I Can Hear My Neighbour Regularly Snoring, Can I Do Anything?

Living in a HMO (House of Multiple Occupation) & on a regular basis, can hear my neighbour on the floor below snoring. I'm not expecting him to suddenly stop snoring & he's aware he does, but does the property owner have any responsibility to do anything regarding this? I'm awake quite late usually & he's the opposite to me, so it goes on for quite a long time until I'm ready to sleep. I've got a medical condition that means I've got heightened senses, including hearing, but think it'd be possible for people without heightened sense to hear this pretty easily. Really not sure if anything even can be done, but it's just getting annoying when I'm struggling to concentrate in the evenings due to this. Thanks.

For you: a heavy rug should deaden the sound a bit. For him, if he asks for advice: suggest he gets a test for obstructive sleep apnoea. It interferes with your sleep which makes you extra tired and it can cause other health issues.

The only thing you can do is wear ear plugs or the like - there’s headbands that do similar if you don’t like in ear. Although colour me intrigue what medical condition increases your sense of hearing.

Asperger's Syndrome. Most of my senses are heightened, but my sense of smell is the opposite oddly.

He's mentioned it to me in conversation in general he snores, but I don't think there's much he can do about snoring (really don't know much about it, so I may be wrong) I was just trying to figure out if there's any fix with soundproofing, or any other alternatives.

There are several treatments for snoring I believe. It’s caused by the tongue falling to the back of the throat. People who sleep on their back and breathe through the mouth will snore. People who sleep on their front and breathe through the nose do not. If you have a reasonable relationship with him it may be worth suggesting he gets some help with it. Or you could offer some suggestions. Do a bit of research into it. It’s a fallacy that snoring “can’t be helped”. It can be.

Thanks a lot, really appreciate the information. I'm going to see how he is towards me next time I run into him & do a bit of research on this now, then bring it up if he seems in a decent mood. Since he's mentioned it to me anyway, maybe he was sorta indirectly asking if I've noticed, so guessing he'd maybe be happy to get information about treatment options.

You can wear earplugs or move. It's really not the landlord's problem if someone is snoring

It's more so the lack of soundproofing if you're able to hear it so clearly on such a regular basis. I'm trying to move due to some other stuff, but just trying to think of a solution that isn't earplugs/noise cancelling headphones.
