there’s a need, and a demand for a neutral leader. one that doesn’t try to play red vs blue. these two candidates are the opposite of that. i’m not trying to rile you up or anything, but, to bring back up my original statement. believing republican or democrat propaganda is dumb as shit.
not even saying that its not gonna happen. just saying theres an issue in american politics where we tend to get riled up over bs that trained liars spew out of their mouths. idgaf about who wins cause we’re fucked either way.
No prob, I had to do a little searching to reply accurately.
And I'd totally hear arguments that being under indictment doesn't mean you should immediately lose rights. That's a discussion. But as is, just like we all can grumble about regulations and tax stamps, we still jump the hoops to not be criminals. At the time, Trump owning a gun is an issue.
Hopefully it was worked out, outside the court, because as far as I know, he was never punished for it. I could also understand that. "Hey, you can't do this; let's fix it," and courts don't get involved. That's pretty average citizen, at least from my (maybe privileged) experience.
Most gun owners shoot like 50 rounds at an indoor range and call it a day. They never encountered anything beyond maybe a stove pipe from limp wringing their Glock.
Oh, I don’t have issues at all. But I see alot of people have issues.
I tend to just press the slide inside, next to the lifter and it releases the shotshell from the inside of the magazine tube back through the loading chamber.
This way I don’t have live rounds going into the chamber.
This way I don’t have live rounds going into the chamber.
Why would this even matter. If you honestly think your hammer will drop when a round goes in to the chamber then you shouldn't think it's safe enough to chamber a round to begin with. If you can't trust your gun to safely cycle rounds then you shouldn't be using it at all.
You must not shoot alot of skeet or sporting clays.
It’s always favorably looked upon at the clubs to not chamber live rounds unless you are actively shooting.
not chamber live rounds unless you are actively shooting.
Yeah, you chamber right before you shoot. You only chamber 2 rounds. And in the rare instances where we would unload (pigeons didn't fire, broke on machine, etc) I've never seen anyone say a damn thing when the pump/semi users cycled their rounds out.
But most importantly, why did you bring up something completely unrelated that doesn't even address what we're talking about. We're talking about unloading after a hunt... You're talking about loading during a sporting shoot.
Bro no one gives a fuck if you cycle rounds to unload.
I only own two tube fed guns, one pump and one lever action, and they definitely aren't my go to guns. I suck at unloading them. I also don't like running live rounds through the chamber. Hell, on my bolt guns with internal magazines I drop the magazine to unload them even though it's a pain in the ass to get it lined back up and reinstalled. I shoot the bolt actions a lot more, but I don't regularly unload without also extracting the bullet from each case first, so it isn't something I practice regularly.
As an a400 owner, I facepalmed initially. But I think he was unloading the shotty without the shells ejecting onto the ground. He just looked awkward asf while doing it.
It's also the A400 Xcel sporting which is a sporting clays gun, not the hunting model. Still a very nice shotgun but a strange choice to make. Probably because they just got him a random one for the photo OP.
That knucklehead must've "misspoke" again. Poor guy must be trying to overcome a condition or something because he just can't seem to stop "misspeaking."
I saw that. I don't know if it was because he doesn't usually use that gun, or nerves, or just an ordinary fuckup. But, to be fair, that wasn't his first hunt. He attends and even hosts hunting events pretty regularly. Usually in the form of a deer hunt with a small group to celebrate opening day, but I did see something about a governor's annual turkey hunt (though not sure if it continued since year 2 would have been 2020).
Your gun club doesn't shoot doubles? Pretty sure that's a staple of trap.
But also most people are just using an OU for trap anyways. Very rare to see someone with a semi. Cause then you're either messing around with a shell catch, or pissing off the guy in the next lane.
Lots of tough talk but not much common sense. I truly hope no one any of you care about is ever killed or wounded in a mass shooting.
I don’t understand why so many put so much trust in Trump? A huge amount of his former administration has publicly stated he’s not fit for office, why do you know better? It’s naive to think Trump won’t sell out firearms owners out if he gets a better deal. He has a long and public history of screwing over his business partners and wives. His own attorney taped their conversations to protect himself, that’s how Trump was convicted in New York. They used his own words against him! Why do you trust him?
Gun laws aside, IMO anyone that still supports Trump after his attempted insurrection shouldn’t call themselves a patriot. Fascist is probably a better description. I guess it’s nice to finally have a candidate that hates and fears the same kinds of people as you do.
There’s lots of flaws in the Democratic Party but they didn’t threaten to use the military to collect voting machines when the vote totals start going against them, Trump did.
IMO some of you are not the type of American our forefathers were thinking of when they created the Second Amendment.
34 counts of falsifying business records in order to influence an election. That is the conviction, but there are three other felony cases ongoing. Lying about possessing secret documents and refusing to return them. Pressuring officials in Georgia to rig their election results. And attempting to stop the certification of the election by Mike Pence by instigating the Jan 6 riot, pressuring Mike Pence to "do the right thing' and refusing to act to stop the riot. You should know these things.
Civll law and criminal law are two separate proceedings. The felony you're talking about was a civil case, based off of probability. Unfortunately for you there wasn't evidence to pursue criminal prosecution.
Wow, you are confidently wrong. It was a criminal case and it was a felony conviction. How does one get convicted of a felony in a civil case? Learn your stuff, dude.
No, that was the Stormy Daniels sexual assault civil case, where the judge ruled that using fingers was technically rape in NY, therefore it could be said that Trump was found liable for rape. Not a guilty nor felony verdict.
The case I was referring to was the hush money case, the same crime Trump's attorney Michael Cohen (Laywer A) went to jail for. The business records falsification was by itself a misdemeanor but when combined with attempting to influence an election (or any other crime elevating it) it became a felonly. Read about it here... https://d3i6fh83elv35t.cloudfront.net/static/2023/04/Donald-J.-Trump-SOF.pdf
"A well regulated Hunting Club, being necessary to the eating of delicious game, the right of the people to keep and bear Single-Shot Shotguns And Nothing Else, shall not be infringed."
It clearly is about hunting. Are you high on ketamine again?
Why are you concerned about the headline? Did you read the article? Did anyone here read the article that you're linking to?
Because OP clearly just grabbed the headline, poorly cropped a photo, typed in a headline in MSPaint, added an ellipsis, and posted it here to farm engagement from you.
Read the article, why does it matter. He literally is doing what the title says. No different than his running mate. No one’s buying it. This dude is getting axed anyway because of the SA charges coming up.
Truth matters. Being lied and deceived by people matters.
You just glommed onto what OP posted, saying, "Someone should remind him." You didn't even find or read the article til I just brought it up, and I'm sure all you did was skim it with preconceived notions.
You're being played by OP. I'd rather you make informed decisions as opposed to just following your feelings.
Walz goes hunting all the time. This isn't a new thing. Yeah, pics got taken of him, because he's running as a vice president candidate. Of course there's human interest articles about him. It's explained in the first paragraph of the article that he has a long-time hunting partner.
You're being deceived by these dumb memes, and news organizations obsessed with clicks on top of that.
You've watched the video? Because I just had to look it up, and every source is Fox News, who preempts the actual 3 second clip with their story of what is going on.
He bought the gun when he was “shooting a lot of trap”. What I see in the video is someone who was having trouble loading and cycling the action.
Hunting and shooting sports is not what 2A is about. I said it before and I’ll say it again. He had this photo op to ponder to gun owners. It’s a bullshit ploy. Democrats do not like 2A and even some republicans, however when you have to choose between the two evils I’ll stick with republicans.
You should research the sexual assault charge this dude is about to get hit with and how Kamala’s team is going to get rid of him in a next few days.
It was a 3 second clip. What in the world are you on about? He's talking to someone and putting shells into the magazine and action. That's all. There's nothing there that indicates to me any sort of failure of loading. If you're somehow coming to a conclusion from that, I don't know how to even engage in reasonable conversation with you.
And the allegations? What is the source for that? Please name it.
Then keep scrolling. He even says he had trouble with it at the beginning of the clip. Holy shit dude, you’re just like talking to a wall. You came here for what reason?
You’ve done nothing but act like we aren’t reading anything meanwhile you haven’t done a drop of research let alone seen video I told about until just now. Do your own research and stop spreading your bullshit opinion like you know what you are talking about.
He's from that generation where hunting was the only acceptable reason to have a gun and sportsmen didn't want to be asssociated with people killing weaponry. After the FBI killed two Kennedys and a King in the 1960s the fudd club exploded in popularity.
I got linked to this sub by a cross post and just scrolled a bit so I'm not too invested in any of this, but wanted to let you know there's loads of us who are for the types of things you mention and also want to demilitarize the police too! Absolutely no reason they should have some of the stuff they have. Only use is terrorizing the populace trying to exercise their rights.
It’s pretty fucked that politicians will say “nobody needs more than 10 rounds” when the standard issue police duty guns are 9mm semiautos with 18+1 rounds.
my answer is whatever types of firearms the local and state police use on duty.
This is my opinion as well. They patrol the same streets we live in so any firearm they have the need for I do as well because I have a chance of encountering the same danger they do.
In fairness for clarity, I was being sarcastic. It does not translate well on reddit. Being a firearms reddit page I thought people would pick up on it a little more.
Police ostensibly carry handguns on their person for self defense. The supreme court has ruled that all adult Americans have a right to carry handguns on their person for self defense (DC v Heller 2008). I don’t see how those two sentences can be true and it still be constitutional for police to carry better handguns than civilians. If the precedent set in that case was overturned, then your argument would have merit, but that hasn’t happened.
I have some friends that stopped buying ARS and AKS a long time ago, and they only buy bolt action rifles. They frequent pawnshops in the Minneapolis area and sometimes they get lucky and get some really nice old Mauser and
Really nice bolt guns for pretty cheap prices . The sad thing is that they are 100% ready to give up their right to own and possess , semi automatic magazine, fed weapons.
One of my friends actually told me it’s bound to happen sometimes it’s gonna happen sooner or later . And I think that’s because he’s from Minnesota and they have much stricter laws regarding AR/AK and handguns.
Here in Wisconsin, we don’t need a permit to purchase. We don’t need any of that shit. all I needed for my concealed carry permit was to send in a copy of my hunters safety certificate which I got when I was 12 years old lol. I mean Jesus fucking Christ. I actually think that there’s a lot of people out there that should be made to take a test of some sort to show that they know and understand the laws.
But my main point is that there’s a lot of people that are just ready to comply with another AWB if it goes into effect. And that’s really fucking sad. It should not be that way.
It’s gonna be just the police have them it’s gonna be the police and then all the criminals that are going to try to take advantage of normal people .
It's not his generation. Plenty of people his age, when asked why they own guns, will respond "because fuck you, that's why". The only acceptable answer.
The act of killing is a serious act, whether it's a squirrel, a deer, or a person. It should never be trivialized or forgotten. Meat isn't murder, but it does involve killing.
Guns are just tools to project power. They (guns) are just the evolution of the bow, which is the evolution of the atlatl, which is the evolution of the spear.
The tool has always mattered less than the act, and people get obsessed about guns, but it's not the guns. It's never been the guns (or the spears) - it's always been the people. With that in mind, I don't think we should trivialize the act of killing because it's for food - it's still serious and it still affects people. I say that as someone who has hunted deer and elk for food in North America for most of my life.
Hard times create strong men was the generation immediately before Walz. Being born in 1964 he is at the tail end of the worst generation of humans to ever grace the planet. We will all be better off when the boomers die off.
Not all are. However, statistically most baby boomers are like that in my experience. If they aren't raging narcissists with a horrible case of "fuck you, got mine, then they are suffering from a wicked combination of lead poisoning and normal age-based cognitive decline. Every generation has its issues, it's just that that particular generation was and still is largely in control of the steering wheel politically and have voted for things that would enrich themselves at the cost of their children and grandchildrens future. To say that their cohort will not be missed is an understatement. If you happen to fall outside what I just described, then awesome. Happy you managed to not end up like 90% of the rest of your generation.
You’re not wrong, but the next generation of leaders doesn’t give me much hope either. Seems like all the millennials have been graced with excessive mental and emotional traumas of growing up with the world falling apart around them. We’re just as likely to ascribe to any crazy belief system that seems like it may benefit society even if it’s founded on lies and propaganda. I mean, millennials are who all the woke mentality took its roots in. I guess it’s up to the iPad generation…. god we’re doomed.
This, I teach at a Junior College and am amazed at my students (all 20 ish) cant do simple math. Sorry, but every generation ha sits issues. I put all three of my children through college (Since my dad did that for me). They all got degrees, in two cases more than one and didn't have any college debt.
That’s great, & I’ve got 3 undergrads & a graduates degree myself, but honestly I feel like I’ve taught myself more since I’ve been out of college just from reading and watching videos on different subjects than I ever learned in college. I’m also aware that most people don’t seem to be quite as innately driven towards the acquisition of knowledge as I am & perhaps the structure of school is beneficial to them. I wanted to be a professor when I was in college & stay in academia, but I began to notice that universities seemed to be focusing more on politics and filling up with administrative bureaucracy instead of actually focusing on giving kids a real education. Universities hiring 5x the admin staff and less actual professors. I only cared about science and didn’t give a shit about all of the social justice warrior savior complex circle jerks going on within the staff. I was there between 2008-2015 when all of that stuff was just getting started and it really turned me off on academia. I look back at some of the people I used to be connected to through that time of my life and a lot of them are the most pompous, smug, holier-than-thou, hypocrites I’ve ever known. It seems to me that a lot of academia has become social clubs that you must abide by their strict rules and not step out of line or you will be destroyed. You can’t disagree, you cant challenge someone with a new theory that goes against what they’ve “spent their whole life trying to prove” when they have a higher standing than you, etc. A lot of it has become stagnant and dogmatic. People wonder where all the Einstein’s and Bohr’s of our generation are but the fact is, they’d probably just be discredited and run through the mud for questioning the current narrative. We are taught to fall in line and do what we’re told rather than to think freely and openly discuss our creative thoughts. I see evidence that a lot of the stagnation of mind is a direct result of universities. They create technicians, not inventors.
Although I find this opinion to be pretty vile, I find it amusing that the hippy commies of today treat boomers the way boomer hippy commies treated their elders back in the 60s.
After the FBI killed two Kennedys and a King in the 1960s the fudd club exploded in popularity.
Exactly that generation bought into the lies and blamed the guns rather than the Federal Agencies. Gen X and older decided it was best to "Keep your rifle by your side".
Uh…. Doing different accents such as southern and other American accents has nothing to do with being biracial. It’s a mockery and shouldn’t be taken to anything other than that.
