Funny how there's no outrage in the US when Ukraine targets civilians.
RequestSingularity@reddit
We have two options.
Ukraine is wasting munitions on targets without value.
Russia has electronic jamming and Ukrainian munitions are missing targets.
Since we know Russia uses electronic jamming and other counter measures, and they have confirmed their use in the past, the most likely option is #2.
Striking_Computer834@reddit
You left off the option 3.
RequestSingularity@reddit
Ya, that was the option #1 I already mentioned.
Except it doesn't make any sense for them to waste their missiles on drunk Russians in their living room when they can blow up a Russian oil depot.
Just because Russia is doing something for a strategic purpose doesn't mean Ukraine is doing the same thing. Their goals are different.
Ukraine is trying to save Ukrainian lives. Killing a couple drunks while they eat dinner isn't going to save any Ukrainian lives. Blowing up oil depots will.
Striking_Computer834@reddit
Your hypothesis assumes the Ukraine doesn't believe it can achieve its objectives through terrorism. Targeting civilians is very common in war. It was the British and American strategy in Dresden, Tokyo, Hiroshima, and Nagasaki. The point is to break the public's will to support the war in the hopes they will pressure their government to end it.
RequestSingularity@reddit
Again, just because the Russians are terrorists doesn't mean everyone else is.
You're trying the 'both sides' argument when one invaded the other unprovoked.
Ukraine is clearly smarter than Russia. That's why Russia has failed their invasion and the front line has moved onto Russian soil. They did this by outsmarting Russia.
So no, it's not likely that Ukraine has given up on victory just to kill a couple old drunks (all the younger drunks are already on the front line) while they eat dinner.
Striking_Computer834@reddit
Flying bombs into apartment buildings is a terrorist act. It doesn't matter whether Russians are terrorists or not.
RequestSingularity@reddit
I agree, that's why people call Russia a terrorist nation.
Ukraine isn't targeting apartment buildings because they're not terrorists like Russia.
Glad you were able to figure that out.
ExoticCard@reddit
This guy thinks critically
NearABE@reddit
There is no reason to think the drones were aimed at civilians. I am prepared to become outraged if evidence of targeting humans presents itself.
I say it was silly to fly all the way to Moscow instead of hotting infrastructure on the way there.
Striking_Computer834@reddit
Well, nothing other than where they hit.

Rusky said it’s a sign of Ukr hostility… makes me laugh coming from a vodka infused country attacking a neighbor for no reason
errorryy@reddit
For no reason? Ukraine was attacking itself, Azov nazis shelling purely civilian areas of the Donbas. 14k civilians killed from thw 2014 CIA backed coup to 2022. Putin joined an ongoing civil war. Zelenski said Ukraine would invade Russia, nazis in the govt saying on social media theyd break Russia into 5 pieces, etc etc. They can put any ridiculous words in your mouth.
DrWallBanger@reddit
Do you think if everybody heard what you had to say and they all believed you, that you would still believe it yourself?
errorryy@reddit
Those are all easily proven facts above. 14k is a conservative UN number.
Even DURING the conflict, when Ukraine was low on ammo, the Azov nazis continue to shell civilian areas of Donetsk and Luhansk rather than use the ammo to fight Russian forces. Priorities.
DrWallBanger@reddit
That has nothing to do with my question
HereticBanana@reddit
Hmmm... Interesting retelling of history.
errorryy@reddit
Operation Gladio, Operation Paperclip. Some months ago Canada gave a medal to a Ukie nazi the brought over to suppress labor activism--cracking skulls. The West has a much bigger nazi infestation problem but dont worry. Putin is wiping them all up.
HereticBanana@reddit
HAHAHAHA Have anything from this millennia? Operation paperclip... my god man.
Do you still use a VCR? Does it blink 12:00?
What happened when Canada gave a medal to a former Nazi,? Did the person responsible apologize, explain he didn't know of the guys history, and then resign?
Putin is losing a war against a country a fraction of it's size. Russia isn't even the best army in Russia.
The Russian cope is delicious. Congrats on finally pushing the US to allow Ukraine to use weapons deep into Russia.
The next few months should be fun.
errorryy@reddit
You had one pic of trash Putin threw at Ukraine. Enjoy the copium, Ukraine is undefended, they achieved little w Kursk and their front lines have dissolved.
HereticBanana@reddit
He wasn't a random soldier, he was someone that Putin placed into power. He's the founder of Wagner Group. He was one of Putin's men.
But please, more cope!
In 2024, Ukraine has taken more land from Russia, than Russia has taken from Ukraine.
Is that what winning looks like for Russia? NATO is now on the borders of Russia. All because of Putin.
errorryy@reddit
Nazis are a NATO tool. We brought the Azov nazis to Houston for CIA to train. Ukraine spread themselves thin for some optics, to give you a rise. This has consequences.
HereticBanana@reddit
Nazis are a Russia tool. I posted a picture of one above.
Please post a picture of a Nazi in a NATO countries military uniform that is still employed by said military.
You have some evidence right?? LOL Just kidding. We both know your full of it.
Evidence is Kryptonite for Russian trolls.
errorryy@reddit
Im not Russian. I live in Cincinnati, OH. Right now a representative from my corrupt country, head of CIA Burns, is in Kiev, with the head of MI6, discussing ceasefire imperatives because Ukraine is lost. Kursk was a suicide mission. Its over. Might not be in print until after the election (the US election, Zelensky isnt legitimate, he cancelled elections.)
HereticBanana@reddit
LOL And what happens when after their meetings, they don't announce a ceasefire and instead announce they're letting Ukraine use long distance munitions on Russian soil?
Then what happens to your narrative?
xxhamzxx@reddit

