Logitech mice will never be great as long as they double click
Exotria@reddit
I got a G502X specifically because of the new switches that can't double click. Naturally, now the function buttons are double clicking since they only used the optical switches for the main buttons.
Annihilism@reddit
I've had like 10 logitech mice and literally none of them have this problem.
kazenorin@reddit
And it's not like other brands don't have this problem. I love my G900 because you can literally swap out the switch plates for another set of switches, no need to desolder yourself.

Had 3, all started double clicking within a year

I still have G304(Chinese variant of 305), after 2+ years it never started double clicking. I now moved to Beast Mini, but 304 still works. Maybe I just got lucky.

Had one, replaced switches 3 times. I'm gonna keep this mouse forever

I moved to razer's mice after the double click problems with Logitech's and while they don't have the double clicking issue, the scroll wheels are worse. Returned the Viper mini due to random scrolling in opposite direction and the return started having the same issue in few months.
Deathadder has fared better but its scroll wheel starts squeaking now and then.

I got a Razer Deathadder and when one of the mouse buttons stopped working and I tried to file a warranty claim the process was such a pain in the ass that I quit.
Logitech just had me record a video to verify the problem and then sent me a replacement; I didn't have to return the defective mouse. I'm not sure if that's their policy anymore, but I appreciated it.
Meanwhile, Razer had me record a video first thing, then kept asking me to perform troubleshooting steps that I already told them I'd tried (since they told me to in the support article), and then a couple times closed out my ticket before I took a few days to reply (and after reopening the ticket, they basically wanted to start from the beginning again), and then they wanted me to ship the defective mouse back to them at my own expense, warning that if the mouse was deemed non-defective I would not be receiving the product back or a replacement. After that I complained and they agreed to provide a shipping label, but at that point I was done.
I'm pretty sure that's the goal, make the return process such a hassle that people give up and they don't have to honor their warranty, so they won that battle. Still, I'm never buying another Razer product again.
I did have a string of Logitech mice that had double click problems, which is why I switched to options that had optical switches for a bit. But those had their own issues, so I'm back to using a Logitech 305. If it starts double clicking again, hopefully the warranty process is still painless, and at least if it does break it's pretty cheap to replace.

All Logitech gaming products are trash. G102 mouse died for no reason, G213 keyboard arrived with several keys dead, G512 keyboard had problems in all ctrl-shift-alt keys. Second G102 has double clicking and erratic scroll wheel behavior.
Threw the keyboard after it got an acute case of getting HULK SMASHed and got a Ducky One III and waiting for mouse to get itself smashed to get a Zowie EC3.
I kept getting Logitech because I had another Logitech product and didn't want to install a second peripheral program, but I managed to break the cycle.
Fuck Logitech G.

They used to be so good. I refuse to give up my G502.
PM_ME_UR_TOSTADAS@reddit
What I frequently hear from owners of G502 and the like is "oh it broke two years ago and I fixed it by doing X" or "I had to do X mod and it is great". While it's not great, it's better than how flimsy G102 is.

I have one of the original ones which I think was better made although the scroll wheel is metal so it reacts with sweat and rusts. Other then that it's still working fine after about 10 years I think. It's wearing though like the rubber on the thumb rest down to the plastic.
An alternative mouse would be great but it would need to be a very similar shape with the thumb rest and back and forward buttons which I use for going back and formward in web pages. The unlock ont he scroll wheel is also great if you want to quickly zoom to the bottom of a very long page.

I was on my 3rd G Pro Wireless before I figured out it’s really cheap to just replace the switches in them. Shouldn’t have to but the G Pro is my favorite mouse and it’s not difficult if you can solder at all.

Me using a G300S and a K360 for 5 years: oh boy, lucky me!
djashjones@reddit
I try to avoid buying anything from Logitech due to their crappy software.
Plank_With_A_Nail_In@reddit
Do people really use this software more than once in their lives? Mouse works just fine without installing any software at all, its not mandatory.
hedir12617@reddit
What year is it? This mouse has been out for many years at this point.
Runonlaulaja@reddit
Yeah, they are so old there was even a price hike few years ago. It frustrated me a lot because I used the wired version (G102, bought from Japan) for years and was eyeing G305 for a long time but they went and upped the price in the meantime.
Although after checking I am not sure if the Lightspeed version is just a rehash, because in Finnish sites G305 is just G305 without Lightspeed in the name.
This is my absolute favourite mouse of all time. I made two preset DPI settings and saved them, don't use the horrible app and batteries aren't a problem for me since I use re-chargeable batteries and they last for ages anyway.
I like the small form factor and the two thumb buttons are placed perfectly.
My first serious gaming mouse was Razer Diamondback back in the day (2005 or so) and that formed my grip and love for smaller mice. I hate big gaming mice, they feel clunky. I am also a high-DPI player so small mouse is perfect for my.
Plank_With_A_Nail_In@reddit
Have you really never heard of inflation before? Its been like a huge thing for the last 3 years.
SleepingBear986@reddit
When you say the battery lasts for ages, it is AGES. It cannot be overstated, literally months of life out of a single rechargeable AA.
Regular_Tomorrow6192@reddit
This mouse came out 6 years ago...

I wouldn't go to Tom's Guide for gaming mouse reviews lol

You cold have ended that sentence at " I wouldn't go to Tom's Guide" and been just as accurate.

Rmb died year after purchase. My final straw with logitech.
n3onfx@reddit
Old-ass mouse, I have two and I love them. Been lucky with double-clicking apparently because never had the issue.
"Battery powered" being listed as a con is stupid though, you can just pop out the spent one and replace it with another in a couple seconds without having to plug anything in to recharge, rotate a couple eneloops or other rechargeable batteries and it's my favorite way to deal with a wireless mouse.
