Noise

Are there just random parking lots around Dallas that groups set up and party in on Saturday nights? Or just the one by me, that plays music so loud the bass carries through my apartment. Marsh/Frankford
ivisiblecow@reddit
I live in the neighborhood, tons of Venezuelans have moved to this part of town and they like being load and party.
ITakeLargeDabs@reddit
Yep, I live in Addison and my complex is almost all Venezuelans. They are nice people for the most part but they drink in big groups in the park, parking lots, play their music incredibly loud, and typically don't pick up after themselves. The amount of empty beer cans/bottles/boxes I see when walking my dog in the morning is saddening. I just wish the people who are coming here for a better life would actually try to better themselves. Why make that giant risky journey for nothing? Makes no sense to me.
sealclubberfan@reddit
To be fair, there are plenty of non Venezuelans that do the same thing at a sporting event. They will eat their pretzel or hot dog, then leave the trash in the stands. I don't think it's fair to single out a specific group. I'm not saying it's ok to leave trash behind, but there are plenty of other people that do exactly what they are doing.
ITakeLargeDabs@reddit
Do you not understand the massive difference between a tail gate and an apartment complex? Like no way you're being serious right now...
sealclubberfan@reddit
What is the difference exactly? Why should it matter where trash is left?
ITakeLargeDabs@reddit
So tail gating = party environment. apartment complex = living environment. People should be playing loud music and drinking at a tail gate. It's not okay to leave your trash behind but everyone does agree that area is for partying and partying is messy. People SHOULD NOT be playing loud music and drinking like it's a tail gate an apartment complex. If you're really trying to play this card you're either disingenuous or you don't get it,
sealclubberfan@reddit
Where did I bring up tail gate? I was talking about in the stands themselves. Again, WHY DOES IT MATTER?!?! If they are playing music during the time of day when it's allowed, why are you so grumpy about it? They pay to have the access to that area. You don't really have a complaint to be had about loud music if it's outside and during the day.
Megegz@reddit
Have you not taken the time to actually read the thread ? Or you're a troll? Or virtue signaling?
sealclubberfan@reddit
I read someone complaining specifically about Venezuelans. If they have an issue with loud noise, they need to complain to their apartment complex if it's that egregious.
ITakeLargeDabs@reddit
Lmao
truth-4-sale@reddit
For many cultures outside America, getting drunk is a National pastime. I'm thinking of the UK, Ireland, and some South and Central American countries as well.
ITakeLargeDabs@reddit
Getting drunk in the US is also a pastime. The difference is that we respect our neighbors and stay inside a building/house/etc if we're in a large moder urban environment. I wake up around 5-6 am most mornings and the amount of times I've seen these people STILL partying in the parking lot blaring music is pretty wild, almost two full hands worth. I just wish these people who claim to want a better life would actually act like it. That's all.
burrito3ater@reddit
It's funny that you mentioned they're nice followed by a list of negative stuff.
But on the reals, why come to America only turn it into the craphole they escaped from? The part that gets to me is how they complain about the US and say how Venezuela is better in every way.
ITakeLargeDabs@reddit
Yep. If you're going to risk your life and families for a better life, step 2 once you get here is to actually start living a better life. A lot of these people arent coming to be Americans, they justwant to be a Venezuelan, a Mexican, a Hondurian on the right side of the border and nothing more. Unfortunately, like most people regardless of race or what ethnicity, they take the easy way out/think the hard part is over and stop trying. Take a bunch of people who don't understand the culture, and really aren't trying to, and you get the current reality we live in
AdWide3730@reddit
Yup. Rudest bunch of people I've ever encountered.
Karmaismyuser@reddit (OP)
But why in the Aldi parking lotđ hopefully enough noise complaints move them on their way
ComprehensiveCake173@reddit
It's woken up my neighbors at crazy times, like 3 AM. I sleep right through it and have never heard it. It's crazy how far the sound carries. The more curious/tired neighbors poked around more and found out that the parties were being held at the Valley View Mall empty lot. That's at least 6 miles away. It must be some LOUD music.
Karmaismyuser@reddit (OP)
It wakes us up at 3am, but I couldâve sworn itâs happening right behind us. I would be amazed if it were 6 miles from us
Megegz@reddit
Dealing w this same issue for months now, it's so loud it sounds like it's the house behind me . I live off Beltline and Hillcrest area but turns out it does travel this far from the old Valley View parking lots.. there are threads on Next Door explaining it, people have gotten out to drive around to search for it ( we did too but couldn't figure out where it was coming from) .. they found the large group w several cars w the GIANT speakers and yep its Venezuelans drinking, trashing up the lots they move around to, and blasting music ( I don't know how they can talk to each other when the music is traveling for MILES? ! ) .. there's also video on Nextdoor when someone found them off the tollway by Frankfort/ Haverwood neighborhood... the video shows again shows the giant loud speakers and people w the Venezuelan flag on their cars etc .. sometimes if the cops show up the group leaves for awhile but they just start up again. Idk what to do besides call 911 and city council rep đ
PVT-Villa@reddit
Call the cops and let them know if they are Venezuelans. Keep calling because a lot of times they wonât come out but dpd just got a new gang task force looking for tda.
Karmaismyuser@reddit (OP)
Thatâs exciting news, Iâll definitely do that
Karmaismyuser@reddit (OP)
I just looked at Next Door and had no idea the issue was this extensive. Looks like it made the news a few days ago too
PVT-Villa@reddit
Venezuelans are notorious for this!! Call 911 if itâs a problem and let them know that these guys are Venezuelans. Dpd has a gang unit that is actively looking for TDA gang tattoos and members. These people do not follow laws, are loud and will drink non stop for 48hrs if allowedâŠ. I just had them come out for my neighbors last night. Good luck!
Sanchastayswoke@reddit
I used to live in an apartment at marsh & Frankford & it was so poorly insulated that ANY bass from anywhere carried through it so badly. It was the bane of my existence.Â
truth-4-sale@reddit
In an aparment complex I lived in in the 1990s, when a heavy thunderclap went off, sure enough, some people's car's motion alarms would start going off. The apartment windows were not that thick, so it was a pain. I have earplugs that I can use now if something like that happens, but the windows in my home are thick enough to handle more sound.
But, no matter how thick the windows, it's the super low bass than some people love to rock, that cannot be avoided. Thankfully my neighbors aren't those bass rocking kind of folks!!
Sanchastayswoke@reddit
I envy you! Truly I doÂ