I mean its one of the things. Really the 2A is about having the freedom to do with your firearms any legal application you wish. (Obviously you dont have the right to commit crimes and not face consequences).
Walz us a straight up cuckholed bitch that fucks teenage boys. With that being said, I hunt with people that look awkward at first when hunting because they only do it for a couple days a year, yet they love it and can hit birds sometimes, but that's why I'm there to clean up. I won't dog anyone who gets out there and trys.
Temporary pain for long term gains. That's how tariffs are supposed to work.
USA is unique, it's not like Britain levying a tariff. America can basically self sustain, we're only getting from China because labor is cheaper. If China is forced to take in American products or face a tariff and high prices on the markets for their goods it's a net gain for the American market.
The Chinese companies are the ones paying the tariffs, it's the American companies importing the goods that pay, hence the inflation we are seeing right now. Thanks to Republicans and your Orange Clown we have been paying for their stupidity. Oh wait doesn't the Trump circus have manufacturing licenses in China, but that wouldn't be another grift on the American people now would it?.
That's how tariffs work. It's a fine on the company importing it. This is basic economics 101. If it costs more to import then it becomes a disincentive to import that product and make it domestically. Which will raise the price but the goal is to have more people domestically producing that product which then offsets the price raise because people now have employment and higher pay in order to pay for that product.
Right, and then the extra costs are put on the consumer, which drives up inflation and we have the economic mess we are in now,but everyone likes to blame Biden for inflation.n
He and the Republicans are responsible because it was their policies and control that created the problem. We don't manufacture enough supplies and or products in this country to offset the imports, again thanks to Republicans in the early 00's that gave breaks to companies that moved manufacturing and jobs over to China and India. Atleast Obama was able to get the US a good deal on the imports until Trump blew it all up. History affects the future but is easily forgotten.
What can the Democrats do when they have no power to influence. Even when Obama had some Democratic legislative help they could get the Affordable Care Act through as it's entire package. The Republicans filibustered the proceedings and stripped down the program to its least favorable options. Republicans stand and call Democrats and Leftists weak and corrupt, but then bitch and complain about how shit is.
Court packing was a Democrat tactic until the Republicans got wise to it. If you're complaining about how the American government system works get in line. It's a log jam by design. Remember what happened when the Democrats got rid of the super majority rule? Or maybe you don't. That's how Republicans got their SCOTUS picks in. As for corruption, how's Pelosi doing? Feinstine was in there past due date. Who was running her show? Don't point fingers at a mirror.
I could name 50 corrupt Republicans and yiu are right the system is fucked but why then would you vote to hurt the people around you in your own community by voting to give Corporations more control that a citizen.
Here's where Democrat voters fail. They put their hopes and dreams and asperations into their politicians. They look up to them, they're role models.
Republicans know their politicians are dreck. They mistrust them and the entire government in general so a politician who fails is just doing what politicians do. Republicans have others to look to for their moral locus.
I do, but I would also argue that business are smart enough to use Mexico as a pass through as they already are to sidestep the steel tariffs. So the tarries sound good but have no real action. But I'm sure you know that too.
I guess you're the only one who knows about the Mexico loophole. No one else in the government knows a thing about it. We'll just keep it between you and me.
It's called nafta and it isn't changing. Too much big money to both sides of the aisle o close that. Most people don't want to do half the jobs that left over 29 years ago. They're getting to the jobs we're willing to do now. Just cause I know about ot how many poorly informed voters don't know about it.
Your pheasants must be pussies where you live, I have to violently expell at least 7 a month. They're having a gang war with he quail and I'm just in the middle.
Do they really think we will believe the gaslighting he and Kamala are trying to pull off? That their real position on guns is what they said in the last 45 days, and to ignore the trend they established for them selves over the last decade or two?
Think about it dude, there’s still real people with Kamala signs in their yard. They forgot just 2 months ago that the Democratic Party lied to them for 3 years about Biden’s health. Lmfao…
They don't care. The ride or die democrats would happily be slaves so long as the chain around their neck is painted blue. Same for many Republicans as well.
It’s crazy because democrats today stand for literally the opposite values that they used to stand for, yet people still buy into it. Never in a million years would Bush, Cheney, and all the other neocons endorsing Kamala ever back the Democratic Party of JFK. The fact that the neocons are endorsing Kamala just proves that shes going to be pro-war, pro-military industrial complex, pro-establishment, etc. Literally the opposite of the old dem party that was anti-war, anti-establishment. How do they not see that their party has been corrupted when all the honorable democrats are leaving in droves like RFK & Tulsi? I’m literally floored at how blind people must be.
I used to be a full blown libtard. One day I realized I couldnt lie and pretend to be a victim any longer. Made me sick to pretend to be a downtrodden victim of society.
Makes me even more sick to see people doing this 7 years later.
Yeah, I was a liberal back in the day too. I was just liberal politically & not much of an “activist” per se, but I began to notice how all my liberal friends were just constantly playing the victim or telling other people who were perfectly happy how bad they should feel about being oppressed. Then, as a white guy, I also eventually began to be seen as “the oppressor” even though I was their friend and everything I did or said was judged through as though I was a bad person just for being who I was and I was treated as if I was supposed to just completely censor my whole being and submit to women and minorities. That’s when I began seeing the woke mind virus that had infiltrated the left and it had become more of a sacrificial cult than a set of ideals. Like, I’m all for a lot of the things the left says they’re for, but it’s mostly just a facade. They say they want “equality” when really they want “equity”, which to most of them means “complete control”. Because with equity, the person who is the lowest, most “oppressed”, saddest little piece of shit nothing, gets given the most to make up for it. So everyone just competes to be the shittiest saddest worst victim in order to be able to say they deserve everything.
Lol you got downvoted because you basically called out the vast majority of this website. People will say "That's bigotry! That's Nazism!" when all you said was that you shouldn't have to feel less than others. I thought we were all supposed to be equal? Yet I keep seeing that only I'm supposed to be tolerant and feel bad about my skin color. And the wild part is that other countries and races are far more sexist and racist than the average White nation. Yet we're criticized?
Dude, I’m over it. I’m all for equality, but when it just becomes reverse racism & reverse sexism it’s just over correcting & going back downhill. That’s when we start losing freedoms. It’s literally 1984 thought police & doublespeak. They hide behind “helping the oppressed” which should be a good cause, but use it to control people’s behavior in a mob mentality.
They're trying to get people to believe that the 2nd amendment is about grandpa's hunting shotgun and a 9mm kept unloaded and locked in a safe at home.
Much less the history of our nation & the world that is slowly being rewritten or forgotten entirely. If people actually studied and understood history, they would immediately realize why the 2nd amendment is very crucial to the prevention of our becoming a corrupt and enslaved nation. Historically, If a nation isn’t invaded and overtaken (in which case we will still need our guns) then its end will come by the corruption of government and the subjugation of its people. Historically, this is almost a guarantee. Somehow people think that we are now special and that could never happen again.
Nobody has forgotten. But Kamala's "I'll ban entire categories of guns by executive order" comments are far more concerning than Trump supporting red flag laws.
You and I both know that is pandering to her base because the current 6-3 Supreme Court would never allow that to stand. It would take Congress making actual legislation for it to stick.
Trump is a spineless piece of shit but he panders to his voters and that means playing nice with us dumb gun toting hill billies so he does exactly that 99% of the time.
It is interesting to watch how much mileage Dems get from this one off-the-cuff statement, as if they aren't somehow worse by several orders of magnitude on this very issue.
But that's exactly what he was talking about. It was a conversation about red flag laws. He simply suggested that law enforcement should seize the guns first, and then go to court to justify it (or return them). He was wrong for saying it, but it was nothing like what you're pretending he said.
It is a step above what Trump said about “taking guns first, due process after” which was the original context of the conversation, yes. I don’t want ANYONE coming for mine, but pretending red flag laws are the same thing as Trump’s “seize the guns” quote is asinine.
She’s an ex-DA who is able to still own a firearm. Trump literally said he’d take guns away with no due process. How is that worse from a firearm perspective?
Assault Weapon Bans, Mandatory Buy Backs (no due process there) - previous statements on pistols, carry permits etc
Like I said Trump is an ass, and while I disagree with his statement it was (paraphrase) Take First - Due Process Second etc…they both suck, she sucks more (actually kinda how she got as far as she did in politics)
I’d like to take a moment to recognize and appreciate how far gun culture has come. Proud of you guys for shitting on this horrible attempt at pandering.
i love all these comments that act like the second amendment gives us the right to defense and firearms when it's natural law. the basics. fuck the constitution. that doc isn't worthy of being toilet paper.
yet we rely on a piece of paper and allow others to observe or not observe it lol. chop your barrel below carbine and then go tell the authorities you did so and have a stock on it.
it's so laughable people talk about "rights." everything in the constitution is shit.
people who don't own property, women, people who don't have any kids, people with no conviction, non natives and others can vote which is wrong.
Meanwhile, Trump is raging that he can't have a gun related photo op since he is a 34x (and counting) felon and Vance is raging that no one will let him near the furniture.
Don’t forget the Brady Bill had a lot of GOP support. And as I’ve said before listen to Trump’s speech the day after the Parkland shooting, he said more about changing the laws than just about any mainstream Dem has ever said. You call it Fudd but a lot of people refer to it as common sense.
Some of you should stick to video games, you shouldn’t own a real firearm. You guys have no idea what it would be like to go against the government or what that would do to our country.
Many complain because bird hunting only represents a specific slice of overall gun use, and two, many see it as just another PR photo op to pander votes to save face for being against "assault weapons".
Oh yeah and he proved so well that the left is knowledgeable and capable with a firearm (couldn't load "his own" gun and couldn't drop one bird on a private hunting club)
Bird hunting and other sporting game requires X amount of fluorescent orange on head and chest combined while walking so other hunters can visibly see you at greater distances and avoid any accidents that could occur.
Other sports such as archery you can walk to your tree stand and sit while in full camouflage.
That's Delmer Fudd, Elmer's dumber brother who doesn't know how to load his own shotgun. He used to be a skeet shooter except skeets don't have much meat on them...
The right to bear arms wasn’t protected by a 2nd amendment because folks were scared of the deer. It was so the next the idiots dumb enough to try to take our rights would learn the hard way on how the first idiots failed.
The ATF will continue do what they want until the ATF is actually held accountable. Then when Liberals get into office consecutively they will flip the supreme court just like the Supreme Court switched Roe v Wade (I don’t care what side of the aisle you’re on). Nothing is set in stone and we are all part of elites’/1%’ers game. We have 3 conservative Supreme Court justices who are 70+ years old and will likely retire soon. If you all can’t see this coming then you’re in denial. We have small victories now but with big losses coming up with a liberal leaning Supreme Court likely in the near future. The only way to win is stay diligent, vote accordingly and make your voice heard on the state and federal level.
Huntings fine but the government has no business regulating firearms or the ways in which they can be used.
hunting, recreation or otherwise absolutely none should have interferences by government actor
Elmer Fudd? As opposed to fucking who? The traitor Russian puppet conman who banned bump stocks and wanted to nuke a hurricane?
I'd love to vote for a more pro-2a candidate, if there was one who wasn't literally planning on dismantling our nation's democracy and being, I quote, "A dictator on day one".
Hey remember when he saluted a dictatorship's general? This is who you want me to fucking vote for instead of Walz? HAHAHAHAHAHA.
No, I don't like their plans for rifles that go bang when each time you pull the trigger. Yes, they suck for that. Pity the other side sucks 50 order of magnitude more.
Not defending the “ I have a Glock” or the “ If someone breaks into my house, they’re getting shot” lip service we’ve been getting recently, but I have a feeling your comment describes more of this subreddit, and some other related subreddits, than it should.
I truly don't give a f about hunting outside of being happy for those who can do it, to do it. I live in the city. My guns are quite literally to take human life who try to threaten that which is irreplaceable to me.
That and some trap shooting... Trap shooting heads off those home invaders stuck in my stairwell.
What is his opinion about Project 2025, which from my understanding is Trumps plan to replace leadership in this country to be loyal to him, thus turning our country to an authoritarian state, where Trump could activate the National Guard, with congress approval, federally paid, under title 32, where posse comitatus act doesn’t apply, and under the command of a loyal state governor to eradicated the designated insurance group that is trying to topple Trump regime?
I would also like his opinion on how We the People of the United States of America can defends against this tyrant regime that Project 2025 is about.
If you think Trump's doing stuff for himself, you missed the plot like a gud sheep. How much richer is he as a result of being POTUS for four years? Did the USA turn into a fascist regime? Did any of the things they told you would happen even happen? Heck, all the people who said they were going to leave didn't even leave, let that sink in. A bunch of liars and gaslighters.
If you interpreted my message as someone that really thinks that Project 2025 is realistic, you missed out on what I was trying to say.
You have the Dems pushing this project 2025 that Trump is going to destroy America. You also have Dems pushing banning firearms (or certain types), trying to manipulate the original purpose of the 2nd, which is to arm the militia (we the people) to defend ourselves for tyranny, the Project 2025 the Dems are saying will happen if Trump is elected. You can’t defend yourself from tyranny if you don’t arm the people.
I never once said that anything of that nature happened in the past, ever politician has profited during their terms, and I think this whole Project 2025 is full of shit just as much as the politicians that run this country, GOP or Dems.
Ok dude. He ain’t a politician, but he don’t give a fuck unless it’s about him which fits the description of what President Washington said in his farewell address. Trump wants his legacy. That’s all. He wants to toot his horn. From a 2A perspective, comparing Trump and Harris individually, neither are Pro-2A. One however, will set the stage better for us 2A than the other.
Still would favor a larping hunter than an election denying lier. I hate this election. Why couldn’t republicans chosen a decent candidate and not a crazy person. I’ve been a 2A advocate for longer than most here have been alive but my hand is forced, I believe in democracy and the republic and that is what this election is about.
The 2A isn’t about hunting. I’m being lectured by “educated” politicians who genuinely believe the Founding Fathers who just got done fighting an empire on their home turf thought they needed to protect the right to own guns for hunting.
For once a believable picture of a politician hunting. I’ll never forget the Ted Cruz photo from a couple years ago with him in a gray hoodie and what I think were blue jeans next to an animal.
Rich and elite people tend to not care of your choice in how you choose to defend yourself. They want to tell you what is the best way and how you should or shouldn’t defend yourself in your own home and person. They want to dictate how you do that while they work and live behind armed security.

