ULPT How to get child predator out of neighborhood

Recently, a convicted child predator moved in with his parents in a suburban neighborhood full of families with young children. How would you get rid of this child predictor?
Alias_Fake-Name@reddit
I recently watched a video discussing how misleading and pointless these kinds of sex offender registries are. You can apparently be put on one just for pants-ing someone. How old is the alleged pedo anyway if they are still living with their parents?
AriadneThread@reddit
Uh, no. I just took a look at who's in my town, and it's for rape, often of 13-17 year olds. Jesus
Alias_Fake-Name@reddit
Sure, bud. Sure
Monarc73@reddit
Is he actively hunting, harassing, or stalking anyone, or just existing? Your answer should shape your strategy.
ConfidentSubstance51@reddit (OP)
How should I know?
Comfortable_Plant667@reddit
I got rid of the one in my neighborhood. Bide your time and have your phone ready to take pictures of him talking to neighborhood kids on the sidewalk, encouraging neighborhood kids to pet his dog, even pausing too long in front of neighborhood houses where kids live, etc. Halloween is a big one. On Halloween night take a picture of what the front of their house looks like. Are there any decorations, porch light on, anything that would encourage kids to approach? After you collect enough images you can notify via the online registry.
In the meantime, and without specifying why, encourage your neighbors to use the online sex offender registry to educate themselves of local predators. Be aware that anything that looks like an overt attempt to 'harass' the predator will work against you, so be smart.
Monarc73@reddit
What kind of behavior have you witnessed?
lummoxmind@reddit
Dress up as a little kid with a propeller hat and a lollipop and see if he makes a move...
ColdBloodBlazing@reddit
Child predators can "just exist" in a fucking cage where they belong
Impressive_Yellow537@reddit
Christ yall are weird
No_Method-@reddit
Probably members of the MAP’s group 😂 There is a big push to normalize pedophiles. All politics aside, look at Biden’s weird ass behavior with young girls and Trump’s comments about his daughter and the allegations against him. JP Morgan handled all the cash flow for Epstein’s island, along with numerous of their executives participating in the festivities on the island. And im sure there are plenty more examples. It’s happening at the very highest levels of society.
workitloud@reddit
They are everywhere. Look up your state’s SO registry. Narrow the search for the city. If you don’t have any within 2 miles of your house, I would be amazed. It will have a picture, offense, details, address, and, if I’m not mistaken, parole/probation/monitoring authority. There are things you can and cannot do with that information. If you get caught harassing or intimidating them, you might do more time than they did. This is the .gov site, there are others, but many are clickbait. Get ready to freak the fuck out. https://www.nsopw.gov
There is a reason why every telephone pole in every neighborhood doesn’t have mugshots & data. Depending upon jurisdiction, offenders must notify their neighbors. Check on this. https://www.probationinfo.org/sor/notification/#:~:text=You%20will%20receive%20personal%20notification,to%20encounter%20in%20your%20neighborhood.
AriadneThread@reddit
Thank you for sharing this. Important info, as the parent of a teen girl.
Justakatttt@reddit
Nice, there’s none within 3 miles of me lol
Emergency-Ad2452@reddit
Did they look at a picture or assault a child? I don't want that person in my neighborhood either, but everyone gets lumped into one category
sowinglavender@reddit
what the fuck? use your head. the industry that produces those images traffics and abuses kids. upholding that system is in no way less bad.
Emergency-Ad2452@reddit
No one wants to solve problems at their source. Why the world's a mess.
sowinglavender@reddit
we live under capitalism. demand IS the source.
ok child sexual abuse material apologist.
Emergency-Ad2452@reddit
Get it off the internet.
Impressive_Yellow537@reddit
I saw your comment after posting my reply and we pretty much had the same reaction.
The fact that his comment got 10 up votes is disgusting lol
ConfidentSubstance51@reddit (OP)
Yea sounds like this guy might have some hobbies he wants to normalize
Duellair@reddit
Along with the more than 12 people that upvoted this dude, like wtf
ConfidentSubstance51@reddit (OP)
Wtf, they both deserve the same fate
Emergency-Ad2452@reddit
They had to adjust laws in PA because they were getting too many cases of high school kids sexting each other. That's what I'm talking about, genius.
