Will I get an NIP?

Pretty sure I know the answer, but l've been riddled with anxiety after looking back at my own footage and seeing that I ran a red light since I knew I hesitated really badly. If I go through it frame by frame, I see the light change to red as the line on the ground disappears from view under the bonnet (for context I drive a small car, hyundai i10, and mounted this dashcam behind my rear view mirror). Now, I know there wasn't a red light camera, but if dashcam footage from whoever was behind me at the time is submitted to the local authorities, would it be likely that I recieve an NIP - it should show that I did apply my brakes initially when the ambers initially come on, before unfortunately switching my decision and letting go of the brake? (wasn't speeding through it either due to the hesitation, going 29/30mph and it's signposted 40mph)

Quite unlikely you'd get prosecuted based on dashcam footage, but certainly not impossible. All police forces in England & Wales now accept dashcam submissions of offences (over 100k reports are madeper year nowadays) and penalise where appropriate.
However, for red-light offences submitted by dashcasm, police usually require the footage to show the light had been red for a second before passing the stop line, or alternatively that the vehicle unduly accelerated on amber.
Even if you are sent a NIP, you may be offered a red-light awareness course if you're eligible.

Maybe Maybe not
Why worry about it.
More than likely not.
Would you send dashcam footage to the police of someone going through a red light?.

No, and I know the chance of someone doing so is low, but you find stories online of people getting done by other people's dashcam footage.
DarkNinjaPenguin@reddit
I've never once heard such a story.

FYI: "Police forces in England and Wales have revealed the public is sending them 150,000 clips every year, with an estimated 90% resulting in drivers being sanctioned." https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cly29m5rrd4o
There are plenty of videos online of people being caught and reportedly penalised, too.

Honestly it depends whether that traffic light has a red light camera attached to it.
Not many have them so you should be okay. (At least in my area and the surrounding countys)

If you do, and you won't, then all that happens is you'll either go on a course or you'll get some points and it will cost you some money. Take it on the chin on move on.
talstar17@reddit (OP)
I thought the course was for speeding? I haven't heard of a course for red light violations?
2xw@reddit
There's also a course you can be given for other NIOs, like driving in a cycle lane, red light cameras, antisocial driving etc
AngryTudor1@reddit
It is astonishingly unlikely if there was no red light camera
If I'm reading your post right then it sounds like you might have been just within a possible tolerance anyway.
It's one where, if a copper saw it they could ticket you for it or they could just leave it, depending on how they were feeling.
No one is submitting dashcam footage to the police against you mate. What sort of **** would do that?
Nowhere near everyone has a dashcam
Only the cars directly behind you and in front of you would be able to get your number plate on the camera.
So you are looking at between 2-4 cars that could have caught your number plate.
Looked it up- 18% of cars have dash cams. Statistically, at best one of those cars will have a dashcam.
What proportion of people would be such arseholes as to take the time and effort to shop a random motorist for going on amber?
And if they did, could the police really be arsed? Police don't even bother with burglaries half the time, so this one not caught red handed and requiring review of footage sounds like a lot of effort for them.
I think the chances of you getting done for this are vanishingly small.
