The US is the outlier using fighter jets for demonstration teams, I think all other countries use trainers. Even the US is likely to go that way in the future, it's not like we're going to give the Thunderbirds f-35s

Maybe they'll get PC-21s as stop-gaps till the new advanced trainers are coming.
Last time I heard they wait for an Airbus solution for a jet trainer, M-346 wpuld be grest though.

Upgrading planes is a big topic for the Patrouille de France as these Alphajets are no longer produced but there’s no way they’re going to get Rafales or even Mirage 2000s. These are way too advanced planes for this type of mission and they would cost too much. I think they are looking into developing a new ‘modular’ plane that would serve for the red force and training squadrons (like the Alphajet did) and for the PAF.
