It might seem minor, but as a female pilot, I see firsthand how assumptions based on gender can reinforce stereotypes. Making a ‘safe’ assumption can unintentionally exclude or invalidate people. Just because something is a majority doesn’t make it true. It’s about encouraging more thoughtful language and inclusion from the start, so we don’t need to rely on corrections later.