Calgary_Calico@reddit
They wouldn't stay on the registry after they turn 18, genius. There are very few crimes that will carry over from juvenile convictions, sexting with your highschool girlfriend isn't one of them.
Emergency-Ad2452@reddit
They shouldn't be on the registry at all at that age unless it was assault. And it does follow you. Pa has 3 levels of offender. Level 1 is not community notification, and Pa has warnings on their site about harassment. I guess they feel that's their job. What concerns me is everyone is calling everyone a pedophile and it's watering down the seriousness of these crimes. Teachers, librarians, etc. all getting called pedophiles over books. The powers that be won't remove it from the internet because somebody is making too much money from it
Emergency-Ad2452@reddit
What about all the people getting rich off making this shit? Oh no, let's arrest the 15 yr old that looks at it. Let's not address the source of the problem.
Calgary_Calico@reddit
You've seriously missed the point here... You can't say one thing and then change the goalpost to "oh no, I was definitely talking about teenagers sexting", yea, sure you were.
Emergency-Ad2452@reddit
You're talking about adults. I'm talking about teenagers.
Calgary_Calico@reddit
If they were looking at child porn they wanted to touch kids and will eventually escalate to child rape. The whole lot deserve to be put in the same category and a few things I can't legally say here. Something something wood chipper.
donuthing@reddit
Even public urination gets lumped into that category.
Impressive_Yellow537@reddit
Brother, what the fuck? Are you trying to stand in defense of looking up child porn?
Yes, they get lumped into one category, they do not deserve otherwise.
Weird take to have tbh.
StormOfFatRichards@reddit
And get him to move where? An expensive retirement community, another neighborhood with families? Or perhaps a developing nation with authorities that are more susceptible to bribery?
Familiar-Armadillo94@reddit
first, inform local law enforcement and child protection agencies. Then, use appropriate channels to alert the community. Consult a lawyer for potential legal actions, and promote child safety education within the community.
PretendingToWork1978@reddit
Thank you ChatGPT.
Familiar-Armadillo94@reddit
lol
ChcknGrl@reddit
Local law enforcement is probably well aware of his release. There was probably a neighborhood meeting to notify everyone of the pedo's pending release.
Ok_Perception1131@reddit
“Promote child safety education in the neighborhood” is great advice. OP can drop off flyers at his neighbors’ front doors alerting them to the pedo and giving recommendations on child safety.
suziq338@reddit
Not unethical, but I would say don’t do anything. There are pedos in every neighborhood. Every city, every town. If you think otherwise you are being lulled into a false sense of security.
Personally, I am less afraid of the threat I know about than the wolf masquerading as a sheep nearby.
Teach your children well. The best approach I’ve seen talks about “sneaky people” rather than “strangers” and focuses on behavior rather than people.
two-of-me@reddit
I’m not a parent, but plenty of my friends are and they’ve had talks with their kids about “secrets.” They tell their kids they don’t keep secrets in their family, and if anyone asks them to keep a secret, they won’t ever get in trouble for telling their parents, no matter what the other person says.
That’s far better than “keep an eye out for a weird guy in a trench coat.”
saltynotsweet1@reddit
I taught mine that surprises were ok, secrets were not. Then we talked about examples of each - mommy’s surprise party? Surprise, that’s ok. Taking little brother to get ice cream after school? Surprise, also ok. Uncle saying not to tell anyone when he walked in on you in the shower? Secret, not ok.
waterpigcow@reddit
I’m fairly certain this is what’s currently recommended my experts
two-of-me@reddit
Ooo I like this!! Smart distinction because I always wondered how many surprise parties were accidentally ruined by this rule (obviously much better than keeping a bad secret). Excellent.
splorng@reddit
Look up his criminal case. It should be public record. Was he a coach, a teacher, or a youth pastor who preyed upon his charges? Did he abuse a young family member? If it’s any of those things, he poses no threat to the kids in the neighborhood. Let him live his life in shame.
