I'll be visiting Japan for the first time as a mid-20s guy excited to do lots of clothing shopping, eating, appreciation of history, and meeting locals! How's this:
Osaka (5 Days) - Added extra days because so many day trips
- Kobe + Himeji Castle (Day Trip, back to Osaka)
- Nara (Day Trip, back to Osaka)
- Hiroshima + Miyajima Island (Day Trip, back to Osaka)
Kyoto (3 Days)
Tokyo (7 Days)
- Kamakura + Enoshima (Day Trip, back to Tokyo)
Hokkaido / Sapporo (4 Days)
- Otaru (Day Trip, back to Sapporo)
- Noboribetsu Onsen (Overnight, back to Tokyo for flight home)

it's so funny when y'all say you're gonna be "meeting the locals". In japan they're gonna be running away from you lol

Why do you say that?

I met some super fun Japanese people in a random yatai in Fukuoka.
And also at a place in Tokyo called Bar830.

What time of year is this going to be?
Personally, unless there's something special you really want to see there,I wouldn't go up to Hokkaido for such a short time, and on a first trip.
Plenty of good onsens near Tokyo...Hakone area for example.
I wouldn't spend so many days in Osaka either.Hirishima and Miyajima is definitely worth at least an overnight.Perhaps Nara is too, it's great evening and early morning without the day trippers.
Good to see plenty of time in Tokyo!
Personally I'd also add more days to Kyoto, but everything you wrote there is possible and doable.

I am landing in Osaka on Nov 22 as well lol, will be there for 2 weeks exploring Osaka, Kyoto, Hiroshima/Miyajima and later heading to Tokyo

I’d drop Hokkaido and Kobe/Himeji cuz you have a lot of travelling going on. Hiroshima/Miyajima might be worth it but Kobe/Himeji/Otaru is meh. If you wanna experience Hokkaido (snow) Noboribetsu is good but it’s a lot of travelling.
Kamakura Enoshima is ok-ish but honestly Tokyo/Kyoto/Osaka has so much to offer I wouldn’t travel that much. You can very easily have a great month across these three cities. It takes you like a whole day to travel between Kyoto and Tokyo (same with Hiroshima/Sapporo). You might get tired.

Ughh I envy you. Wish I could travel to Europe.
