How much are your energy bills?

We moved into the house in September 2020, and it used to be a rented property so hadn't really been maintained all that well. I started by replacing the entire heating system which was over 25 years old, and went from combi to a system boiler, and the whole house had new radiators throughout. I have the boiler set to the minimum heat required to prevent legionnaires from happening and it reheats for 30 mins morning and evening which means we have plenty of hot water whenever we need from a 180L hot water tank. I also replaced the old Honeywell thermostat with a Nest one, and it's set to 17° during the day, and 14° at night. We have a 15 tog duvet so we are still warm and cosy at bedtime, and we later up in the day if we need to. Next I replaced the entire insulation in the attic with new 300mm and that has helped considerably. During the renovation all the carpets were changed out with new underlay, so that contributes to heat retention too. Next year we are hopefully replacing all the windows and doors because they're very old and bleeding heat out so with any luck that will bring the heating cost down further. Hope some of this helps 😊
