Reviews needed for 24” 1440p 165Hz AOC Monitor (Q24G2A)

Hello all,
I am planning to buy 24” 1440p 165Hz Monitor by AOC (model Q24G2A). I am getting confused with how they are doing wordplay regarding freesync / g-sync. In some texts online I read the word "G-Sync Compatible", while at some other places I read "G-Sync" only. And then I come across a reviewer who said that its "Adaptive sync approved by Nvidia".
What do you all think about this monitor regarding its adaptive sync? What are your overall thoughts on the monitor itself?
Originally I am searching for 24 inch, QHD, 165 or 144 Hz monitor with Freesync. Do you think it will do the job I want it to do?
Thank you all!

Can you give a review of it? I am buying it i think

It works really nice. At my arms length distance of gaming. I cant give too much details, but the screen looks certainly in the mid range, good for many games. Does its job pretty well.
But the buttons underneath the panel are counterintuitive due to their positioning. You have to "feel" the buttons on low light conditions, because you cant see the button labels.
I also did a setting change which I think i can only fix by resetting to default: I turned on some unusual settings, so now during darker displays of gaming or movie watching (when during a night time video scene), the screen lowers its brightness and becomes darker. Thats a weird setting to have. It raises back again, like some weird auto brightness to save power. But luckily if you dont play around too much in the hardware settings, you wont do it like I did. Overall rating 8/10, im happy to have it.

Hey!
I have noticed the readability above and have a quick question regarding that. Recently I've bought a Viewsonic 27' at 1440 and it really hurts my eyes while scrolling through web and replying to text messages on my computer, that's mainly due to text not being crisp enough and looking kind of a blurry, you really need a perfect angle and daylight for it to look decent and not mess up with my eyes. It's really dissapointing to mention that.
Was wondering if, in general, have you spend some time surfing through the web or any activity that involves text on the 24' AOC 1440p monitor? I suspect that this might be my sweet spot due to higher PPI but trying to collect some data before attempting to buy. As for games, I'm mainly playing SP titles and very occasionally competitive, I am not that much into multiplayer shooting scene but I do run some FC from time to time(please excuse my choices here :D). As I've seen on the web and different posts there should be no issues on this monitor with ghosting or whatsover but my main concern is the text readability as I'm planning for a while now to get a monitor that can do both gaming and productivity.

i'm wonder if reading is enough good on it ? I see someone said that reading was less good than his old monitor 24" 1440p so it's a bit strange cause the dpi is higher in the aoc. I will use it mostly for code and games sometimes. Do you recommend it ?

Tbh, i dont know how to judge the readability. I dont read much on my PC. But doesnt mean that I dont read at all either. Some articles, sometimes wfh happens still. I havent noticed a difference. But gaming experience has of course improved with the higher dpi, resolution and frame rate.

The monitor supports VESA AdaptiveSync. G-Sync Compatible is Nvidia's branding for using that with their GPUs. Freesync is AMD's equivalent branding. Both Freesync and G-Sync work on AdaptiveSync monitors.

So technically this is a monitor which Nvidea approved as "yeah this will also work fine"? Basically like using a phone charger from, let's say, Anker on an iphone/samsung phone?

There are actual G-Sync monitors that have a hardware G-Sync module in them. It used to be that G-Sync would only work monitors like that and Freesync wouldn't work on them. They enabled G-Sync to work on AdaptiveSync monitors a few years ago, back in the 10xx gen, and introduced the G-Sync Compatible branding for that.
Actual G-Sync monitors generally cost over a $100 more, not many people buy them anymore.

did you consider 27 inch for 1440p, it loooks great
Psychorex21@reddit (OP)
I did but I figured that 24 inch QHD gives a higher ppi and thought that I should probably go for that instead
