FTSP application processing time after new rule
Posted by saturn4862@reddit | flying | View on Reddit | 21 comments
is there anyone also applied for FTSP after the new rule took effect on 7/30? may I know how long is the processing time?
I've applied for an expedited application about two weeks ago but still not received the "fingerprint instruction email", so effectively stuck at the first step. the ftsp portal shows the status as "Document Accepted". Tried email support but got an auto-reply stating that the current email turnaround time is 45 days.
Thanks for the help!

Yup, the auto-reply said 45 days but I actually got my reply in 2 weeks. After I received fingerprint has been proceed email, it only took me another 2 days to receive an approval notice.

How long did it take for you to get a confirmation email after your fingerprint? I did mine on Oct 8th and still waiting for the fingerprint received email…
saturn4862@reddit (OP)
I got fingerprint received confirmation email in 1 day after fingerprint. I think the guide say contact them if you don’t get it in two weeks after fingerprints.

I mean, if it's around 45 days, it's going to be around that. It's the US government, nothing is quick with them.

Ii mean the email support to answer my query via email is 45 days, the application itself should be done within 5 business days according to their guide for expedite application.

I don't know anything about their new system, but it's the US government. I e seen applications go through in a week, I've seen some take many weeks. There's no rhyme or reason to it

Sign. Thanks for the info though

DHS website lists out some reasons why it may be delayed. I'd look there and talk to your student.
