If you’re only fast in a straight line but get frightened by curves/circular ramps you’re a bad driver

OK, little bit of a rant but here it goes. My work commute is 95% 55mph rural Kentucky highways. They are curvy and hilly, but majority of the turns are gentle and do not warrant any braking, just let off the throttle for a second. Matter of fact, one of the roads (8ish miles) I literally never have to touch my brake until the stop sign at the end of the road. However, people are stupid. Every single day I get behind someone who is doing a maximum of 40-45mph, and tapping the brakes at every single slight bend in the road (and occasionally when passing oncoming traffic because other cars are scary I guess). It frustrates me to no end. Mainly because I daily drive a 1992 Lincoln Town Car, and am catching cars I SHOULD NOT CATCH ON A RURAL HIGHWAY. The other day I was stuck behind a freaking new Supra maxing at 45mph. There is absolutely no reason me in my 32 year old, 20ft long leather couch on wheels should catch sports cars on a curvy road. What many people don't understand, is just because you're driving slow DOES NOT MEAN that you are saving fuel or being safer. If you're coming up to a steep hill and hit it with minimal momentum, guess what? You're using extra fuel. When someone doing the speed limit of 55mph pops around a blind corner to you doing 40mph, it can cause an accident or at the least a traffic buildup. My area is horrible about people doing 10-15+ UNDER the speed limit. On the 45mph bypass and people stop accelerating at 30mph despite having all green lights and not a soul in front of them for at least 1/4 mile. Slow driving always has and always will drive me absolutely nuts. I've been (legally) driving for 18+ years, only had 1 accident (over 10 years ago) that I was at fault, and that was due to a combo of fresh rain (oil rose to the surface), a steep downhill grade and a car with no ABS, couldn't get slowed quite fast enough for the emergency stop. Speed limits are there because it's a safe speed, that doesn't mean that you should subtract 10+mph just to be 'extra safe'. Obviously, slippery conditions DO warrant a reduction in speed dependant on the circumstances, but on a sunny dry day, doing 40mph in the 55mph zone just makes me wish you'd just pull tf over and call an Uber or order a bicycle. Rant over.
