Northern lights

They’re fading a bit now, but they’ve been visible this evening, and there should be another burst about 9pm. I’m fairly central, and they were really visible with a camera.

Could you see them without a camera? And are you just taking still photos with camera on phone or a proper camera?

Earlier I could just about see them with the naked eye after looking through my phone - like, if I knew what I was looking for I could see them. And just an iPhone 13, nothing fancy!

Ive Had no luck yet, im on outskirts of mk so technically less light pollution but nothing via naked eye.. got android samsung s23 and the night mode photos work fine, but it mormally has a few colours in sky with that mode anyway so hard to tell. Can you view it just through the phone without taking photo with an iphone? Or you had to take a pic first?