NPLMACTUAL@reddit
its all propaganda. no politician cares about you.
BlueChimp5@reddit
I’m aware of that, they still have radically different ideas as to how to run this country.
I don’t need them to care about me, just maintain our national defense, keep law and order and define the rules of the game we play.
That’s all a government should do
NPLMACTUAL@reddit
there’s a need, and a demand for a neutral leader. one that doesn’t try to play red vs blue. these two candidates are the opposite of that. i’m not trying to rile you up or anything, but, to bring back up my original statement. believing republican or democrat propaganda is dumb as shit.
BlueChimp5@reddit
Again you don’t have to believe any propaganda to understand that we have two choices in this election
It really doesn’t matter who you or I wish could have been a candidate, or how badly we think it is rigged
The reality is one of these two candidates will win in November whether you think it’s a fair election or not

Synectics@reddit
The picture is timestamped in the link as September of 2023. He was under Federal indictment at the time, hence the issue.
The minute a politician is above an average citizen is the minute most people want the 2A to lean on.
saladmunch2@reddit
Thanks you for the info.
And yes I completely agree.
Synectics@reddit
No prob, I had to do a little searching to reply accurately.
And I'd totally hear arguments that being under indictment doesn't mean you should immediately lose rights. That's a discussion. But as is, just like we all can grumble about regulations and tax stamps, we still jump the hoops to not be criminals. At the time, Trump owning a gun is an issue.
Hopefully it was worked out, outside the court, because as far as I know, he was never punished for it. I could also understand that. "Hey, you can't do this; let's fix it," and courts don't get involved. That's pretty average citizen, at least from my (maybe privileged) experience.
iyaoyas1@reddit
This is what you asked for regardless of criminality.

