I just moved to Plano a couple of months ago and do not have any friends here in the area. I'd love to meet other women as I am a 33F Texan Vietnamese girl who is building herself back up from a darker place in the past. I've battled sobriety and mental health issues for the past few years and finally I've come back out of that place and I am reclaiming my life. I'm happily married with no kids but I have 2 cats that I adore.
I'm still 420 friendly, love all sorts of music(I am a huge Swiftie), and love finding trails to go on walks. I'm also a major foodie and I want to find other women who would love to hang out and chat about life, go shopping, ect.

Me too . 39F married no kids . Have my fair share of mental health issues and on therapy and medications . Trying to have a fit life, I love to dance and hike ( not too extreme) . But I’m not able to am cos of my work and I struggle with doing my daily chores itself that it tires me out . I would love to connect with ppl like me but being a ambivert I’m way too anxious .

Movement climbing gym has a lot of low 20s to low 40s demographic. Have met a lot of friends in the local climbing community. It's kind of like a bar, but people are working out instead of drinking.

Maybe consider reaching out and finding out about the possibility of volunteering with the Junior League of Collin County. I volunteered a whole bunch with that group when I was in my 20s and found that it gave me a nice mix of focusing on helping others with great needs in the community and social time with other women of similar ages and life stages. Back when I was in the organization in the 90s, it felt slightly heavier with women who were at home with small children, but o have heard that it is now mostly women who work outside of their homes.

highly recommend checking out a tennis or pickleball class at highpoint (or huffhines in richardson) great exercise and really good way to meet folks. I've made lots of friends this way! Also climbing gyms are great.

It's super popular and fast growing - so there will be lots of leagues / classes for folks who are just looking to get into it. And with tennis me personal experience has been that people are really friendly and welcoming. It's been a great way to meet people. highpoint in Plano has a lot of pickleball courts / players/ Good luck!

There’s some really good, authentic viet restaurants in Plano/richardson/garland area near you. And I always go to Cali Saigon Mall for groceries!

I check all three. Diagnosed with CPTSD, General Anixety Disorder, and am recovering from a nasty 2 story fall. It helps me indefinitely.

I haven't gone to any meetups with this group yet but there's a DFW Coffee Girl Club on FB/IG that sounds like fun! I also go to Silent Book Club (Dallas Chapter, but there's a smaller Plano chapter I've never been to as well) every month

You could try Bumble BFF! That's how I've made a couple of friends around the area. Also seconding someone else's comment about rock climbing. Movement Plano and Movement The Hill are incredibly inclusive and friendly.

Plano Libraries has a lot of activities. Cheap, you can find people with the same interests, and you can bail if you don't feel like it.

https://plano.libnet.info/events - you can filter by age, "adult", and the events will be displayed. Anything from mystery book clubs, stitching, learning about taking small business loans, Cricut machines, Gardening Classes, Cross Stitch. A lot of activities!

Hi! Volunteering for the Plano Democratic Headquarters would be a great way to meet like-minded people! We need all of the help we can get. They have door knocking campaigns, postcard writing gatherings, phone calling events, and so on.

I’m not sure of their stance on marijuana since it doesn’t apply to me but I have been to and hosted lots of meetups with the Phoenix. It’s a sober support community that just requires 24 hours of sobriety to be able to attend an event. They have an app that works great but you can also find them at thephoenix.org!
