Swiss Government Declaration: Switzerland is in a "pre-war" phase, with all departments planning accordingly.
Military Activity: Increased military exercises, including complete border lockdown practices, low-altitude fighter jet flybys, and numerous helicopter sightings.
Stockpiling: Military units are building up new stockpiles of essentials in secret locations.
Border Security: Local infantry units are preparing for complete lockdowns of borders with France, Germany, and Italy.
Secrecy: Preparations are shrouded in secrecy, with vague scenarios given to military personnel about potential crises.
Potential Crisis: Preparations are based on concerns about possible large-scale civil unrest and war in Europe.
European Conflict: The ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict is believed to be a factor, with concerns it might escalate into a broader European war.

Any other source other than “elsewhere” and “an intelligence”?

This reads like a Canadian Prepper video. "MY SECRET SOURCES THAT I CAN'T BE BOTHERED TO TELL YOU ABOUT BUT GO FIND OUT YOURSELF I DON'T NEED TO DO THE WORK FOR YOU DON'T QUESTION ME WW3 NEXT TUESDAY"
fortevn@reddit
Yes. I believe if they claim “swiss gov declared” they should at least source, you know, that declaration.

And Austria...they all will soon.
lerpo@reddit
Well I'm sure the prepper channels will jump all over this and release and "emergency video" tomorrow citing "government has confirmed WW3 preparations"
bearfootmedic@reddit
This is how the grift-o-sphere goes round.
The prepper communities would be much better off with a focus on critical thinking and mutual aid.

Ain't no money in that.
YourDementedAunt@reddit
There's views on their videos which equals as bucks and they are almost always shilling something; crypto, precious metals, meal buckets, Amazon affiliate links etc.
Lots of money in it.

Canadian prepper no longer advertises his store. He realized that there are idiots willing to watch his "end of the world in 72 hours" videos every day and that generates even more $$$ from adds.
es_crow@reddit
?? he still mentions his store, i have no idea why not mentioning his store would make him more ad money

What a dumb argument. "It feels like it so it must be so"

It's worse (I mean "worser"):
Politifact: Hal Turner uses internet and radio broadcasts to float conspiracy theories and hate speech. In 2010, he was sentenced to 33 months in prison for threatening three federal judges over their decision to uphold handgun bans in Chicago.

I had an AI translation done of the video (German to English). Still parsing through it (hour long video).
This is apparently a press conference on the study commission for security policy.
"Welcome to today's media conference.
Last year, the DDPS set up a study commission on security policy.
The aim was to provide impetus for security policy in the coming years.
The study commission has now handed over the report to the DDPS.
The recommendations are presented here today.
You have received the report in advance.
Of course, this is also published on the DDPS website. And after the media conference, Ms. Gentinetta
and Mr. Vogt will be available for interviews. "
Haven't had a chance to look for the DDPS website document.

Certainly SOME countries are in war phase.

A Google search reveals that Hal Turner, who posted this item, is a Holocaust denier and far-right felon.

Russia spent 8 years doing military exercises on the border with Ukraine, nothing ever happened, until it did. In February 2022 I was laughing at the idea that they would invade.
This conflict has been escalating month after month, year after year. Now the US is about to give permission for Ukraine to use US missiles for long range strikes deep inside of Russia, and Moscow knows it's coming. Just a year ago Biden refused to give tanks for fear that it would trigger WW3, now he wants to approve missile strikes on Moscow.
Then the US can just transfer unlimited numbers of long range missiles, something Russia won't survive, they're too big to protect all their vulnerable targets. They're already suffering to Ukrainian drones, against waves of Tomahawks they don't stand a chance, Ukraine will destroy their economic base, it won't matter if Russia takes Donetsk or not, they'll be broke.
Putin's only chance will be to prove that there is a red line, and only dropping a nuke will achieve that. Anything else will just prove that he's bluffing, nuclear deterrent only works if the other side thinks you'll actually do it. The number of people arguing that Russian nukes don't work is surreal.
Practical_Law_7002@reddit
Intelligence communities knew Russia was going to invade to the point I, a random civilian with no need to know, knew it was coming in October 2021.
The initial invasion itself was escalation, anything after was retaliation after retaliation.
If anything, Russia is being put down and rightfully so.
They've been analyzing the situation and adjusting with new information as time goes on, typically how it works and while sending American tanks to fight Russian ones was a controversial idea at first, they wanted to make sure Ukraine wasn't going to get steam rolled while conversely helping the best they can and not trying to start a global nuclear war.
It's a political balancing act and if you think you know better, run for office.

I have buddies who served in the army in the 2010's who were deployed to Ukraine to train their soldiers how to operate stingers and man powered aa defense systems. There were skirmishes between Ukraine and Russia prior to 2022

They've been receiving Russian gold for the past year that has helped Russia fund the war.
Now that we see Chinese banks cutting ties with Russia because of the lack of yuan available, I wonder if Switzerland is doing a similar maneuver. Perhaps posturing for "post war" moreso...
Ordinary_Chain_1185@reddit
I live in Italy literally 5kms from the border and there's nothing out of the ordinary going on.
Ok_Sea_6214@reddit
Does this mean they'll mine their bridges again.
Either way, these are scary times, Russia probably took note of every country who gave Ukraine aid, military or otherwise. Switzerland is on that list.
It's why I chose not to live in any country that might get involved in a nuclear exchange between Russia and NATO.
DwarvenRedshirt@reddit
I don't think they'd officially say whether or not they've mined the bridges again. However, I wouldn't be surprised if all the holes they had for explosives were still in place and ready/easily set up to have explosives placed again.
Ok_Sea_6214@reddit
Nato got fat and lazy after winning the cold war, the amount of waste is surreal.
Right now Russia is switching to full war footing, and keeps mobilizing every man they can, as if they are preparing for ww3, while nato keeps dragging its feet.
Switzerland was smart enough to maintain their conscript program and efficient spending, but they have no nuclear weapons.

Switzerland is non-aligned meaning it’s not part of NATO. They are probably reassessing this position due to recent events.
Departure_Sea@reddit
You mean how the rest of the EU threw neutrality back in the Swiss faces and banned them from being considered for weapons procurement?
BringbackDreamBars@reddit
Isn't this business as usual for Switzerland as strategic planning and self reliance are always at the top of their countries strategic plans?
Someone's slapped the Russia/Ukraine war on the front to make it look urgent?
iridescent-shimmer@reddit
Lol yes. My best friend grew up there and I visited a lot. Even with decades of neutrality as official policy, every building is mandated to have a bomb shelter.
