I play games at work all the time. If we're not running, due to, like, maintenance or whatever, it's not my problem. I still have to be there per the attendance policy, and work still has to pay me per the union. Even when we're running, there are lulls for a few hours here and there where I can play something.
Quality control in a factory. Most of our tests are done in an hour or two, and we only get samples every 3-4 hours. Usually they overlap, sometimes they don't.
The factory floor does less than us on most nights, and only requires a diploma/GED. I obviously can't speak for all QC departments in the world, but mine requires an associate's in either a science or engineering discipline.
Recently I've been playing more Runescape mobile. Gotta get that xp in. Although I've also been playing a bunch of assorted switch games. I was playing through the N64 catalog before switching over to RS. My main problem is that there's no wi-fi at my job, and my cell connection is garbage on a good day, so I can't play anything that requires an internet connection that wasn't optimized for 2004 Internet speeds.
I didn't realize RuneScape was on mobile now. My brothers played it all the time when i was young and i never got to play it. Maybe this is a sign 🤔
If you're looking for a game you can stop playing at any moment on mobile, android specifically, check out shattered pixel dungeon for an amazing turn based dungeon crawler

I'm this wagie. I have one of those techfag jobs but get shitty salary, don't get any wfh, and get BS tasks to do all day while getting watched over. So naturally i cope and seethe when I see people do similar job make 3x my salary while working 4 hours a week.
Either you don't have tbe experience yet to change to a better job, in which case this shitty job is them giving you a title you don't deserve yet in return for treating you like shit, or you're qualified to find a better job, but just dont...
I'm the other guy. I have a techfag job that pays ~$100k per year depending on client projects and is 4 days a week, part-time, work from home. It feels great.
Kenshi, Crusader Kings, and Stellaris. All of this game can ruin your life and i'm not fucking hyperboling like some out of touch boomer, the stimulation can suck out your focus for anything else other than clicking maps for hours straight, eating drinking pissing shitting be damned.
Don't listen to him. I stole hundreds of hours of company time, and saved myself the stress while accomplishing an unbelievable amount of personal work. Many jobs are BS jobs. I was a salesman for an industrial company that had already reached its effective market share. Basically, it was impossible to improve any metric. But it was possible to get paid to journal, organize my week, and learn to write well.
If you're putting in actual effort at an average desk job, you either suck at it or you have very little to do most days. 40 hours a week is an absurd amount of time to do what usually amounts to very little work.
the guys who are like this are usually the poor bastard immigrants on h1bs, meaning if they lose their job, they're getting physically removed. sure they're getting more money than they'll ever see back home, but its a fucking stressful existence.
Anon is mad for no reason. There are plenty of jobs you can perform with maximum diligence and still have the time and energy to play games if your attendance is required.
My big boss caught me playing BrawlStars and didn't care. Still got an offer to extend my contract months after. It's the lower managerial kiss asses that get mad when they see you get comfortable.
I think it's designed for 40 yr old normal people that technology is a little hard to Manipulate hence slower productivity. Company sees it as normal though. They hire a 22 yo that's great at computers and does all tasks in half the time. Job is done but employee finishes tasks too quickly. This is why a lot of people "pretend to work" so they don't get more tasks handed to them.
If it's a meaningless desk job, and no one is affected by it, play all the games you want.
But if it's a situation where doing less work forces your coworkers to do more, I'm not above telling the manager (and you) that you're being a lazy peice of shit. I fucking hate coworkers who make my job harder than it needs to be.
Yes. We are all caged in here together. It sucks equally for everyone. But if we all do our share of the work, it will make things easier on everyone, and we might even get to go home early.
My job is very physical. By the time I get off I am sweaty, sore, and worn out. We work in group of 3, so if one of us is being lazy, the other 2 are putting in 50% more work, and that fucking sucks piss out of the balls of christ.
I just recently lost my shit on a lazy coworkers lol. He was still fairly new, but it only took me a few weeks to realize how damn lazy he was. Never doing what he was supposed to be doing, would take as many breaks as he felt like, would show up late and leave early, no-call-no-showed twice. Finally, like 3 weeks in, he decides he need to leave early for like the 6th time, and I fucking snapped on him. I feel bad, because some of the shit I said was truly harsh, but god damn he needed to hear it. He got fired the next day and I got a warning from the manager to "never talk to a coworker like that again" lol
This physical labor is supposed to be temporary. It's a new-ish business and the plan is to have this work automated, but in the meantime it still has to be done. This guy knew what he signed up for.
I'm the only one who does my job at my company, they care that I'm present and care I do my work. It's easy to achieve these goals. I play sanctus reach during the day, and sometimes darktide in meetings.
Yes I'm gay for Warhammer, yes anyone who complains is just butthurt
Lol no, I used to be on call as an engineer, psychically on site, a lot.
When shit went down, I busted my ass for 10-12 hours. 90% of the time, I spent 6 hours watching movies/playing games/learning languages, and working maybe 2 hours.
Also the doormen doing 24h shifts just chilled for 18 lol
Half the C-suite incorporates full rounds of golf into their "workdays." As long as you're not hoovering up cocaine like an investment banker, keep holding down the fort even if you dare indulge in something more fun than solitaire.
Idk what the fuck I would even do for half the working day without some vidya close to hand, I guess this is why boomers make such a big deal out of office chatter, often you are waiting on someone or something else before you can actually work and need to kill time.
