Kia K5 & Sportage
Hello everyone! I test drove a K5 and Sportage today and fell in love. I would like to know if anyone has any pro’s and cons on either of these vehicles? As well as the golden question, are Kia’s reliable? I know in past years they weren’t known as the best maker of car, but I have also heard they have made some changes and stepped their game up. I was originally going to go with a 2025 Camry XSE, but the Kia interior as well as sporty look is hard to pass up. I say I want reliable as in won’t break down on the side of the road, not reliable as in I plan on keeping this car for the next 10+ years. I am a young female in my 20’s and any input helps greatly!

The thing with Kia’s is that they are usually targets for theft. One of the most stolen car brands out there. Particularly bc they are easier to steal than other brands

The new cars are pretty secure just like other brands, the old cars without push start were the targets for thieves.

I know of a few people with the new models whose cars were still broken into and thieves tried to steal them even if they may have been unsuccessful

That happens to all brands not just Kia, the new Kia vehicles are as secure as any other brands like Honda, Toyota, BMW, Mercedes...

But they are targeted more often. Also with my bmw, I get a notification on my phone any time the alarm goes off and I can see where my car is on a map at all times. I dare them to try to steal it. No one has yet luckily.
I live in an apartment complex though and 2 kia/hyundais have been stolen in the past year. Several more broken into. Other vehicle makes have not been targeted nearly as much. Not even luxury cars
