That 245 is awesome.
Brick shaped Volvo is best Volvo, although /r/Volvo might disagree.

I had a 240, before they could be called classics. Drove it up to about 320k miles before the odometer broke but it was still going strong. I wanted to sell it and get something more modern, because even though the engine was great, the car was aging around it - rust, no A/C, glove box door flopping open over every bump, suspension bushings clunking, etc. It added up. At that time it was just an old tired car and no one wanted to buy it, esp. because of the unknown miles. So I ended up selling it for $700 to a Volvo shop for parts. I said “can’t you give me a little more? The engine runs perfectly.” The guy said “yeah, they all do”.
Point is - if your engine happens to be shot for some reason (like lack of maintenance) don’t spend big money to rebuild it, because there should be tons of good used ones available that should drop right in.

In Hungary this is a rare car. Maybe 15-20 running Volvo 245 1. Gen what we have

Gorgeous early 245, could definitely use something else in place of that BW55 transmission
DumbChauffeur@reddit
The single round light front end is the best 240 front end. Reminds me of my first car, a ‘79 242.

Terrible idea for a first car to be a project, but that’s a pretty cool one.
logges@reddit
What happened with all the your first car shouldn't be your project car! guys? Where did they go?
bubbleddusty@reddit
All cars I’ve ever owned have been unfinished projects someone else gave up on, every time it has turned out to be an amazing decision
Global_Tie_8695@reddit
That’s a cool project car tho. Restoring a 1977 with a B21A engine sounds like a fun challenge. Excited to see how it turns out
elpiotre@reddit
Very nice, looks like a wonderful project, keep this patina of you can
szsphoto@reddit (OP)
Ahh never. We wanna make this body perfect, and repaint the whole chassis
elpiotre@reddit
That's sad, but whatever floats your boat
aForgedPiston@reddit

szsphoto@reddit (OP)
Spare parts in the trunk
aForgedPiston@reddit
Siiiiiiick thanks for showing me, I was definitely curious as to what it all was!
szsphoto@reddit (OP)
2 headlights, 2 tail lights, grille, alternator, chrome line etc etc 😁💪🏻 there is as much value in the trunk as I bought the whole car for
