swapping a trash 3 valve/6.blow/6.4 in a 99-10 f series for something nicer

I'm curious what it would require to put a 460 or a 351, Hell, maybe even a bbc or sbc with a th400 into those 99-10 f250s and 350s you see for peanuts. The trucks go for sub 1500 on facebook or gov auctions and they are in good shape cause the youngest ones of that era are barely old enough for a learners permit. I am curious about this cause you could build a modern crew cab truck with a utility body and cushy interior with good parts support for sub 5 or 10k.

I am concerned about the wiring for the truck. Would I need a different gauge cluster, Would I need to worry about the BCM for the door locks and seats? or could i buy an xl or low spec truck with very simple controls and forget the power locks and seats. Can I get the AC and heat to work after reworking the modules and wiring? Or even the wipers and headlights? The transfer case, radio, wipers? how complex is it? Guys do cummins swaps on them, why cant I do a carbed 460 with a zf5?