SwiftTayTay@reddit
Yeah, just avoid interacting with them. That's the whole point of the registry, so you can know to avoid them if you want. It's not meant to be a bullseye. Though posts like this make me think we should just get rid of the registry and just decide to either keep them locked up or not depending on how likely they are to reoffend.
SneeKeeFahk@reddit
Stranger Danger was a disaster. Most assaults are perpetrated by someone the victim knows. Stranger abduction and assault is much rarer than people believe.
I don't know the answer but Sneaky People seems to be much more accurate and helpful.
RaccoonOverlord111@reddit
He's probably not the only one. But at least he registered. My parents found out they were letting a guy convicted of sexual assault of a child live on their property. He served time in another state and never bothered to register in this one. It's not like the cops go hunting for these people. At least the guy in your neighborhood is following the rules.
SamURLJackson@reddit
Build a park, or somewhere that kids congregate, in the area. As I understand it, this is how neighborhoods push them out already. There are few areas that they can live as it is
ModeratelyAverage6@reddit
I can bet money he's not the only one in your neighborhood. He's just the only one you know about.
many-brain-tabs-open@reddit
Imagine op using this one to sniff out the rest
ChcknGrl@reddit
Honestly, it's better that he's living with his family than alone. At least there is some degree of accountability and supervision with this living arrangement. As others have mentioned, pedos are literally everywhere and often the people you trust the most. A successful pedo has excellent people skills. One thing to think about is if this pedo is going to successfully reintegrate into society, he needs to find his place in it. Harassment and aggression isn't going to facilitate this. Not saying you need to show up with the welcome wagon on his door, but maybe consider not adding to his stress while he sorts his shitty life out. Stress is a risk factor for everything.
ColdBloodBlazing@reddit
He can get all the supervision he needs in a cage where he belongs
He can "sort out his shitty life" in a cage
Safe neighborhoods for children do not need these vermin endangering their lives.
Justakatttt@reddit
I can’t believe you’re getting downvoted.
Fuck child predators and fuck anyone defending them. “He did his time” yeah and he also HARMED A CHILD.
sickening.
ColdBloodBlazing@reddit
Or the inane babbling bullshit about "contact your representatives to try to influence criminal sentencing procedures" complete inane babbling bullshit
sir_psycho_sexy96@reddit
We get it, you have a cage fetish
ChcknGrl@reddit
Dude is triggered for sure.
ChcknGrl@reddit
Arguably, he did his time and some review board has deemed him safe enough to be released, with supervision and lifetime registration. You can contact your representatives to try to influence criminal sentencing procedures but this is how the justice system works. I doubt anyone gets excited about releasing a convicted pedophile, but I do know that a responsible correctional system has tools to assess risk and can modify community supervision rules as such. This stuff is high profile and no DOC wants a PR nightmare, so it's safe to assume precautions are in place. I hate pedophilia as much as the next person, but let's be logical here.
Face2098@reddit
First thing I would do is make sure it isn’t a case of : he was 19, she was 17. Or it isn’t one of those: they took a piss outside and a cop just happened to be looking. If it’s a for real pedo then plaster that shit everywhere.
InvestigatorNo1331@reddit
Sound Advice
I have nowhere else to dump this story, but my friend (who has a kid) had his ex wife drop the kid off at his house. My friend lived with his younger brother. The younger brother was watching porn with headphones on, thinking he was home alone. The mother and kid saw his dick, and the younger brother is now a registered sex offender. Obviously the mother was NOT in good terms with my friend or his family before this, it was malicious
Not like this specific and awful situation outweighs ACTUAL predators being caught, but this incident always gives me a (very) brief moment of pause when I hear stories like this
QuarantineCasualty@reddit
Damn he got charged while he was in his own home? That sounds sus as hell.