Nillion@reddit
Most gun owners shoot like 50 rounds at an indoor range and call it a day. They never encountered anything beyond maybe a stove pipe from limp wringing their Glock.
Polidamn@reddit
Yeah you can see his left hand filling up with shells. Definitely just unloading it.
lowbar4570@reddit
Kinda what I thought too. And unloading semi autos is tricky for most people.
FuckkPTSD@reddit
Push button next to the bottom of the lifter, rack round into chamber, rack round out of chamber. REPEAT
lowbar4570@reddit
Oh, I don’t have issues at all. But I see alot of people have issues. I tend to just press the slide inside, next to the lifter and it releases the shotshell from the inside of the magazine tube back through the loading chamber. This way I don’t have live rounds going into the chamber.
turtle_with_dentures@reddit
Why would this even matter. If you honestly think your hammer will drop when a round goes in to the chamber then you shouldn't think it's safe enough to chamber a round to begin with. If you can't trust your gun to safely cycle rounds then you shouldn't be using it at all.
The whole line of thinking reeks of fudd lore.
lowbar4570@reddit
You must not shoot alot of skeet or sporting clays. It’s always favorably looked upon at the clubs to not chamber live rounds unless you are actively shooting.
turtle_with_dentures@reddit
wtf are you on about?!
Bro no one gives a fuck if you cycle rounds to unload.
lowbar4570@reddit
I don’t know. Maybe my clubs are different. I got my ass chewed by a guy for chambering rounds to unload a gun.
Washee23@reddit
That guy was obviously a moron.
lowbar4570@reddit
Sounds like it.
lord_dentaku@reddit
I only own two tube fed guns, one pump and one lever action, and they definitely aren't my go to guns. I suck at unloading them. I also don't like running live rounds through the chamber. Hell, on my bolt guns with internal magazines I drop the magazine to unload them even though it's a pain in the ass to get it lined back up and reinstalled. I shoot the bolt actions a lot more, but I don't regularly unload without also extracting the bullet from each case first, so it isn't something I practice regularly.
Cyberfreshman@reddit
Took me a minute the FIRST time I tried to unload one too.
MasterJacO@reddit
lol I see what you did there
yrunsyndylyfu@reddit
Yes.
It has a patented thing.
Able_Twist_2100@reddit
Looks like he's trying to unload it?
They do have a patented thingamajig to not pull from the magazine, idk how it works but I also haven't owned a beretta for decades.
yrunsyndylyfu@reddit
I don't think he knows what he's trying to do.
The patented thing he was talking about was a buttpad on the stock.
thereddaikon@reddit
Some models have a "kickoff" recoil reduction in the stock. I don't think that one does. The blue receiver is an older model.
sylkworm@reddit
I expected this to be way higher.
El_Caganer@reddit
As an a400 owner, I facepalmed initially. But I think he was unloading the shotty without the shells ejecting onto the ground. He just looked awkward asf while doing it.
thereddaikon@reddit
It's also the A400 Xcel sporting which is a sporting clays gun, not the hunting model. Still a very nice shotgun but a strange choice to make. Probably because they just got him a random one for the photo OP.
TaskForceD00mer@reddit
That he claims he used for trap shooting all the time.
Domestic_AAA_Battery@reddit

