Plunge? I'm calling bullshit I was just at the grocery store. Shits just as expensive if not more expensive than last month.

Attilashorde@reddit
My individual experience is all that matters to me. It's an election year so good luck finding data that is factual.
mullahchode@reddit
thanks for letting us know we can ignore you lol
Attilashorde@reddit
Okay
mullahchode@reddit
after someone says "thank you", you say "you're welcome"
Attilashorde@reddit
"you're welcome" did I do it right
mullahchode@reddit
yes
Attilashorde@reddit
after someone says "thank you", you say "you're welcome" 🤣
Attilashorde@reddit
Awesome! Thank you
Prop-a-ganda-ist647@reddit
If your individual experience is all that matters to you, you should stop wasting your time on this sub getting ‘intel’ from others’ experiences
Attilashorde@reddit
First it's look everything is getting cheaper and don't worry about what you're actually seeing at stores. Now you are telling me how to spend my time. Lol, no thanks. I will continue doing what I feel like doing and that is browse Reddit when I'm at the gym or taking a shit.
Prop-a-ganda-ist647@reddit
Are you trolling? Be honest
Simple-Dingo6721@reddit
Your username checks out. Be honest.
Prop-a-ganda-ist647@reddit
What? Unpack that one for me boss
Simple-Dingo6721@reddit
Your Orwellian invalidation of one’s lived experience is corroborated by your conformist focus on the consensus of the status quo.
Prop-a-ganda-ist647@reddit
Okay, so I gather from your knowledge that I have a conformist focus on consensus around the status quo. For my learning please help me understand: 1. What status quo am I invested in upholding here? 2. How did I try to get the other user to conform?
I’ll get to the “lived experience” bit after.
Attilashorde@reddit
Why would I be trolling when I made a factual statement? I replied to the post that I didn't believe stuff was getting cheaper. I used an example from my experience and that seems to have somehow upset you. You probably need to seek therapy if you care so much about how others feel but that would be what I would do you do you 👍
lukabrazi3@reddit
What the bell is an online grocery store.
silversatire@reddit
Either an online storefront or an online marketplace. Aldi, for example, is very upfront in its disclaimer that prices on the website are more expensive than the price in store. If you're online shopping through Instacart or Uber or any of that group, you're probably paying a 30% premium or so compared to going to the store.
agent_flounder@reddit
Online only.
And as soon as you see the graph in the article ... You see the big drop was preceded by a big spike. So prices are back to where they were before the spike.
Total bullshit article.

Your individual anecdotal experience dosent invalidate a trend or aggregate evaluation of data from across the country. While we mean you and I( I live in SoCal and Groceries have on average remained the same) the rest of the countrt might be having a reduction on these goods. If you want to attack something, attack the methodology used to accrue the data if you dont like the conclusion drawn.
daviddjg0033@reddit
I noticed food prices dropping. 90% of the cost of big agriculture food production is fossil fuels: from fertilizer to pesticides to refrigerating trucking to grocer or restaraunt supplier and the leg home. I am curious to see what food prices drop and if any nation states decide to hoard grains during this period of deflation
Emergency-Freedom140@reddit
What period of deflation? Where TF do you live? Is it on planet Earth?
daviddjg0033@reddit
Gas prices are down. Grocery prices started coming down last month. The month before, fast food, which I do not eat, started $5 meals again. I live in Miami area Florida
Absinthe_Parties@reddit
They are down because the election is coming up. cant have expensive gas and groceries if you want your party to stay in command. Watch them spike again after they announce the new president.
daviddjg0033@reddit
Contrary to popular belief, the president has little influence in global sweet light crude markets. The gas prices would be even lower if we had more refineries- and you have to have down time to service these. Carl Icahn bought negative oil futures for delivery during the pandemic because he own refineries. The US is pumping more oil than any other - more than Saudi Arabia (if you had gas lines every other day your last name letter was the ticket) you would have never thought the US would become the king. We discovered Shale oil from ND to PA to CO/NM/TX. The US pumped more barrels of oil in the past several years than all of history combined.
IJizzOnRedditMods@reddit
Just bought groceries for my family of 4 and I'm calling bullshit
AdditionalAd9794@reddit
It's online sales, and by plunge they mean a %3 drop
IJizzOnRedditMods@reddit
I only buy online and I'll start cumming with excitement when it hits 30%
ShittingOutPosts@reddit
Up 50%, down 3%.
ShittyStockPicker@reddit
I’d believe that. I got a 50% discount t on pork belly because it was marked wrong at Costco, though. Amazing get!
ShittingOutPosts@reddit
Nice find!
stabthecynix@reddit
Just make sure you do it on the mods. 👍
IJizzOnRedditMods@reddit
They'll all look like Venkman after he was slimed
DoktorSigma@reddit
I'm afraid that you should see a doctor if you're jizzing green stuff.
Girafferage@reddit
I would see that as more of a time to worry than be excited.
chicagotodetroit@reddit
Same. Walmart's eggs are 3x as much as they were a couple weeks ago.
arrow74@reddit
I've seen some stuff going down lately, makes me nervous a crash is coming. But what's going down has been inconsistent
cansado_americano@reddit
Way is adobe tracking grocery prices?
Sink-Frosty@reddit
I'm tired of big media blatantly lying about the state of the economy.
Andr1yTheOne@reddit
Where do I do online grocery shopping lol
CostofRepairs@reddit
Bullshit. Walmart: $6bags of Doritos? $4 for 4# of store brand sugar?
Green_Protection474@reddit
I'm calling major BS
AWE2727@reddit
Who buys groceries online? Really that's a thing? WOW! 🤯
skyflyer8@reddit (OP)
It's been around, but really took off in popularity with covid. The prices are typically atleast a little higher than if you actually went to the store though, so I usually hear that people do it out of convenience/time saving or some have said it helps them avoid impulse purchases at the store.
TodaysSJW@reddit
It’s a Bloomberg article. Consider the source and who benefits from a fake story like this.
ResolutionMaterial81@reddit
More Jedi Mind Tricks?? 🙄
DoktorSigma@reddit
"There are not the high prices you're looking for"
ResolutionMaterial81@reddit
Exactly!! 💯 🤣
Raddish3030@reddit
My grocery bill don't agree with you.
I'm guessing everyone else ain't suddenly saying they are getting pre 2020 quantity, quality and cost.
DoktorSigma@reddit
Hey OP is just the messenger. MSM lying through its teeth is a kind of intel too. :)
LazyCoffee@reddit
What is this BS?
jugo5@reddit
Looks like all that government threatening and decreased spending finally did its thing.
Strange_Lady_Jane@reddit
Do better, Bloomberg.
Confident-Belt4707@reddit
Whole foods went down for about 2 weeks and then shot back up
speedx10@reddit
Bullshit I sell my bones to buy apples.
TheShadowuFear@reddit
Aldi raised a bunch of their prices in OH. Sign of the times. Their thr cheapest place to shop...
oceanwave4444@reddit
..False lol
wordstrappedinmyhead@reddit
Archive link in case anyone is paywalled: https://archive.is/LAfSE
And yeah, the article is bullshit. They're looking at ONLINE grocery prices, not what people are paying in stores. "Online grocery shopping accounts for about 12% of the national total."
And a 3% drop when prices on stuff is up 50%-60%-70% is laughable.
beginner75@reddit
Stop buying junk food .
CapablePrize4352@reddit
I don’t know why you’re getting downvoted. Groceries have gone up a negligible amount for me but I buy all whole foods (but not organic or anything fancy). Learning how to cook with whole foods will save anyone not just on food but on healthcare bills too