ConfidentSubstance51@reddit (OP)
A lot of people suggesting taking it easy on a pedo… concerning…
Impressive_Yellow537@reddit
You're getting down voted for this as well. What an abomination of a sub lol
Justakatttt@reddit
We live in crazy times.
Defiant_Quarter_1187@reddit
Constant harassment. Signs. Super soaker full of piss when he’s outside. Flyers. Megaphone announcements.
FrostySand8997@reddit
Could he use a pis disc?
TurnipTripper@reddit
All good, but don't actually douse the dude in piss with a super-soaker. That will be assault and you could be arrested. Might be on the fence if it's just water... be careful. But by all means, full court press using your first amendment rights.
Ber-r-fk69420@reddit
Do you have a freezer?
glitter-saur@reddit
It's better to know where/who they are.
InsuranceNo3422@reddit
Me getting rid of the child predator from my neighborhood means sending them over to somebody else's neighborhood doesn't it?
ColdBloodBlazing@reddit
Or back into a cage where they belong
Broflake-Melter@reddit
huh? The minus world from Metroid? Oh! that blank dimension from that one spongebob episode!
ColdBloodBlazing@reddit
The Phantom Zone
Broflake-Melter@reddit
Why there so much damn good ethics on this sub???
ConfidentSubstance51@reddit (OP)
Isn’t this ULPT, why would I care about another neighborhood?
elVanPuerno@reddit
Why do you even care about other families in your current neighborhood?
Realfinney@reddit
Let them get a job as a lighthouse keeper.
ChcknGrl@reddit
NIMBY
too_many_shoes14@reddit
Do you have kids? If not, why do you care? It's not your job to look after other people's kids.
Also, the ones on the list aren't the ones you need to worry about. The ones NOT on the list are and I bet there are some of those in your neighborhood too you just don't know about it.
Responsible-Ebb2933@reddit
Flyer the fuck outta your neighborhood. Join your neighborhoods FB page and post about it, a lot.
GothMaams@reddit
Wonder what the legality is with this, since you’d be posting factual information about the pedo, it wouldn’t be slander, right?
FirebirdWriter@reddit
As long as you're not harassing them this is entirely legal as it's public information. They're not entitled to secrecy hence the whole sex offender registry
bmbreath@reddit
It might turn into harassment if they asked them to stop, and nothing would stop them from potentially going the civil suit route.
KingReoJoe@reddit
If OP’s state has an anti-SLAPP statute, it’s a slam dunk.
Dubv87@reddit
In a little town in my state they actually do this with the pedos in town since the info is available online all of them are posted at town hall on the bulletin board
WorthlessGolde@reddit
You can't really do anything. Post about him on nextdoor it'll make him suffer enough
Calgary_Calico@reddit
Find the case file online and put up posters with his name, photo and a print out of the online report from his conviction all over the neighborhood.
BigOlBeb@reddit
You gonna drop the details?!
HonnyBrown@reddit
What were his exact charges
skits112189@reddit
Find him online pose as a child lure him out and beat the piss out of him. Can’t go to cops over assault if hes out breaking parole.
climaxingwalrus@reddit
….piss disc
dronesitter@reddit
There’s an episode of it’s always sunny in Philadelphia that covers techniques for this.
snazzydetritus@reddit
There was also an episode of the 90s show Picket Fences that dealt with this fairly unethically.
rotenbart@reddit
Yeah, pointing in unison and shouting “YOU” at them should do the trick. I love that show and I think that’s unintentionally the funniest scene. Even if the context is kinda fucked.
Skeggy-@reddit
Sounds like time was just served and he was released. Probably restricted to housing at parent’s house for adult probation. Legally nothing you can do to force a move.
You can fuck with him all you want though. Flyers posted with his mugshot and charges from the official state department of corrections website.
Halloween is coming up soon. Check your state laws for the requirements of sex offenders. Some states have a no lights, no candy, no costume, no parties and require a “no candy at this residence” sign to be posted. Look into it and get him violating on camera. Send to PO for probation violation.
NoContextCarl@reddit
Whatever you do don't go the Nightmare on Elm St route because we all know how that turned out.
