Flying After a Break – Looking for Less Busy Airports and Considering Summit Flight Training in Greeley, CO

Hey! So I’ve got about 23 hours logged, and I’m getting back into flying after a break. I used to fly out of Centennial Airport (KAPA), but it’s a pretty busy airport, and I’m looking for something a bit less hectic this time.
Has anyone here trained at Summit Flight Training in Greeley, CO? I’ve heard good things about it. Their address is 722 Airport Rd, Greeley, CO 80631, and I’m considering checking them out. The airport (KGXY) seems like it could be a better fit—less traffic, but still well-equipped. Any experiences with this school or suggestions on other airports in the area that aren’t as busy but still good for flight training?
Thanks in advance for any tips or advice!

Myself and 3 of my friends did all (PPL, IFR, CPL, ME, CFI/I) of our training there. They are the best in Northern Colorado. Checked out 4 other schools that don’t even compare. They actually care about your success. Their planes are extremely well kept, their maintenance guys are top notch, and they will bend over backwards to ensure you get the best training and are ready for your checkrides. 100% recommend Summit Flight Training without hesitation.

I know KBJC is a busier airport, but the training you will get at McAir is fantastic. I trained with them for a while and am very happy that I finished my ratings at busier towered airports. Radios and traffic are much easier than some folks that I’ve met who worked out of untowered fields.

I’ve only been there twice — and it was a zoo both times. Let’s just say that I have no desire to be back.

Just be ready for every runway to be in use and parachute ops on a 5 mile final. Plus there will be at least one person pretending they don’t have radios.

My school (Western Air Flight Academy) at KCFO does a lot of training flights to Greeley. While it's not as busy as KAPA, it can still be a zoo especially being non-towered. It's not my favorite place to fly to - I'll put it that way.
If the drive is not too bad, consider Spaceport (KCFO). Much less busy than KAPA or KBJC but it's a Class D so you still get a lot of really helpful radio practice. There are days and hours hours where the pattern gets busy but it never lasts, and and it never gets in the way of good learning.
Can answer questions about the school I'm at if you'd like, but speaking just about the training environment from an airport perspective, Spaceport is awesome.

I cant speak to Summit Flight Training, but I flew out of KFNL for a while and KGXY is much less busy than FNL which is orders of magnitude less busy than KAPA.

I don't know them personally, but reputationally they're solid and the mechanic they use is top notch.
