....I worked at a Hot Topic location in NY for almost 10 years between Halloween 2001 (my very first shift) to when the company decided not to renew our lease in the mall (Jan '11) best years of my life. Met some of the best people, had the most fun, saw some of the best concerts (some for free on the company's dollar) and lived this movie lol could easily make a sitcom of it with all the shenanigans we went through.

I worked at B. Dalton in our mall for about 5 years from like '01 to '05 till they went out of business, there were less than 10 employees total and we were all like family, hell all the mall workers were like family. Some of my favorite memories!

One of my fond memories of the pandemic was showing this movie to my wife's friend's 14 year old son. They were outside catching up and this kid was on my couch poking at his phone. "Hey you wanna watch a cool movie about a record store from the 90's?" He didn't get up or check his phone the whole time.

Showed my kids last Rex Manning Day (which was also the eclipse day, which was weird but okay). They too, were transfixed, and no shit the movie lined up perfectly - AJ vowing to call Corey at 1:37 exactly happened at 1:37 exactly.
