Wtf is wrong with wizzair carry-on bags policy

I need to take an extra cabin bag, they offer Wizz Priority which costs 60 EUR for a short-haul direct flight ? How ridiculous is that? Any workaround?

Arrive to gate area, go in bathroom, Put on as much of your clothing as possible before getting on flight. Once in the air, take everything off & put in bag (that was folded into your carry-on)

Been there. Fun times

If it’s clothing, pack in a space bag and suck all the air out and wear your heaviest items onto the plane.

Years ago I was traveling over seas on some budget airline and my backpack was too heavy or wouldn’t fit. I literally looked like a clown character to not pay the extra $150 fee. Wearing 2 pants 2 shorts 3 jackets 3 belts. I made it on though haha. Just changed in the bathroom after takeoff.

Easy THIS. also 1 pair of shoes, you might get some flip flops in your carry on. If you need more than that pay the excess or pay for a premier carrier.

I don't see the problem. Just travel with the allotted luggage allowed for your LOW COST ticket. Anything more than that and they need to charge you for. It's why people (including me) use low cost carriers: for their insanely low cost tickets. And it's exactly why these carriers charge for 'extras' - so they can keep the low cost fares for those who want them.

I'm in the US so this might not be the same overseas, but I shipped a box to my destination for half the price of paying for an overhead bag on an ULFA.

Use a Stuffa Jacket. They hold around a cabin bags worth of kit inside them. I bring a foldable 40l duffel bag and pop that inside the Stuffa jacket too. Once past the gate agent, just put the clothes from the jacket back in the bag if you wish. Honestly, saved so much money with them.

They aren’t a charity - how do you think the base price is so cheap? They have to make money somehow and they make it on add ons

If you chose a regular airline, you'd get regular airline benefits like a cabin (carry-on) bag. I mean, it's *Wizz* Airlines!
lucapal1@reddit
Sure... but you usually pay for it!
Not many people use Wizzair because of their high quality...
MayaPapayaLA@reddit
Yep, exactly. OP needs to travel lighter.

"I ordered a cab, but he said he wouldn't move my piano".
What you needed and what you bought didn't align. This is user error.
guernica-shah@reddit
You don't need to buy Wizz Priority. Simply add a cabin bag to your booking. Should be a little cheaper.
trikristmas@reddit
It's the same for Ryanair and easyJet and other low cost carriers. You want the cheap flight, you gotta travel light. This isn't a Wizz Air thing
pixiepoops9@reddit
Flixbus or pay the price.
Ccandelario430@reddit
The price gaps for the different tiers seem to vary by route. I was looking to book flights from Uzbekistan to Abu Dhabi and to get a ticket that included a checked bag it was an extra $50 or $60 (pretty much the same price as the flight) from Tashkent to Abu Dhabi but from Samarkand to Abu Dhabi I only had to pay an extra $25 or so.
aStealthyWaffle@reddit
There's no workaround. Use a normal or premium airline if you want, their tickets are often about the same price as the budget airline tickets + baggage fees for the same route, maybe slightly more, or sometimes less.
A_britiot_abroad@reddit
That's how the budget airlines make their money after offering cheap fares.
SalamancaVice@reddit
Standard practice for the low cost carriers I'm afraid. Tickets are cheap, but they shaft you for the extras. Only way around it is to either pack lighter or pay the price.
If it's an extra 60EUR, maybe consider looking at alternative flights with non-budget carriers where you might have cabin baggage/checked bags included. Might get lucky and get a ticket has a higher fare cost, but works out cheaper once you factor in the extras included.
lucapal1@reddit
They make money from people who need to take baggage...
Work around? Use a legacy airline, not a low cost one.Of course the actual ticket usually costs a lot more.
Or...go carry-on only, like most people do on these airlines, particularly if they want to spend little money.
