Any updates on James May: Our Man In... Season 4? Is it even happening? If so, where and what's the source?

(I didn't watch One For The Road yet, so if he did mention it there, NO SPOILERS, please.)

He's pretty open on social media about these things being filmed, and it's been a pretty long time since india now.
On top of that, he's signed up for a series tracking the routes of explorers on Channel 5 so I suspect that's the 'replacement'
Rab_Kendun@reddit
Yep, I would guess he did India to finish out his contract with Amazon and moved on.
I wonder how good the new show is, I've heard they were going to be operating on a shoestring budget compared to Amazon.
fudgeller83@reddit
I believe they signed up the three seasons one by one, and they got progressively worse reviews. I'd attribute very little of that to James but can easily see why Amazon would use that as an excuse to not renew further
With James, I have very little concern with budget as long as he has producer Tom with him. There's nothing flashy with his shows and he's been able to pull off shows where he literally stands in a kitchen or a shed
JeffafaCree@reddit
The Reassembler is the coziest damn show I've ever seen
schpydurx@reddit
Crazy damn good
thatautisticguy@reddit
Do we know when this airing?
fudgeller83@reddit
No idea. Assuming he's actually tracing the steps of the explorers and not just being a narrator in a studio, I don't think there's any sign he's been anywhere to film anything, so I'd guess mid-late 2025
thatautisticguy@reddit
I'd be under the assumption that the researchers would have done this beforehand, so hopefully he's presenting
UsidoreTheLightBlue@reddit
He was tweeting from the Santa Monica pier a couple of months ago, that’s the end of Route 66. It made me think he was finally getting to do his “our man in America” that was supposed to be season 2 Before Covid.
cyberdork@reddit
No, he was there for a short promo tour for his Gin.
thatautisticguy@reddit
Also, FUCK VIACOM
Robdotcom-71@reddit
I'd like to see another Oz Clarke and James May do their wine thing in Australia.
Nikiaf@reddit
Oz might be too old for that now, he’s 75 years old.
Vinlain458@reddit
Nah. Both those fatheads will be fine.
Emerald_Rain4@reddit
I know he’s not doing it anymore but his cooking show was amazing and I really wish he would continue it
Lunchy_Bunsworth@reddit
One programme which the BBC need to do something about is "Masterchef" and get rid of talentless slaphead Gregg Wallace and the Australian. James and Nikki could be replacements possibly with the return of Michel Roux Jnr as an expert chef.
Wallio_@reddit
Someone posted on here awhile ago that it would be in America, which would be.....strange.
AfonsoFGarcia@reddit
I think it would be way more interesting. He couldn’t really bring anything different being just another European in Italy.
7148675309@reddit
That was where he was supposed to go but went to Italy instead due to the pandemic - assuming it was filmed in 2021 when the “travel ban” was in force - and none of the production wanted to spend 15 days in Mexico/Aruba/Turkey etc to get around it.
potato_merchant@reddit
Just hope season 4 is longer again.
GreatBelgianWaffle@reddit
You’ve to pull James out of his comfortzone. Japan was his best episode, India was decent and Italy was boring.
AfonsoFGarcia@reddit
Japan is a place he loves and it shows. India was okish, a longer season may have been much better and less reliance on the jokes from Japan as well (RIP RoBoHoN).
Italy was just plain bad, not sure if because we’re all watching it from Europe and it’s not foreign or different to us or because they leaned too much into the let’s torture James angle for it.
pewpewledeux@reddit
Bim, guess what?
keithplacer@reddit
Japan was interesting and charming, the others were Not Good.
MayhemMessiah@reddit
I found India to be worse.
Italy was mostly him gushing about stuff he was already somewhat familiar with. But India just came and went and felt super… eh?
adithyadas430@reddit
As an Indian, he stuck to the ridiculously stereotypical older western travel circuit that has been done to death for decades. What a waste.
augiferkin@reddit
Can I cut the cheese?
cigarroycafe@reddit
India was the worse though
Sir_Yash@reddit
The India episode was lacking. I hate how his fixer kept trying to blame him from colonialism or have him apologize. Like get lost. And I'm a brown man
SituationalRambo@reddit
I think Australia or New Zealand would be neat, perhaps even the US of A
ladnan_121@reddit
He was supposed to do America but got replaced with Italy due to visa issues (might of been too entertaining)
Poultrygeist74@reddit
Or Man In Cuba or New Zealand
thatautisticguy@reddit
Watch one for the road, it'll bring you to tears, it did me, especially towards the end (no spoilers) but it's o e of the best
UHB2020@reddit
I hope so. India would be a terrible way to end it.
coverallfiller@reddit
It felt like the India one was cut short.
inbruges99@reddit
Yeah, I feel like there’s no way was it intended to be 3 episodes. Something went wrong on the shoot and a lot was either unusable and cut or never filmed.
Moaoziz@reddit
I've read somewhere in this sub that more episodes were planned but a lot of crewmen got sick so they couldn't film as much as they planned.
Crafty_Bar_2245@reddit
Yes it’s in Luton, he gets stabbed, tries the local kebabs and takes part in nicking a Fiesta
KeyboardMaestro@reddit
I hope it's going to be James May Our Man In.... America or Cuba.
I don't understand why the lads never been to Cuba for a special anyway!? Would've been hilarious.
Crocodilio_Pontifex@reddit
I met James at a Gin signing a couple months ago and asked about the "Our Man..." series and he said Amazon didn't want any more. I said, "I do." He said we should write to Amazon and let them know. He seemed little sad about it. Seems like that series is over....
extra_less@reddit
I heard Liverpool
CaptainAksh_G@reddit
I mean, James May is currently on a tour promoting his gin everywhere so maybe the most I think can happen is if he makes a series of that
But I think he'll make some vlogs just for his YouTube channel. (Source: Lucy Brown's recent YouTube update)
Doc891@reddit
if it was to happen, Id predict it would be in the Netherlands to promote James gin in the birthplace of gin. The real place Id want explored is a hispanic country, or one of the South American countries, or even just Spain. I think it would just be cool.
Vinlain458@reddit
Spoilers for the final episode, that's when The Grand Tour ends.
Camaro551@reddit (OP)
Dude!
Vinlain458@reddit
They also drive cars believe it or not.
Camaro551@reddit (OP)

Camaro551@reddit (OP)

Vinlain458@reddit
Yeees!
Maislaff@reddit
I would love it, but do you know someone with Parkinson ? I don't know Mr May in real life but it seems like he knows what it is. Lots of flags, I wish him the best.
BondG10@reddit
Watch it, you won’t regret it
Camaro551@reddit (OP)
I will
