Do we really need more division between us?
To keep 'em segregated just breeds distrust and misunderstanding.
rootwraith1@reddit
Maybe make up your mind? We try make a big masjid and you guy whine about it and we go somewhere else you still whine about. You guys really have nothing better to do? Maybe go out and volunteer or something instead.

Go to one of your 40+ Arab majority shithole countries and stop trying to make the rest of the world shitty and gross
rootwraith1@reddit
Trash like you make the world shitty. We're making it better.
jellydonutsaremyjam@reddit
Then why do you keep leaving Arab countries if they’re so great? No, you’re all colonizers. You want to take over the world for the false prophet pedo Mohammed
hgghhhjjg@reddit
Yo😭, people come to america for economic reasons and unparalleled freedom; muslims are 1.1% of the population in the usa. You guys are not being colonized. But you as a person are failed.
Brilliant_Collar_230@reddit
Have you seen the rest of the world ? It's inappropriate to have a city built just for one people. What kind of unamerican crap is that. I love my Muslim friends but this is weird
hgghhhjjg@reddit
Hey man, muslims aren’t the first do this ; jews and christian’s have long had cities for them. I would love for every religion to feel comfortable practicing around everyone; and hate to be gone. but it’s not the comments prove there’s still islamophobia, in houston a women got stabbed in a park last year only because she was muslim. Till people can feel safe, they will want separation. Ideally everyone can live together in harmony in the future.

*cough* Institute for Social Policy and Understanding (ISPU, 2023) → Estimates closer to 1.3% (4+ million). *cough*
I don't understand why these people fear us. They legit would not meet one in real life to find out what they're really like.
rootwraith1@reddit
Well this is a first, a Caucasian accusing someone else of colonizing? It's hilarious.
In fact, here's a history lesson for you... I asked AI what countries White Europeans significantly colonized and the list returned will almost all countries. So I had to ask it which countries they DIDN'T. Here you go:
Japan, Thailand, Liberia, Ethiopia, Bhutan, Nepal, Tonga, China (partially colonized but never fully), Afghanistan, Iran (Persia), Saudi Arabia, Turkey (Ottoman Empire), Mongolia, South Korea (brief occupation but not colonized), North Korea (brief occupation but not colonized), Andorra, Liechtenstein, Monaco, San Marino, Vatican City.
But hey, probably stop bombing their countries and economically bankrupting them and they might stop coming.
Just wondering, do you think this is the kind of attitude Jesus had? Is this what they're teaching you at Church? I want to know, when Jesus asks you about these hate posts, what exactly would you answer?
jellydonutsaremyjam@reddit
lol “I asked AI because I’m too dumb to know.” Look up the Ottoman Empire. Look up what your Arab buddies did to the Armenian Christian. THAT was colonization. THAT was a genocide. But they get a pass because they’re brown.
jellydonutsaremyjam@reddit
Muslims are literally the source of everything bad in this world
Brilliant_Collar_230@reddit
This is inappropriate. I hope it gets shut down
KawaiiDere@reddit
Eh, Mega churches are awful too. I think I would have concerns about it if it was the same thing but Christian instead.
I'm glad it's a new development, we definitely need more housing of any kind, but it would be nice if it got mixed use like a normal city (assuming they have control of the zoning) (Plano is designed horribly, it takes forever to walk or bike anywhere, plus the cul de sacs make it un-navigatable. I'm glad the concept doesn't seem to have cul de sacs, but more mixed use would be nice.)
(IG they could always rezone it later once the area fills out a bit more. There's an Asian Grocery store near my house that has some comfy restaurants and shops nearby, so I'm not totally against large landmark buildings, but growing up in Texas makes me extremely critical of organized religion. It could be nice if it focuses on doing more than just religion, maybe with some relevant third spaces and such to hangout at too.)
KawaiiDere@reddit
Yeah, I'm glad something new is being built, but I'd be deeply suspicious if it was the same thing but Christian instead, so I'm still not sure about the ethics behind building a religion focused development.
The linked website has a few videos too, but just about investment in the project, the maps look a bit concerning since they're mostly yellow and dark yellow, which makes me feel it's going to be non mixed use development. It's not the worst design, but anything with large amounts of sfh makes me worried about it's walkability, especially with the parking lot in some of the site images.
Still better than nothing. I'd hate to be a NIMBY, but I wish it was a bit more ambitious in being better than most of Plano built on the 70s. (Although I've heard it's not even in Plano)

What's the status of Epic 2.0? I know they sold out of the registrations when this was announced a year or 2 ago.
What's the current status?
yassermasood@reddit (OP)
You might want to see the news about that involves the governor
Baandri@reddit
Thanks....I read about it.

This shit won't happen
Alive_in_Platos_Cave@reddit
It looks like this development in 30 Josephine—not Plano. Will they be relocating the current EPIC building out there, or will the future residents of the compound be making the 30 min drive back here for regular worship services?
rootwraith1@reddit
Separate venture completely.

Are they planning to only allow Muslims to buy there? Not sure that's legal. And if they are Muslim, do they need to be devout? Can they eat and drink what they want on their property? Inquiring minds want to know.
Empty_Sky_1899@reddit
It would be illegal to put deed restrictions in place requiring all residents to be Muslim.
OlderNerd@reddit
Exactly! So how are they expecting this to be kind of a Muslim enclave?
johnster1967@reddit
You haven’t seen much of Murphy then. They won’t sell to a non-Muslim. I called about a lot for sale and they didn’t return my call.
AmeyT108@reddit
This is intentional creation of ghettos for Muslims so that religious extremists can have an easier hold on them. We have seen this in India. Anti-national/anti-India things or in support of Pakistan. There was/is a saying said in Pakistan and by some Muslims in India- Lad ke liye hai Pakistan, Has ke lenge Hindustan (We took Pakistan with a fight, we'll take India with laughs)

I see Yasir qadhi promoting this prom. Who is the main owner , benefactor ? I am curious who is benefiting from this ?
Thin_Astronaut_1750@reddit
Does anyone know if they still selling shares?
zigg13@reddit
Is it religious property tax exempt?
Empty_Sky_1899@reddit
No, it would not be.
purpletees@reddit
Good question!
rootwraith1@reddit
Exciting news! Didn't think you guys would get there so fast.
IReallyHopeMyUserna@reddit
I looked through some of the city renders and layout maps. You guys are trying to create a close knit community and yet your local commercial zoning is two car dependent strip malls and all your residents will have to drive just to get to them? Yeah I'm sure this will promote healthy community living... Between the single arterial exit, lack of job opportunities locally, and the sprawl, I hope everyone enjoys waiting in traffic just to leave to get groceries or go to work.

Why am I just thinking of that who is America skit on kkingman Arizona

Looks terrible
FirebunnyLP@reddit
This is not Plano, quite a drive from it really.
And a walled off compound is definitely going to be wildly popular given recent history of past walled off compound and the current political climate./s
unexpected@reddit
This looks like a totally walled in compound in the middle of nowhere. I'm sure it'll be a big hit.
Lyuseefur@reddit
No different than all the other walled in compounds we have here. Autotopia here we come!
