Unusual circumstance for car registration in Arkansas

My grandfather passed away about 1 year ago and everything he had went to my uncle. My uncle then decided to gift me my grandfather's old '95 Buick Century. The problem is the title, or registration was never transferred over to my uncle. I now have the car in my possession that is still in my deceased grandfather's name and would really like to drive it legally. How do I go about getting the title and registration in my name? People have told me to forge his signature, but that seems illegal. Any and all help would be helpful. Thanks in advance!

Copy of death certificate, and a copy of power of attorney was what I needed to get when I did this.

You might have to have you uncle go to the dmv with his death certificate and the will stating the car went to him so he can transfer the title in his name them then transfer it to you. Otherwise I am unsure

I was afraid of that. Do you know of any extra fees for inheriting a car that my uncle may have to pay?

I’m unsure besides standard taxes and dmv fees. However in my state if you can prove that it was a gift from a relative you don’t have to pay the sales tax, but I know that’s not the case in every state
I am overall uninformed on the procedure for this, just my best guess as to what you’d have to do. Call your local dmv tomorrow and they should have a definitive answer.

Thank you, my good man. Much appreciated.

No problem my friend. I hope it’s not a huge headache!
