Looking to REALLY upgrade

Have a decent chunk of money to spend on upgrading, this is my current build:
- 2047MB NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 2060
- AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6 core
- 32GB RAM at I think 3133mhz
- 1tb SSD
- Microstar MPG x570 gaming edge WiFi motherboard
Looking to play games at higher fps/resolutions. Currently ARMA 3 is a game I’d like try but is horrible FPS wise. Also looking to max out things like BG3, helldivers. Would love for better performance in Tarkov too.
Thank you!!!

If you want to save money, just get ryzen 57003d and a new GPU
ArchitectsPrevail@reddit (OP)
Dumb question but how big of an upgrade would that be do you think?
GonstroCZ@reddit
Also speaking about bios (saw your other reply) just searth on youtube "how to update bios", and the tutorials there should guide you much better than us here with words
GonstroCZ@reddit
You mean upgrading only CPU and GPU instead of a whole PC? I mean you have good mobo and RAM... x3D cpus are great, and 5700x3D can handle even RTX 4090 fine... so I would say a good upgrade :D
Upgrading from 3600+rtx 2060 to lets say 5700x3d + 4070 super / 7900gre would be a very big upgrade
Also make sure your PSU can handle new gpu and cpu cooler new cpu (if its not a stock cooler, then probably yes)
Crimbustime@reddit
Just buy a marked up 4090 for $2000. Lol
DardS8Br@reddit
Get a 5700x3d, a 7900xtx, and a decent OLED monitor
ArchitectsPrevail@reddit (OP)
Why OLED? I assume I want 144hz and lowest latency monitor as well?
DardS8Br@reddit
OLED has the best color, contrast, refresh rate, and latency

First, how much money do you mean by a decent chunck, and also what resolution. If you are going for 1440p ultra, here is a nice semi affordable list. A 7700x cpu, a 7900gre or 7900xt gpu, 32gb of ddr5 6000, and a 2tb m.2 ssd (I'd reccomend wd black sn850x). This should allow you to get above 80fps in nearly any game in 1440p, though some may be slightly lower. You will also need a new am5 motherboard that can support the ram you get, and likely a more powerfull psu (750w reccomended).

Probably up to 2,000 USD, but obviously if I don’t have to do that I wouldn’t haha

In that case, my build is perfect. It's about 1600 bucks (everything new). I just started a new sub about pc's earlier today, you can join if you'd like. It was made because this one only let's you post about building, but mine let's you post about anything remotely connected to pc's

Thanks! I’ll have to check it out when I am no longer on mobile. I assume most games I’d still max out and get 144 frames?
Bigwaliwigi@reddit
No rt maby 80 on max graphics games like 2077, but things like fortnite or minecraft it will easily surpass is, and those are the games you want high fps
Bigwaliwigi@reddit
If you are planning on 4k, or have a smaller budget, I can help you out too.

Either update bios and go for 5700x3d / 5800x3D + Best nvidia gpu available with remainder, or do a new build with a 7800x3D or potentially 9800x3D (wait for 3rd party benchmarks)
You're going to be very CPU dependent, so you'll definitely want x3d chips. GPU needs an upgrade, but not that big of one.
You'll want a new PSU with the latest spec.
ArchitectsPrevail@reddit (OP)
Dumb question - what do you mean by update bios?
As for the new build, would I have to get a new mobo too? How is this different than the first option?
rory888@reddit
Option 1 would be updating bios. You'll have to google instructions on how to do that. BIOS is built in operating system, the software of your motherboard. You need to check if its compatible with the CPUs mentioned above (probably, but double check). Will require a flash drive, formatting it properly, downloading software and following instructions.
Second option: Need new Mobo, ram and cpu, but you'll also have higher performance. Costs more ofc, since you're buying mobo and ram too... but you have the budget for it.
DCphatson@reddit
5700X3D with whatever GPU you can afford. If you are playing on high resolutions it will become mainly GPU based. Idk what your budget is though. Also what PSU do you have?
ArchitectsPrevail@reddit (OP)
I’m honestly not sure what PSU but I think it was 1000 or 1200 watts. I can check later though!
