What energy supplier do people use?

I am currently in England with Scottish Power as this was the energy supplier when we moved into our new build. We have left it for a year and the bills are all over the place and the smart meter doesn't ever work. I have been recommended to move to Octopus Energy. Does anyone else use Octopus? If not can anyone recommend anything better?

I use Fuse Energy. I switched from EDF and was the best move in my honest opinion. Fuses rates are really good and also you can deal with any queries or issues right on their app through their 'chat to us' section, no need to sit on phone calls on holds for hours.. Also as part of signing up you can receive £25 off your bill by using a code. I would appreciate if you could use my code: PHILIP17325

Cheapest about 2026 is fuse for sure I used someone’s code on here when I switched and got £100 If someone could return the favour and use my code we both get a spin on the wheel for a credit amount AIDEN91552 is my code just download the fuse app and you can switch from there

Octopus or e.on next for ease of use. I've also heard good things about Fuse Energy. I'd say switch as regularly as you can even with the same supplier you can usually get better rates with that strategy. Just be weary of exit fees.

I switched from British Gas to octopus a few weeks ago and never looked back. Much better tariff and lovely customer service. I wish I had moved sooner.

I Use Octopus and I definitely recommend them. Their customer service are really responsible and easy to reach over email and phone. They are after rated well by Which Consumer Report for this aspect and are often the first to lower their prices in line with the Ofgem changes . Also the fastest way to lower your carbon footprint as they invest in an equivalent amount of renewable so it is like your supply is 100% renewable offset. Also you can get referred by existing customers and get a free £50 which largely makes them cheaper than others. I am away from home for about 1/3 of the year every year, so I use utilita. They're the only company that charge no standard charge and instead make the first two units of power disproportionately expensive to cover the equivalent. This saves me a few quid over those months, but also stops me feeling frustrated about paying standing charges when the whole is switched off at the meter