youy23@reddit
Yet he’s “been to war” like he says. Must have been out there like rambo with quad nods every night.
smokeyser@reddit
I saw that. I don't know if it was because he doesn't usually use that gun, or nerves, or just an ordinary fuckup. But, to be fair, that wasn't his first hunt. He attends and even hosts hunting events pretty regularly. Usually in the form of a deer hunt with a small group to celebrate opening day, but I did see something about a governor's annual turkey hunt (though not sure if it continued since year 2 would have been 2020).
dadbodsupreme@reddit
Managed to screw it up on a shotgun with excellent ergos.
TN_REDDIT@reddit
Well, if he shoots trap with it, he very well may have never loaded more than one shell in it. My gun club has a one shell rule for trap
turtle_with_dentures@reddit
Your gun club doesn't shoot doubles? Pretty sure that's a staple of trap.
But also most people are just using an OU for trap anyways. Very rare to see someone with a semi. Cause then you're either messing around with a shell catch, or pissing off the guy in the next lane.
TN_REDDIT@reddit
Do you think I was talking about doubles? You're not that dumb.
I've never used an o/u In fact, today 5 of us shot a round and only one of us had an o/u (1 pump, 2 semis, and a single)
My buddy and I use a rubber band/hair tie to catch our shells. Works nicely. We're not a pretentious group.

