Do diesel models in the US not take AdBlue? My Hyundai Tucson diesel hybrid does... But it does about 30,000 km on a tank of AdBlue. Doesn't exactly drink it all that quickly.

I know diesel nozzles won’t fit in a gasoline vehicle idk about DEF. One of the trucks at my old place of employment was gasoline and I would’ve filled it with diesel if it weren’t for that feature

The DEF nozzle is about the same size as a gas nozzle and will fit in a car. However, DEF has a distinct ammonia odor.

Here in Europe you also need a magnetic ring around the def hole to be able to fill. I don't know about that specific Hyundai, but some of the larger vag cars have an def tank you fill right beside the diesel tank.

It's called Adblue in Europe. I don't know why you thought it would be banned. It's non toxic and eliminates exhaust that causes smog

It doesn't eliminate the stuff that causes smog, at least that's not it's main purpose (that's what your particulate filter is for, which is also mandatory for gas cars for a good half a decade now). It reduces NOx emissions, which are worse for the environment than CO2 and also cause cancer. Carbon monoxide is catalyzed before the piss juice gets injected into the exhaust and overall CO2 emissions are entirely dependant on how much fuel you burn.

Ahh that one, it's called the diesel gate in NA. Those car manufacteres dont have anything with def/adblue production. This was more about cheating and not doing more than the bare minimum.

I deliver DEF and at one station 2 ladies were getting fuel. One yells to the other who is at the def pump "That's not gas!" The other replies "But it says 'this is not diesel fuel'!"

Kinda related but also not.

My work has a bulk DEF pump tank, and every 2-3 months, someone leaves the pump running and burns the motor out. It's not a quiet motor either. You can hear it over the airplanes taking off nearby.

Maintenance guys are used to fixing it, but it blows my mind that some fucknut keeps burning the motor out. If the motor is buzzing, it's still ON!!
