Xennial treasures, The Lonely Island, returned to SNL this weekend with a new banger

When these guys first hit the scene in the 00s, I assumed they were Millennials. Turns out they’re actually elder Xennials and I’m proud to claim them as one of us.

I love how they're dressed as '80s Yuppies. So random.

It’s so chef’s kiss. As though Gordon Gekko traveled to the 2020s to monetize glory holes.

If you've never seen [Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt3960412/) then you are truly missing out. Also, Donkey Roll slaps

Not bad, but it's no "I Threw it on the Ground", or "On a Boat"

I thought it was just ok but then I listened to it three more times and realized I was wrong.

That’s like the instruction manual for all Lonely Island songs. 😂

I just rewatched it and didn't realize the first time how persistent the Bowen Yang stalking scenes are. The whole thing is just a bit on the edge of absurd/dark comedy and I like it.

Yeah honestly, apart from the premise itself, it’s the horrified looks on the faces of the prospective investors and the relentlessness of the pitch that made me laugh so much.

This would work as a concept. It's just Omakase with a touch more mystery. Recommend not operating in a bathroom though.

Because Chris Parnell was in Lazy Sunday I always considered them older, even Gen X lol

Andy Samberg was born the same year as me, 1978, so we are at the tail end of Gen X.

Wow interesting. They’re actually a few years older than me but I thought they were a few years younger. Put another way, when they hit it big they were in their early 30s but I definitely thought they were in their 20s. I think they had really youthful energy and a real Millennial sense of humor. Great example of how we straddle both worlds.

They were older than us, but their humor played to the internet crowd back in the day. Almost all their videos went viral on YouTube.