Yes yes blah blah the Americans are just as bad, I know you'll say it.

Russia/China are unchecked, unbridled evil.
There is a difference.
escapefromburlington@reddit
"American government is only a little evil" .....is this a joke?
xxhamzxx@reddit
In relativeity to Russia, yes lmao are you silly.
escapefromburlington@reddit
How many foreign military bases does Russia have btw? The USSR is more comparable, not modern day Russia. Just to be clear, I hate Putin but he just doesn’t have the same capability to harm, unless he goes nuclear.
xxhamzxx@reddit
More Whataboutism lol, yeesh
Since when did having military bases make you evil? Also the countries always invite/work out a deal, you're acting as if they force bases on people 💀
Also, when the Ukraine war started the whole world was pretty fucking happy to have those military bases everywhere. I'm sure glad Americans don't have health care so that I can sleep easy at night.
escapefromburlington@reddit
Absolutely false. Google Okinawa. Having lots of military bases makes you bad when you're an imperialist superpower.
xxhamzxx@reddit
I know about Okinawa, the people that live there don't like the base because it "makes them a target", as if they weren't already in chinese crosshairs.
So you're saying the Japanese government has zero say about a foreign base in Okinawa? I find that impossible to believe lol.
escapefromburlington@reddit
It's more than that. SA & environmental devastation. China has 3 foreign military bases btw
Raikkonen716@reddit
It's simplistic to view great powers as fundamentally different when it comes to their behavior on the international stage. All major powers have violated international law at various points, prioritizing their strategic interests over ethics or human rights. I'm surprised to see comments that overlook this reality, especially on a subreddit where I would expect more awareness of political science and international relations.
errorryy@reddit
PS even just domestically the fascism is thick. NYT and NPR have been running pieces breathlessly extolling Harris' debate prowess. They kept her mostly hidden for 3 years, she famously got kneecapped by Tulsi in a debate, and despite having the whole Clinton machine at her disposal, and tons of next day airtime to recover, she couldnt. Got 0 delegates, zero black support (she is a slaver, not descendent of slaves) had to drop out early when there were still enough mainstream dem candidates still in the primary to field a football team.
This system doesnt respect you. And you prove the system knows you well.
xxhamzxx@reddit
This post is about Ukraine drone attack but you somehow landed on Clinton and Harris, sir wtf lol

errorryy@reddit
CIA sure. But they serve "US Interests" not the US citizen--Israel is a US interest. A corporation where the CEO golfs with the right folks is a US interest.
The National Security Act of....i think 1952, might get year wrong.... gave power to the National Security Apparatus for the duration of the cold war. After we won the cold war they were supposed to relinquish power. Guffaw.
xxhamzxx@reddit
I personally don't think the CIA follows Americans interest... Their complete control over the alien retrieval program and weapons manufacturers says otherwise.
juxtoppose@reddit
It’s difficult to believe anyone could come to the conclusions you have without being a victim of Russian propaganda, I’m sorry you can’t recognise the truth when you have all the information if you look for it and keep an open mind.
errorryy@reddit
Ive followed Ukraine since 2014. It used to be in our news in the US that they had a nazi problem. Until just a few weeks ago there was still a ban on supporting the Azovs. Nazis. Democracy Now! was one of the last outlets to still report on that, up until around 2017.
Even the current head of the CIA, Burns, wrote a memo in 2010 entitled, "Nyet Means Nyet." Details why we should stop doing what we did.
You have to have no self respect, over years, to buy the Western media position.

