs, or the Oklahoma City bomber who used fertilizer and diesel to blow up a federal building. That attack was carried out using common supplies that anyone could buy without question and it was more deadly than any shooting ever was.
Guns aren’t the problem, it’s people.
King_satan@reddit
Not according to the supreme court or the federalist papers or the founding fathers
Capn_T_Driver@reddit
As an Illinois resident I can attest to this.
tactical_soul44@reddit
I dotn do North east so Illinois is really the only state I had to worry about. They do have a travel thru law for firearms bit they have to be put up a certain way. And I'm sure most cops have no clue about it.
NinjaNymph@reddit
What year is that freightliner Cascadia that table set up is nice
Ghee_buttersnaps96@reddit
Dude that’s dumb. Always keep it ready.
The_dud_abides@reddit

lbodyslamrhinos@reddit (OP)
I mean, like.... this is a site for discussing stuff. Ya know?
Fatback225@reddit
It’s a rifle so you are good. Just gotta be upfront about it when dot approaches. I use to carry my handgun unless I was going through a state that my concealed carry wasn’t honored. Only issue I ever had was a WV dot officer asked why I had my permit and didn’t have a gun.
lbodyslamrhinos@reddit (OP)
That's something a lot of people overlook. I always tell the DOT. I've gotten mostly people who react like it's me saying I'm carrying a bottle of water with me. Couple have asked questions to make sure it's secured but that's about it.
Jazzlike-Election840@reddit
OP are you an owner operator? i only ask cause i figure it would give you more flexibility with carrying a rifle/shotgun, since you aren't driving someone else's truck. i work for a nationwide LTL and im almost positive they wouldn't allow it. not saying i have a problem with it, just saying that is their stance
lbodyslamrhinos@reddit (OP)
Yes, I have my own truck. My last company allowed guns, but I didn't have anything I could legally take into Illinois in my day cab at the time. But now I'm independent I'll take advantage of it.
Jazzlike-Election840@reddit
ok cool man.
JSlim53@reddit
i dont blame you. been carrying my piece for 13 yrs. also got alarms on doors that go off soon as a door is cracked open. sleep with mine every night.
Redbeard6665@reddit
I mean I may carry a glock 17 with 3 mags a ar15 with 6 mags and a plate carrier. I live in the truck so I also have water filtration and some food rations.
jericho458slr@reddit
You must be a civilian.
jericho458slr@reddit
Wow. Lots of losers here. So how many of you rockstars are rolling heavy? At least M240’s? Hmm? What’s that? Ok, let me make it easy. How many of you have engaged in actual gunfights? How many of you have actually utilized a firearm to defend your person OR WORSE, cargo? Let me guess. Zero. Fucking losers.
You want action? Sign up for the military. And I don’t mean to get training so you can come back CONUS to train domestic terrorists.

I definitely do not keep a .45 acp with seven hps in the mag and one in the head within arms reach at all times.
Riyeko@reddit
I understand carrying a hand gun in your truck, maybe two, but why a rifle?
I'm better with a. Rifle personally, but I'd never bring one in the truck
Slater_8868@reddit
It's a 9mm PCC, which is basically a handgun with a longer barrel and a stock.
Riyeko@reddit
Still, the point of a hand gun is for stealth and easier carrying. Why would you have a hand gun that's this big anyway? Takes up more space, people who don't know much about firearms get all weird when they see shit like this (ffs half the folks I talk to still think an AR-15 is a machine gun).
If I saw something like this and inquired about it, and they told me it was a hand gun with a longer stock, I'd automatically think they were compensating for either their own personality, or they're a blow hard.
lbodyslamrhinos@reddit (OP)
Mostly to help stay compliant with as many laws as I can with the least effort
