That quote definitely comes off as misogynistic. If there were statistics or research backing up his claim then he can reasonably make that assertion. When he says this without citing anything, it sounds like it's just his personal opinion, and if your opinion is "poor people just don't work as hard as me" your worldview is definitely in a bubble.

It comes off that way if that is your lens in which everything is viewed, which seems to be the problem today. You assume he's making a value judgement and we are not in a position to associate motive to his statement. There are people who choose to work less than their peers and are willing to give up promotions and raises because they value their personal time and lower stress levels over money and status. It's up to each individual to make such decisions as to what they value. Pointing out that a segment of the population tends to make one choice versus another does not make them a person who is advocating for discrimination.

Women spend more time on their family, because men aren't willing to do it. Men's work is generally considered infinitely more important. Even female doctors spend more time doing housework and on emotional labor than their husbands--just like with the standard American woman. Yet, female doctors have lower mortality rates and better outcomes overall. They should be paid equally or even more b/c of that. That is what pay should be based on, rather than how many people you choose to not listen to and make snap medical judgements on just so you can see more patients. The emphasis should be on quality of care. Women would win that hands down. We have one of the worst medical systems in the world, simply b/c medicine is being judged by what men think is important.

So you think that the emphasis isn't on quality of care because men don't think it's important? It has nothing to do with the fact that the current system of insurance decouples the patient from the financial equation such that there's no financial incentive to provide quality care?
If patients actually paid doctors instead of insurance plans, you'd see a value associated with the level of care provided. This is common in areas where insurance does not cover procedures like elective plastic surgery.

I find if I need a test I simply ask the doctor. My female doctors wanted to spend way too much time talking about it and at times want to have a second appointment to talk about it. Men are normally like “OK” order the test move on. Men tend to deal with what is in the moment we know. I have parathyroidism and have seen a couple of women endocrinologists. Both women gave me crazy advice. You have to find the doctor who you can communicate with.

I have a male doctor now and I gotta tell you he’s shit. Probably because he is rushed. I just experienced a side effect he should warned me about but perhaps he was too worried about a quota than my health. Fuck this guy. I hope his business plunders.

If you got a crappy doctor I would find a new one.

I personally have found female physicians, counselors, etc... to be more thorough, and to get the right diagnosis much much more quickly. I had to go to my female doctor's associate when she wasn't there, and he kept saying I probably had type II diabetes. Nevermind that I lost 100 lbs and am a normal weight with a healthy diet. Nevermind that I have healthy fasting blood work. No, my Hashimoto's that it took 10 years for me to get diagnosed with (male doctor) and I had to throw a fit to get tested for, is really diabetes? Then, he wanted to change my thyroid meds to something that did not work for me, when my current meds work impeccably. He obviously had zero understanding of Hashimoto's. Such a tool. My female docs also spend significantly longer listening to me and examining me. This is why I won't see a male doctor unless it's an emergency. Even then, I will ask if there is a woman available.
It's so awful that female docs are considered less productive, because they aren't in and out in 2 minutes.

I think male doctors seem to be better with males and female with females. I had a group of female doctors and had to fire them all. Women don’t listen to men in most doctor settings. Women and men speak different and that seems to cause issues.
