Why are so many people still triggered by words like beige, magnolia, and the phrase "avocado suite"?

It's not even necessarily the actual colours that people dislike, since there's thousands of trendy ways to describe beige and magnolia these days, what with all the varieties of creams, stones and coffees that are available.