Random thoughts in no particular order…..
IMO some of you are not the type of American our forefathers were thinking of when they created the Second Amendment.

m3sarcher@reddit
Well fuck law and order, eh? Fuck the blue I guess is your new slogan?
popsmokeimout@reddit
What felony did actually get convicted of?
m3sarcher@reddit
34 counts of falsifying business records in order to influence an election. That is the conviction, but there are three other felony cases ongoing. Lying about possessing secret documents and refusing to return them. Pressuring officials in Georgia to rig their election results. And attempting to stop the certification of the election by Mike Pence by instigating the Jan 6 riot, pressuring Mike Pence to "do the right thing' and refusing to act to stop the riot. You should know these things.
popsmokeimout@reddit
How many of those has he been convicted of?
m3sarcher@reddit
One so far, the others are underway. A better question is how many of those has he been found innocent of, which would be none so far.
popsmokeimout@reddit
Civll law and criminal law are two separate proceedings. The felony you're talking about was a civil case, based off of probability. Unfortunately for you there wasn't evidence to pursue criminal prosecution.
m3sarcher@reddit
Wow, you are confidently wrong. It was a criminal case and it was a felony conviction. How does one get convicted of a felony in a civil case? Learn your stuff, dude.
popsmokeimout@reddit
What case?
m3sarcher@reddit

