*Registering to Vote
Please be aware, you cannot register online to vote as a Texas resident. If you completed a form online, you will still need to print out the form, sign it, and mail it in to your county's election office.
Check Dallas County's voter registration webpage for more information and for alternative ways to register. https://www.dallascountyvotes.org/voters/registration/register/
However, you may opt-in to register to vote if you are renewing your ID, replacing your ID, or updating the information on your ID online. Find more information here: https://www.votetexas.gov/register-to-vote/update-voter-registration.html
*Already Registered? Check Your Status Here: https://teamrv-mvp.sos.texas.gov/MVP/mvp.do
*Recently Moved? Questions About ID?
Do your best to make sure that you are registered to vote in the county you currently reside in and your registration information matches the information on your ID. It doesn’t mean you won’t be able to vote, but I would try to do this to eliminate any complications with voting.
- Acceptable Forms of ID and FAQs: https://www.votetexas.gov/mobile/id-faqs.htm
-
- My name on my approved photo ID or my supporting ID (if applicable) does not exactly match my name on my voter registration card. Can I still vote?
- Election officials will review the ID and if a name is “substantially similar” to the name on their list of registered voters, you will still be able to vote, but you will also have to submit an affidavit stating that you are the same person on the list of registered voters.

I registered through post card and website saying I’m not registered.
Yearsignal4059@reddit (OP)
When was that?

it was Like 2-3 months ago

I would ask them about it in person or just send in a new application like someone else said.

Then send in a new Registration Application. It doesn't create any problems on their end to receive more than one application, they simply use the most recent one received. It works this way because the process to update address/etc is to simply send in a new Application.

Go to your county registrar if not showing active in a few days!

Upvoted. ✔️ Checked status. ✔️
I fear that one day I’ll check my status and it’s not active. Never thought that was something to worry about.

Good info!

Also note that your Voter Registration Application must be received by the deadline. Postmarks are ignored, so if you mail it a week before the deadline and it arrives the day after deadline then you don't get to vote this year. Procrastination is one of the things that those who don't want us to vote rely on. You should print out, sign, and mail your application tomorrow, make sure to sign in black ink and print clearly if you fill it out by hand. Check your registration status every few days after mailing, and if it's not active by the week before the deadline then you'll need to go to your county's registrar in person and submit the application then. If you wait until the last minute to register and there's a problem with the paperwork then you don't get to vote this year. Please don't let that happen.

Yeah, I just put the information that is presented online, but I would most definitely treat it like how you are saying.
Do not wait until the last minute. You don't want to give them any reason to not accept your registration form. Take it to the post office ASAP or register in person.