War is fucked. The wrong people die.
Illustrious-Being339@reddit
Moscow is where the most privileged in russia live and these same people have the most power to stop the war in Ukraine.
Lazy_Transportation5@reddit
If Ukraine intentionally targets civilians, they are terrorists just like Russia. No excuse or exceptions. Though, war seems to be a gross tragic thing. Particularly dangerous and sometimes you are simply born with the misfortune of existing in a place where other men choose to have a conflict at. I guess that’s just war, but the intent is a distinction and anyone who supports Ukraine intentionally killing Russian civilians is someone that is doomed to exist on the wrong side of history.
Illustrious-Being339@reddit
99% of the russian population ACTIVELY supports the war in Ukraine. Notice how even the conscripts aren't exactly rushing to surrender when they get to the front lines? What does that tell you? So how many civilians are there really in russia? The russians who don't support the war have mostly fled the country already. A small amount of russians don't support the war and basically stay in hiding. The rest of the population actively supports the war and will do whatever possible to make sure russia wins. Russia has totally propagandized the entire country.
So how do you define who is a civilian and who isn't?
Lazy_Transportation5@reddit
So you’re alright with the Gaza Strip being turned into a sheet of glass along with the children and women living there? Hot take.
Illustrious-Being339@reddit
Yes. Those people are too far gone to save. Brainwashed by a terrorist government. Even the youngsters are being taught to hate Jews as soon as they start walking.
Lazy_Transportation5@reddit
Well bud, I suppose I wasn’t quite ready to come across someone who is down for militaries to actively target civilians for the crime of living in a country at war. I personally dig militaries trying to minimize civilian casualties.
Illustrious-Being339@reddit
You live in a very idealistic fantasy world. In reality, things are not as simple as you want them to be.
Lazy_Transportation5@reddit
I don’t think it’s too much to ask to not intentionally target civilians. I also understand civilian casualties will likely always happen because war is violent and the civilians that live where war happens are always going to suffer. Fair. In fact, telling a military to wait until they are being shot at to shoot back is pretty wild. But intentionally targeting civilians like “Hey, here’s a civilian apartment, let’s launch a drone at it because fuck Russia.” You’re subhuman if you’re down with that, 100%.
Illustrious-Being339@reddit
In a perfect world, yes, civilians should not be intentionally targeted. In the real world, soldiers often dress in civilian clothing and you have no idea who is civilian or not. You also can't realistically fight a war against fascist regimes without significant civilian casualties. If the allied forces didn't do the blitz on german cities, the allies would not have won the war.
dyrnwyn580@reddit
To attack civilian infrastructure is a war crime.
yipgerplezinkie@reddit
War is a crime. We try to regulate it, but it cannot be regulated. If your country is at war, you cannot be truly safe civilian or not. It’s always been this way and it always will. It’s good that we try to stigmatize certain war behaviors that we abhor the most, but you cannot wage war to win without killing civilians with a peer power.
hiS_oWn@reddit
If you regulate something it is not by definition a crime. It is legal. War is legal.
yipgerplezinkie@reddit
Only because every nation participates in them or threatens one to ensure security. If it was about human rights, it wouldn’t be is my point.
It’s only regulated insofar as tit for tat is the best game theory strategy to engage with your enemy with minimal casualties. If you commit an abhorrent act, your enemy must engage with you with similar acts. Defining war crimes is simply a suggestion to not needlessly kill and harm people so neither side engages in that behavior. Once one side does, the gloves are off. If it’s one countries policy to kill civilians, expect similar tactics until the behavior stops.
HalloweenLover@reddit
This is where things can get murky. Russia's logistics is centralized in Moscow, their train dispatching is run through there and the bulk of their logistics is by train. So if Ukraine is able to disrupt power in Moscow that would impact Russia's ability to route supplies. So while technically civilian infrastructure it is also a military target.
IllustriousLimit7095@reddit
Tell Putin
Illustrious-Being339@reddit

