Reddit economists refuse to acknowledge things like margins and believe top line revenue is the same thing as net profit. When confronted with this they double down spewing nonsense such as “price gouging” and “greed”.
It's like pointing out that grocers have vast sums of money generated on, squeezing the customer. But do go ahead and continue to put it on reddit economists and not privately owned corporations who never not once have ever been transparent.
Sadly, you whiffed on the bit about the company is not transparent which in turn leaves you missing 20% of Kroger's gross margin. Which for the recent quarter is sitting at 22.6%
You can choose to remain a dupe or, stop championing people who fully do not give one shit about your situation.
It is a publicly traded company for goodness sake. Call the SEC if you think you have a case. You inflated their net margin by a factor of over 15c. Like I said. Reddit economists.
Margins are back to normal levels already, almost all companies saw profits grow post pandemic, and that’s not unusual given what’s happened in past recessions.
I’m hungry so I’m not going to eat ? That makes sense, lol
If your sick of prices then f%#king throw a brick and take the damn food. They’re ripping you off then laughing about it with this food fasting they probably came up with just so the morons think they made a difference and you don’t riot. Don’t fall for it. They rip you off so do the same. Passive disobedience is for hippies and perpetual victims. Get Aggressive and smash it up
The solution was right in front of us this whole time. Eat your fellow humans and then we don’t have to give our money to corrupt super markets again
Thanks. Confirmed best day to go to a nice restaurant. Won’t be busy. I’ll get great service because they’ll be wanting a big tip to make up for the slow business.
This is as dumb as fuel strikes. Unless you change your habits to reduce the overall amount of money you spend on goods and services then it makes no difference to the bottom line. Grocery workers just get an easy day followed by a day from hell when everyone goes back to catch up on their shopping.
People who don’t understand economics who will buy a bunch of food before and after the strike, proving absolutely nothing except that they don’t understand economics.
Can we stop this cringe trend of protesting as fashion? Protest something with an actual goal, with actual leaders trying to direct change.
Too bad individuals don’t really have much power against big companies. They are providing us with things we need to survive… am going to go grow my own food?

Gonna need some sauce on these record profits 🤨

Margins so low Kroger had to scrape change out of their pockets to come up with the $24.6B offer to buy out Albertsons.
SneksOToole@reddit
Tell me you don’t understand what a margin is without telling me directly.
trufus_for_youfus@reddit
This is like getting angry at a low wage worker for accumulating savings over several decades.

Squeezing the customer with 2% net margins? Give me a break.

Dude. Do you know what the hell a gross margin is? I specifically called this very thing out in my first comment.
kon---@reddit
Dude. Do you need me to draw you a picture of transparency?
They're lying. Okay?
Anyway....

Because people will stock up ahead of this nonstarter...
And what's the antiwork sub doing promoting something that is a straight line to lay offs?

A one day hunger strike. That will show them.
