The A115 is definitely a good air cooler, but it's on the pricey side at $100 USD. If it were a little cheaper, it'd be much easier to recommend.

Air coolers fall into two categories nowadays: Comparable to the PS120 or overpriced.

Sadly, this one seems to be "comparable to PS120 but louder".

if any cooler is gonna be worth 100 bucks it should be in the unlocked i9 torture test on air category.

Or uses active noise cancellation for almost silent operation.
Winter_2017@reddit
That will never happen. Active noise cancellation relies on knowing where your ears are relative to the noise source, so moving around a room, even a couple cm, will stop it from working.

The biggest upgrade I can think of would be a build in fan controller that utilizes the cooler vs ambient temp to control the fan speed.
The cpu temp should not be used as a control input for fan speed.

Reminds me of the cooler master geminii 2

...how??
rubbercat@reddit
Every half-decade or so Corsair releases an outrageously expensive air cooler, sells about 5 of them, then delights r/buildapcsales when the inevitable $20 fire sale comes around.
kikimaru024@reddit (OP)
The A500 is their only other air-cooler ever.
2 releases is not enough to show any kind of trend.

How good is it compared to thermalright ?
conquer69@reddit
You can buy 3 similar thermalright coolers for the same price.
Valmarr@reddit
Good for intel, not for amd cpu's.