JadedBoyfriend@reddit
Didn't they have protests in Moscow? The people only have so much power. The real power is with Putin.
Illustrious-Being339@reddit

wabladoobz@reddit

aynhon@reddit
Russian is complaining when they should have taken care of Putin long ago.
They want this.
WarbringerNA@reddit
It’s wrong to speak in absolutes when they aren’t accurate, so we can’t say ALL of Moscow or all of Russia. Yet it’s safe to say the majority of Russian people (not the inflated vote totals, but estimates of “real” support) do actually support Putin. It skews towards certain demographics and older population etc etc. and influenced by decades of propaganda.
However, I think from a historical standpoint the case being made that the people of Moscow might need to feel the effects of the war could hold a lot of weight.
JadedBoyfriend@reddit
What do you mean by "real"? If support is coming from a population that feels scared, is that actually real?
It's honestly too hard to say what is real or not in the safety of our countries where we can criticize our leaders openly.
NearABE@reddit
Moscow did have protests. They just need more of them.
Because Putin’s regime jailed the protestors they have no gauge on public descent. The overthrow could happen at anytime.
Hero11234@reddit
Yes.
Tiny_Ad_4544@reddit
Sure but there is no evidence civilians were deliberately targeted in this attack. More like a few drones went off course because of jamming. Once I see a hospital, a mall or a school in Moscow deliberately hit with a ballistic missile when there were many people, then we can consider that as a deliberate attack. But this is unlikely to happen the at current levels of hostility. Ukraine would not do it because western support can wind down (like it is happening in Gaza). Ukraine doesn’t want that. But if Russians decide to do something super bad like nuking something in Ukraine, then i wouldn’t care a tiny bit how Ukraine would retaliate. At that point the entire world may retaliate.
Ayyylm00000s@reddit
russia would collapse if they dont win ukraine war. is all or nothing.
not even the citizens would vote for maximum economic depression. its all messed up

Putin is a moderate in terms of internal Russian politics. There's a strong chance whoever would replace him would be much worse.
RequestSingularity@reddit
Or this is just another idea put out by Russia to help secure Putin's place as leader.
If everyone is afraid of Putin's replacement, they might not go too hard for regime change.
Baader-Meinhof@reddit
This is an assessment from American intelligence agencies and why we haven't seen efforts at regime change.
It's likely Medvedev would be next in line. You don't want him calling the shots.
RequestSingularity@reddit
American Intelligence agencies though Russia had the second best military in the world. Now it's clear they don't even have the 2nd best military in Russia.
It's just that every time someone says something about Putin being removed, someone always pops in to say the alternative is worse.
You know what? I think we should go ahead and find out anyways. At this point, lets just remove him and see what happens.
His replacement will have their own self interests in mind. Killing off the military they'll want on their side is a bad way to start as a new dictator.

RequestSingularity@reddit
Ukraine isn't launching attacks on civilians. They have no reason to. They are attacking things that are part of the war machine.
Russia is trying to break Ukraine's spirit. Russia has reason to go after civilians because they want to force a surrender.
Ukraine however is attacking things that are killing their people.
bigkoi@reddit
It's unfortunate, but Ukraine is within its rights to punch back on a belligerent Russia.

yipgerplezinkie@reddit
War crimes are defined not just because we abhor these behaviors, but because tit for tat is the most effective war strategy. If you don’t want to experience a war crime, you must not perpetrate them yourself. Because Russia kills Ukrainians with impunity, game theory dictates that the Ukrainians must respond in kind until the behavior ceases.
There are the rules of war and the reality of it. The rules are only guidelines

Supreme Russian civilians are supreme beings with superior entitled arrogant one way rights! They have a right to support Putin while being naturalized citizens of enemy countries.
EnvironmentalBear115@reddit
Russian civilians SUPPORT the invasion of Ukraine so they are legitimate targets now by allying with the military.
ZalutPats@reddit

bigkoi@reddit
Ukraine has been proven to only be targeting infrastructure. Most likely the drones that did hit civilian areas were mistakes. Ukraine has a limited number of long distance drones and they won't waste drones on areas that are not key to Russia's military supply chain.

NearABE@reddit
Not necessarily. We need the information on the drone type and what was used to intercept them. If Russia is using missiles like an S300 it would be sound strategy for Ukraine to send drones flying in circles around Moscow. The drones might be moped engines with a propellor.
Confident-Belt4707@reddit
I think what they actually mean is they allowed 144 to be destroyed by detonating on at or over their targets.

