What is the most appropriate day for fish and chips?

Hello,
American here. I like getting fish and chips at a British pub occasionally (I am in New York City somewhat regularly so they aren’t hard to find compared to much of the US).
I was curious - is there any day of the year or specific holiday or historic event that is associated with fish and chips in the UK?

Traditionally on a Friday but it’s not really a done thing anymore, with the abundance of options when compared to 20 years ago.