Our society has created this, especially in cities, Dallas being a good example where we have overbuilt to the point all natural space and anywhere a person can go to be around other people without spending inordinate amounts of money has been rendered non-existent. Younger folks simply enjoy cars, loud music, being seen and socializing. We took it all away from them, and now they create it where they can.
Itâs also exacerbated here because there are no beaches, lakes hardly any parks and if they do go to a park theyâd probably be harassed by police. Nowadays itâs everybody go home and bury yourself into Social media or spend $100 a night in a bar, and not everyone can afford that so here we are
sleepyLynt@reddit
Thereâs a lot of validity to this statement. In DFW like most big cities you need white noise machines/fans to help drown out the vibrance of a large city. Wish we had more public plazas with large walkable areas where people could have more sanctioned block parties, celebrations and generally celebrate the diversity of our city. I despise loud cars but kids are going to be kids. The mayor of Dallas seems to preoccupied with trying to get another NFL team vs prioritizing what the next 20-30 years is going to look like for the city of Dallas.
Dragonfruit-Shoddy@reddit
You've created the problem by excusing such nonsense.
SgtButtShanx@reddit
Itâs easy to forget we were all young once
AggravatingMath717@reddit
Bingo, I donât know what they want kids to do we have literally eliminated everywhere there used to be for them to go
Megegz@reddit
This group of people ( seen videos) isn't kids. It's grown adults... blasting music so loud from giant speakers that it literally travels for MILES. From 10pm til 7am sometimes. It's unsettling
Karmaismyuser@reddit (OP)
Sorry, at 3am they can go home
Sanchastayswoke@reddit
I never did shit like this when I was young.Â
truth-4-sale@reddit
When I was a teen before driving, I would occasionally spend the night with fiends, and we would ride around on our bikes at 3 am in the morning. But there was no music blasting.
As a teen driving, we would drive around on the Boulevards playing music loud, but mostly with the windows up. Few people back then, had monster bass stereo systems anyways.
I find it a big joke when some guy in beat up car is drving around in the daytime, with the bass way up, but the bass speakers were torn up a long time ago, so the loud distored bass parts sound like shit. Quite a statement to make for a 30 year old man.
Karmaismyuser@reddit (OP)
There are plenty of bars for people to go to for a party atmosphere. Itâs no excuse for creating it from 2-5am in between apartment areas and disturbing others
truth-4-sale@reddit
In the 90's, I heard that a large group of "youth" would hang out all night long at some places along the south side of 635, west of 35.
Competitive_Event948@reddit
There is a noise ordinance that you can call in on in regards to the city of Dallas. They will send someone to shut it down if you make a call.
truth-4-sale@reddit
Look up and read through the Noise ordinances to familiarize yourself for what is and what is not lawful, and for times of day/night, etc.
10Core56@reddit
Call the non emergency line and make a noise complaint. After the second time you can go to the Dallas 311 app and file a chronic noise complaint. If you and your neighbors do it enough they will eventually get them out.
I know because my daughter did it and the police started to monitor the area, and the parties stopped.
Good luck!
Karmaismyuser@reddit (OP)
I did call 311 initially, but they directed me to call 911 because the group is trespassing and thatâs a 911 issue
10Core56@reddit
Well. Then keep reporting it, and tell your friends/neighbors to keep doing it. Squeaky wheel, yo!
truth-4-sale@reddit
Loudest Squeaky Wheel thing.

Is that what I see referred to as a âblock partyâ on other apps?
Karmaismyuser@reddit (OP)
I have no idea but maybe
RMM214TX@reddit
They do it here at Timberglen apartments too đ€
Karmaismyuser@reddit (OP)
Itâs ridiculous
nounthennumbers@reddit
This has been going on around FND for an awhile. They get chased from place to place. They were at a car wash at Frankford and Pear Ridge, then got chased to the old parking garage thatâs a sprouts now at DNT and Briargrove, then behind the building at at DNT and GibbonsâŠ
Complain to Cara Mendelson and she will get them chased off to the next place.
JLOBRO@reddit
They were at Timberglen Park for a while too.
Karmaismyuser@reddit (OP)
Iâve called for noise complaints/trespassing the past two weeks itâs happened but Iâm happy to make more calls. So this is just one group partying place to place? I havenât heard anything about any destruction of property but I could be wrong
lilkrytter@reddit
All around the DFW. Sorry fren.
Karmaismyuser@reddit (OP)
Thatâs crazyđ«