ZalutPats@reddit
Source for civilians being attacked?
Baader-Meinhof@reddit
There's a video of a drone literally crashing into a residential tower. The post itself mentions it. Washington Post for example.
Both sides routinely hit residential and civilian things, it's the nature of these long attacks. Intention to do so is harder to discern.
HereticBanana@reddit
Russia uses electronic jamming which causes them to crash into other buildings. Unlike Russia, Ukraine isn't targeting hospitals and apartments.
Ukraine is actually trying to defend themselves. That requires strategic strikes on things that can actually hurt Ukrainians. Like munition factories and oil depots.
Part of Russia's strategy is causing the collapse of Ukrainian society. Targeting civilians helps Russia archive that goal.
Baader-Meinhof@reddit
They both use electronic warfare. Don't be dense.
HereticBanana@reddit
But they don't both specifically target civilian infrastructure. Only Russia does that because it actually fits their goals.
There have been plenty of cases of Russia hitting apartments and hospitals with precise hits without any military targets in the area.
ZalutPats@reddit
How is that relevant if the crash occurred there because of Russian defenses? If civilians were not targeted, then they weren't attacked by Ukraine.
And as long as Russia is not held accountable for their thousands of strikes against civilian targets, it is ridiculous to attempt to do so versus Ukraine who are not even the aggressors.
If Russia wants the collateral damage to end, all they have to do is not wage wars of aggression.
lateavatar@reddit
When Russia stops attacking, raping, bombing, stealing 40,000 children... This all ends tomorrow. All Russia has to do is respect the treaties and boarders that had agreed to.

Simple-Dingo6721@reddit
The main roadblock is Putin.
aynhon@reddit
Becoming more of a speedbump with the news today.
KevSC721@reddit
I think you're probably right. If there is an uprising this won't likely be a popular one, it may come from within his inner circle or Russian elite. Some oligarchs or generals who are fed up with Putin (and their dwindling bank accounts), or are threatened by him as he gets more and more desperate, could be the ones that plot his downfall. We saw a test run by Prigozihn last year. He just didn't finish the job. "If you come at the king, you best not miss."
Illustrious-Being339@reddit
Someone from within will overthrow Putin and then turn russia into something similar to north Korea where you have 99.99% of the population treated like slaves. This new leader will abandon attacking foreign neighbors and adopt a foreign policy similar to north Korea's where they talk big but never have a legitimate intent to attack.
aynhon@reddit
Basically just like Putin.

Ukraine will lose they are currently losing. What they are doing now is expanding this war into a possible war vs nato. If that happens it’s ww3. Ukraine will never ever win they should be talking a peace deal and take it. Russian restraint will only last so long. People in these groups think Russia will lose. It will never happen. I want peace not ww3
HereticBanana@reddit
Thousands of new NATO borders suggest Russia hasn't won anything.
In 2024, Ukraine has taken more Russian land than Russia has take of Ukraine.
AffectedRipples@reddit
650,000 Russian casualties over 2.5 years of a "3 day operation" is restraint?
ZalutPats@reddit
Ukraine will win, they are currently winning by not being defeated in 3 days like Putin's generals predicted. Every day that they don't fall is another victory. Russia is the only one expanding the conflict by refusing to leave. Russia has zero rights to any of the land they are occupying, if they are allowed to keep Any then we send the signal that war is profitable and this will only sow further conflict down the line. WW3 is preferable to that future, but that will not happen either because Russia has Zero reliable allies.
If you want peace gtfo of Ukraine.

I agree, 144 drones is not good at all. 1440 would be much better.
iluvios@reddit
For which side? Because the Ukrainians sure like being on equal footing to the Russians
ANDERSON961596@reddit
It’s not good for civilians in both countries.
Unfortunately that’s the price everyone pays on both sides
HIVnotAdeathSentence@reddit
I'd say attacks on civilian infrastructure would only get Russians to support the invasion.
Then again, how many civilians have been killed in Ukraine compared to how many have fled the country?
Illustrious-Being339@reddit
99% of Russians already actively and openly support the war.
NateStockTrades@reddit
I'm almost certain I resd about Germans becoming pessimistic about the Nazi reign once allied bombers began leveling their cities. They knew they themselves were at wrong.
The Russians today know too, they just can't freely admit it or risk being imprisoned.
Snakepli55ken@reddit
Good. Invaders should get fucked.
AlfredoCustard@reddit
I wonder if they tried hitting kremlin directly and just end the war.
wyocrz@reddit
I'd love to hear how hitting the Kremlin would end the war.
