Out of state registration

I moved here about a month ago, and my license and registration are still from out-of-state. I do have Texas insurance though. I am aware of the 30/90 day rule to switch to TX plates/license, but my window tint is preventing me from passing inspection currently.
To avoid having to pay hundreds for a tint replacement, I was thinking of waiting until January to register and take care of getting a new license. My insurance and registration will still be active then.
Will I be screwed if I'm in an accident or get pulled over?

Roll down the windows before you go to inspection. Just be cool. Don’t self incriminate.

I want to know who is downvoting us for giving real-world advice based on lived experiences lmao. Need to get the cops out of here. I'm adding dark tint to my other cars now, just out of spite.

If you do that, better pull the fuse for the windows. They'll try to roll them up.

If you want to vote in the election you need to get on the ID thing ASAP. I moved to a new address and it took ages to get an appointment but I finally found one for this week.

Don’t park on the street in Dallas if your reg is more than 30 days out of date. They just passed a rule to tow for that.

Just get it inspected somewhere on Harry Hines. Don't mess up your car's tint to follow some goofy law. I've had 5% on my car for ten years. No issues.
