The revelation that Dux was an S-Tier fraud was the driving event behind the pulling back of the 'Veil of Bullshido'. Despite the blowback, the martial arts community as a whole is far, far better off than it used to be and the students of today are much more capable of self-defense than students of that time. Not to say that McDojos aren't still a thing, but it's pretty easy to see if you're in one, extricate yourself and get into training that's going to be of actual benefit, which was close to impossible, even 20 years ago.
