Wall to Wall Nazis spewing the most vile antisemitism, incels openly advocating for "white women extinction" and routine stalking and harassing of trans women redditors. Plus the usual fire and CSAM you would expect to find on a site infestedwith these types. Don't ever go there.

It's a post by one of their users trying to advertise their stupid website. They do this every few weeks, apparently because mildly annoying our sub with like 50 active users is the highlight of their lives.

They just want attention. It's a site of tryhards who want to be known as the epic trolls of reddit, but are too spineless to say the gamer word or do anything interesting, so they're stuck pasting this same thread here every so often for the same six people to reply to.

Never in my internet-addicted life have I ever encountered CSAM. And how exactly does a neonazi demand the extinction of white women? I thought White Pride was one of their top priorities.

This is what happened after one of reddit's mass-bans. The community came up with some catchy name for this particular one, which I forgot. But its when they hired Ellen Pao to come in and be a scapegoat for white washing reddit.
Voat was the big reddit alt at the time. It was AMAZING. Straight up was 2008 reddit in terms of content quality and meaningful discussion.
Unfortunately the reddit bans kicked all the hate groups off of reddit. Reddit was big enough that these people were diluted to a very manageable and functional level with the rest of the community. But, when they went to the smaller reddit clones, like Voat and rdrama, they totally overwhelmed those communities.
The content on Voat disintegrated almost over night. Their site traffic went up by an order of magnitude. The owners/admins were overwhelmed. They servers were overwhelmed. The site crashed for like two weeks. When it got restored, the assholes far outnumbered the nice people there and the site became unusable for anyone else. It was like a tactical nuke went off.
I dont think Reddit had the forsight that their sterilization efforts would cripple competitors, because Reddits admins typically dont have any forsight, but that was the accidental effect of that era.
I was pretty heart broken because Reddit has been a shit hole for a long time. I was pretty unhappy with the site, but just like today, there were no alternative. Voat was amazing and Im grateful I got to enjoy it for 6 months in its prime before reddit killed it.
But yeah. The rest of the internet is still struggling with this same issue. Reddit sucks. Its model sucks. It gets worse about once/year. Being publicly traded now means reddit is going to continue to get worse.
But any emerging competitor is going to be inundated with alt-right weirdos that cant be on reddit anymore, making the barrier to entry for new player insurmountably high.
This is just another chapter in how the beauty and fun of the internet has completely died in the last 15 years.

Whether you use the old "bar" analogy or not, the reality is if you tolerate nazis and most of the rest decide not to you end up with all the nazis. At the end of the day nazi speech doesn't bring much to any table of thought or enjoyment for anyone but other nazis. Voat already had a minority before I think it was the FPH ban, enough to ignore or tell which pier to fall off, but they always bring more.

Voat didnt tolerate Nazis. they didnt have the resources to effectively moderate them off the website. Like I said, it was like a nuke went off.
Yeah. Of course they did. everyone does. Reddit, to this day, still has a minority. You cant get rid of them all.

And theres a big difference between "tolerating nazis" and booting everyone off that has a laugh about fat people.
