At last, it's been a long time since I've heard that idiot in the desert, the mouth of the south, blathering about splatter-boxes and window-lickers. Now, for the last few days, I'm hearing some imbecile, I think from California, making noises like a monkey in heat crying for the banana. Do these guys realize how stupid they sound?

My dad did HAMM and CB radio when I was a kid. When we did road trips we’d turn the CB on as the sun set just to hear chatter and see if there’s any entertainment or warnings. I vaguely remember the tale of Racing Roy. Fastest armadillo you ever did see… or something like that. Curious if that story got continued or if it’s been lost to oblivion? Dad is getting older now and he recently gave me a pretty nice Cobra CB radio. Would be kind of surprising to hear it again one day. We were lucky enough to be with that particular trucker for about 2+ late night hours of our trip and he didn’t quit telling the tale of ol racing Roy the entire time.

Someone else covered the possibility but I'll handle the why.. Its trolling. The internet gave us a good word for it but people have been trolling for millennia. There is a certain gratification of causing frivolous frustration to other humans and seeing their visceral reaction to inconsequential dumbassery. They have a true radio tower, likely leased out of Mexico. Back in the day, a radio host named Wolfman Jack did this for his AM radio station. It reached far into North America. Illegally, but with that tower in Mexico it was beyond legal reach at the time. CB is a slightly different AM style, but can be used in the same manner (turning their rig into unlicensed HAM). Atmospheric Skip makes it reach even farther.