What article is it?
stugotsDang@reddit
Same title: https://www.cbsnews.com/amp/news/tim-walz-pheasant-hunting-beretta-minnesota/
Synectics@reddit
Why are you concerned about the headline? Did you read the article? Did anyone here read the article that you're linking to?
Because OP clearly just grabbed the headline, poorly cropped a photo, typed in a headline in MSPaint, added an ellipsis, and posted it here to farm engagement from you.
stugotsDang@reddit
Read the article, why does it matter. He literally is doing what the title says. No different than his running mate. No one’s buying it. This dude is getting axed anyway because of the SA charges coming up.
Synectics@reddit
You're being deceived by these dumb memes, and news organizations obsessed with clicks on top of that.
stugotsDang@reddit
Hunting all the time that he couldn’t load the shotgun properly on video. Smh
Synectics@reddit
You've watched the video? Because I just had to look it up, and every source is Fox News, who preempts the actual 3 second clip with their story of what is going on.
What do you see in the video with no commentary?
stugotsDang@reddit
He bought the gun when he was “shooting a lot of trap”. What I see in the video is someone who was having trouble loading and cycling the action.
Hunting and shooting sports is not what 2A is about. I said it before and I’ll say it again. He had this photo op to ponder to gun owners. It’s a bullshit ploy. Democrats do not like 2A and even some republicans, however when you have to choose between the two evils I’ll stick with republicans.
You should research the sexual assault charge this dude is about to get hit with and how Kamala’s team is going to get rid of him in a next few days.
Synectics@reddit
It was a 3 second clip. What in the world are you on about? He's talking to someone and putting shells into the magazine and action. That's all. There's nothing there that indicates to me any sort of failure of loading. If you're somehow coming to a conclusion from that, I don't know how to even engage in reasonable conversation with you.
And the allegations? What is the source for that? Please name it.
stugotsDang@reddit
Then keep scrolling. He even says he had trouble with it at the beginning of the clip. Holy shit dude, you’re just like talking to a wall. You came here for what reason?
You’ve done nothing but act like we aren’t reading anything meanwhile you haven’t done a drop of research let alone seen video I told about until just now. Do your own research and stop spreading your bullshit opinion like you know what you are talking about.

They frequent pawnshops in the Minneapolis area and sometimes they get lucky and get some really nice old Mauser and Really nice bolt guns for pretty cheap prices .

Roguewolfe@reddit
Why? How? Because we don't eat people very often?

I put all three of my children through college (Since my dad did that for me). They all got degrees, in two cases more than one and didn't have any college debt.
Stellakinetic@reddit

Exactly that generation bought into the lies and blamed the guns rather than the Federal Agencies. Gen X and older decided it was best to "Keep your rifle by your side".

So the fact that all the boomer gun owners I know have ccw licenses and AR-15s must be a fluke.

'Appeal to fill in the black group'
They're running like it's 1988 over here. Politics has moved way beyond that. 'Oh look he has a gun, I sure like that. Gets muh vote'
Average voter is a bit more sophisticated than that these days. For good and for bad.
Ftank55@reddit
Not particularly. Teump said gonna tariff china thinking it somehow doesn't hurt the average American amd people are all for it
TaterKugel@reddit
Temporary pain for long term gains. That's how tariffs are supposed to work.
USA is unique, it's not like Britain levying a tariff. America can basically self sustain, we're only getting from China because labor is cheaper. If China is forced to take in American products or face a tariff and high prices on the markets for their goods it's a net gain for the American market.
But like, you know that don't you?
BigJakesr@reddit
The Chinese companies are the ones paying the tariffs, it's the American companies importing the goods that pay, hence the inflation we are seeing right now. Thanks to Republicans and your Orange Clown we have been paying for their stupidity. Oh wait doesn't the Trump circus have manufacturing licenses in China, but that wouldn't be another grift on the American people now would it?.
TaterKugel@reddit
That's how tariffs work. It's a fine on the company importing it. This is basic economics 101. If it costs more to import then it becomes a disincentive to import that product and make it domestically. Which will raise the price but the goal is to have more people domestically producing that product which then offsets the price raise because people now have employment and higher pay in order to pay for that product.
In theory.
BigJakesr@reddit
Right, and then the extra costs are put on the consumer, which drives up inflation and we have the economic mess we are in now,but everyone likes to blame Biden for inflation.n
TaterKugel@reddit
So if extra costs are on consumers currently then who is responsible for those costs? Trump isn't president as far as I can tell.
BigJakesr@reddit
He and the Republicans are responsible because it was their policies and control that created the problem. We don't manufacture enough supplies and or products in this country to offset the imports, again thanks to Republicans in the early 00's that gave breaks to companies that moved manufacturing and jobs over to China and India. Atleast Obama was able to get the US a good deal on the imports until Trump blew it all up. History affects the future but is easily forgotten.
TaterKugel@reddit
So zero accountability to the Democrats always and forever.
BigJakesr@reddit
What can the Democrats do when they have no power to influence. Even when Obama had some Democratic legislative help they could get the Affordable Care Act through as it's entire package. The Republicans filibustered the proceedings and stripped down the program to its least favorable options. Republicans stand and call Democrats and Leftists weak and corrupt, but then bitch and complain about how shit is.
TaterKugel@reddit
Court packing was a Democrat tactic until the Republicans got wise to it. If you're complaining about how the American government system works get in line. It's a log jam by design. Remember what happened when the Democrats got rid of the super majority rule? Or maybe you don't. That's how Republicans got their SCOTUS picks in. As for corruption, how's Pelosi doing? Feinstine was in there past due date. Who was running her show? Don't point fingers at a mirror.
BigJakesr@reddit
I could name 50 corrupt Republicans and yiu are right the system is fucked but why then would you vote to hurt the people around you in your own community by voting to give Corporations more control that a citizen.
TaterKugel@reddit
I can name 100 corrupt Democrats.
Ftank55@reddit
I do, but I would also argue that business are smart enough to use Mexico as a pass through as they already are to sidestep the steel tariffs. So the tarries sound good but have no real action. But I'm sure you know that too.
TaterKugel@reddit
I guess you're the only one who knows about the Mexico loophole. No one else in the government knows a thing about it. We'll just keep it between you and me.
Ftank55@reddit
It's called nafta and it isn't changing. Too much big money to both sides of the aisle o close that. Most people don't want to do half the jobs that left over 29 years ago. They're getting to the jobs we're willing to do now. Just cause I know about ot how many poorly informed voters don't know about it.
TaterKugel@reddit
You know who doesn't care about the money? A filthy rich guy who already made his bundle. That's part of Trumps appeal, or was back in '16.
As for willing to work. If men are still working on oil rigs or any other tough job, they're still willing to roll steel.

