You would know if you hit a pedestrian with a car, wouldn't you?

I'm asking because my mom sent me a screenshot of a FB group, that said a 60 year old woman was found in my subdivision, on a road I had just taken, dead in the road.
I didn't see anybody coming towards my windshield, I didn't feel anything hit my car, the steering wheel didn't yank out of my hands or anything, when I got to the gas station up the road, there was no damage (that wasn't already there from rust) on my car...but I have this weird unshakable feeling that I did it.
If I would have hit a pedestrian, I would have felt it right?

I'm the opposite. I'll feel something and get this crazy feeling that I hit someone or a dog or whatever only to find nothing after a very thorough post-trip inspection.

Dealing with this rn :(

This is a common and (as weird as it sounds) a normal intrusive thought. You'd absolutely know.
The feeling will subside in time :-)

I read this somewhere. There was a patient who had an OCD disorder and was deathly afraid of driving for fear she'd hit a pedestrian. It was completely ruining her life.

This is exactly what I’m going through, I had to completely stop my enrollment to collage because I myself am not a reliable driver and can have full blown panic attacks about hitting someone when there was no one there to hit

I think the show was called the OCD project. They used exposure therapy to get them past it.
In the case of the driver. He was hurling baby dolls at the car while she was driving.

I'm looking for the driver of the Black SUV that hit me at the intersection on Eglinton Ave E and Sorrento Dr in Mississauga on Tuesday September 24, 2024. Around 9:20pm. You forgot to give me your info. Please contact me. Thank you!

Sorry to hear that. You're clear in another country though, it wasn't me.