MasterJacO@reddit
Think about it dude, there’s still real people with Kamala signs in their yard. They forgot just 2 months ago that the Democratic Party lied to them for 3 years about Biden’s health. Lmfao…
No-Researcher-6186@reddit
They don't care. The ride or die democrats would happily be slaves so long as the chain around their neck is painted blue. Same for many Republicans as well.
Stellakinetic@reddit
I’m literally floored at how blind people must be.
mondaymoderate@reddit
You lost me once you said “honorable” democrats like RFK and Tulsi. Lmao
PassportToNowhere@reddit
I used to be a full blown libtard. One day I realized I couldnt lie and pretend to be a victim any longer. Made me sick to pretend to be a downtrodden victim of society.
Makes me even more sick to see people doing this 7 years later.
Stellakinetic@reddit
Domestic_AAA_Battery@reddit
Lol you got downvoted because you basically called out the vast majority of this website. People will say "That's bigotry! That's Nazism!" when all you said was that you shouldn't have to feel less than others. I thought we were all supposed to be equal? Yet I keep seeing that only I'm supposed to be tolerant and feel bad about my skin color. And the wild part is that other countries and races are far more sexist and racist than the average White nation. Yet we're criticized?
Stellakinetic@reddit
Dude, I’m over it. I’m all for equality, but when it just becomes reverse racism & reverse sexism it’s just over correcting & going back downhill. That’s when we start losing freedoms. It’s literally 1984 thought police & doublespeak. They hide behind “helping the oppressed” which should be a good cause, but use it to control people’s behavior in a mob mentality.
Thatsthatandchicken@reddit

Karukaya@reddit
People don’t remember what happened two weeks ago, much less two years ago.
Stellakinetic@reddit
Much less the history of our nation & the world that is slowly being rewritten or forgotten entirely. If people actually studied and understood history, they would immediately realize why the 2nd amendment is very crucial to the prevention of our becoming a corrupt and enslaved nation. Historically, If a nation isn’t invaded and overtaken (in which case we will still need our guns) then its end will come by the corruption of government and the subjugation of its people. Historically, this is almost a guarantee. Somehow people think that we are now special and that could never happen again.

Nobody has forgotten. But Kamala's "I'll ban entire categories of guns by executive order" comments are far more concerning than Trump supporting red flag laws.
zyrkseas97@reddit
You and I both know that is pandering to her base because the current 6-3 Supreme Court would never allow that to stand. It would take Congress making actual legislation for it to stick.
youy23@reddit
Trump is a spineless piece of shit but he panders to his voters and that means playing nice with us dumb gun toting hill billies so he does exactly that 99% of the time.
snuffy_bodacious@reddit
It is interesting to watch how much mileage Dems get from this one off-the-cuff statement, as if they aren't somehow worse by several orders of magnitude on this very issue.
thecampfirefriar@reddit
Did you forget that this is unironically what Democrats actively promote via their insistence of “Red Flag" laws?
PadKrapowKhaiDao@reddit
A red flag law requires a judge to approve it before seizure, so no, not the same at all .
smokeyser@reddit
But that's exactly what he was talking about. It was a conversation about red flag laws. He simply suggested that law enforcement should seize the guns first, and then go to court to justify it (or return them). He was wrong for saying it, but it was nothing like what you're pretending he said.
thecampfirefriar@reddit
And that's due process to you? 3rd parties signing off your rights behind your back?
Legal strongarming to snoop for potentially committed crimes is a position I'll never understand, but you do you.
PadKrapowKhaiDao@reddit
It is a step above what Trump said about “taking guns first, due process after” which was the original context of the conversation, yes. I don’t want ANYONE coming for mine, but pretending red flag laws are the same thing as Trump’s “seize the guns” quote is asinine.
thecampfirefriar@reddit
One line once is not a step below an entire political affiliation using the law to abuse gun owners, if you're talking about asinine opinions.
HEMSDUDE@reddit
Trump may be an ass but Harris is still worse

Assault Weapon Bans, Mandatory Buy Backs (no due process there) - previous statements on pistols, carry permits etc Like I said Trump is an ass, and while I disagree with his statement it was (paraphrase) Take First - Due Process Second etc…they both suck, she sucks more (actually kinda how she got as far as she did in politics)

I never once said that anything of that nature happened in the past, ever politician has profited during their terms, and I think this whole Project 2025 is full of shit just as much as the politicians that run this country, GOP or Dems.
deftware@reddit
That's why Trump isn't a politician.
the_spacecowboy555@reddit
USArmyJoe@reddit
Bad bot
the_spacecowboy555@reddit
What’s that mean?
RR50@reddit
It would be better if he didn’t….then the bitching and moaning around here would be more reasonable.
Good lord, give it a rest…the guy went pheasant hunting, we should be happy about that.
HEMSDUDE@reddit

*The Second has ZERO to do with hunting
RR50@reddit
Hard to hunt without the second….whether it does or not, it’s the major part of gun owners.
silenttomato581@reddit
Still would favor a larping hunter than an election denying lier. I hate this election. Why couldn’t republicans chosen a decent candidate and not a crazy person. I’ve been a 2A advocate for longer than most here have been alive but my hand is forced, I believe in democracy and the republic and that is what this election is about.
14bk41@reddit
someone need to hand him an AR15 with scope backward...
MonthElectronic9466@reddit
And he fumbled like he has flippers trying to load it.
RogueFiveSeven@reddit
The 2A isn’t about hunting. I’m being lectured by “educated” politicians who genuinely believe the Founding Fathers who just got done fighting an empire on their home turf thought they needed to protect the right to own guns for hunting.
penguins8766@reddit
For once a believable picture of a politician hunting. I’ll never forget the Ted Cruz photo from a couple years ago with him in a gray hoodie and what I think were blue jeans next to an animal.
tjwest13@reddit
Out of touch is an understatement
PrometheanEngineer@reddit
I'd argue more in touch than any of the other 3.
The other 3 still make him look good. It's actually horribly sad.
PepperJack386@reddit
And if he had his way you'd need to register and get a license for that baretta.

The number of single-issue voters in this echo chamber of a sub is truly remarkable.

Amazing how you deduce that type of a blanket statement from this post.

Damn, I wish I could afford that. Even just to say I have it.
uffdamyuffda@reddit
Rich and elite people tend to not care of your choice in how you choose to defend yourself. They want to tell you what is the best way and how you should or shouldn’t defend yourself in your own home and person. They want to dictate how you do that while they work and live behind armed security.
FuckkPTSD@reddit
It’s a poor man’s 1301 don’t worry about it
Coho444@reddit
Second amendment is not about hunting
10gaugetantrum@reddit
Good for him, I guess. He still doesn't belong in office.

In best Elmer's voice Shush, be very very quiet. I'm hunting votes. He He He He
To be honest, the Beretta has a different manual of arms than the Remington 870 or 1100 and it took a little while to get use to the 1301.
